I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

Honestly.. although a few dumbasses have weaseled their way out of the woodworks by hoarding.. a surprising number of people are helping each other out. It's great IMO, I'm going to head over there tonight or this weekend for trades myself. It's good to see that the community has grown so much, yet we still help each other out.

Again, like the list says, it's the version that includes the game only. You scanned the one with the microphone or whatever it comes with. The game only is $9.98.

I'm not even going to comment on the guys that are taking them to Wal-Mart or Best Buy and exchanging them. I'll just say that Karma's a bitch and they'll get theirs.

Please PM me if anyone has an extra Metal Slug Advance they are willing to sell. This is the only game I wanted. I've been trying to get it for over a year with no luck. I checked out 5 TRUs in NJ yesterday and I had no luck. I did manage to grab a Mr Driller DS so it wasn't a total waste.

In the beginning of the summer I went to 4 Kmarts when they had Metal Slug Advance for $19.99, I had no luck then either. I did see some people found it since all of a sudden there are quite a few Ebay auctions for new Metal Slug Advances. That sucks, but I'm keeping an eye on the auctions so hopefully I'll get lucky. Its pissing me off that I'll have to pay $20 for on eBay, but I really want the game so I'll have to suck it up. I did enjoy the thrill of the hunt looking for Metal Slug Advance at the TRUs.

Bingo! I did my part last night when I went. I fixed up the PS2 and XBox sections so more people could find the games (or the display cases) they wanted. Double-bonus for that since I found games that I wasn't looking for at first!

Aside from that I remembered that someone else said "Pay it foward" earlier on in the thread so I've been doing the same. I helped someone out on line when she had a question regarding game ratings (she was most appreciative for the help!), and I was letting some people know in-store if they should buy certain games or not because they weren't marked down to $10 and they felt it was too expensive. Ahhh...to make peoples' eyes light up at the register is a mighty fine thing.

I've also been sending some PMs and have been posting about stock at the store I went to, since nobody really knows about the sale there in the slightest. It means that it still has some fantastic stock left, although the Top Tier titles have been gone for the last few days, of course. Plenty of killer titles left, though. No reason not to look!

One thing I have to note, though, is that the ESRB has a lot of extra work to do regarding game ratings. People easily get the ratings on the front of the box and in ads, no problem, but most non-gamers don't realize that they also include the content that may be questionable on the back of the game. Makes a great deal of difference when people are browsing for games as gifts and the workers are busy at the cash register.

Went to an out of the way TRU on my drive home... found a copy of MMBN 4: Red Sun, which is really the only game I wanted out of this whole deal, so I'm happy.

This is going to get way off-topic but you are implying that the games were bought there when in fact they were not. This is material information that you are purposely withholding. I've argued both sides of this issue and I'm not sure it's 100% fraud but a very convincing case can be made. If I were a judge I know how I would rule...

In response, I'll offer this: if automakers know that it's illegal to drive over the speed limit, then why do they make cars that can go 140 mph?

The retailers are relying on customer honesty here. I don't even know the specific consumer law that forbids this, but even so, it's morally wrong IMO. It's basically stealing for people who don't want to feel guilty for doing so.

Yeah you're right, I have not done it, but I was considering it since I can't return unopened games to TRU over the 45 days.

Best Buy would probably give me a lot of credit. But I can't just openly lie to the CS people.

This has been discussed countless times before on the site. If you really want to get into it, go dig up the threads from last year's Green Tag sales, the Circuit City sales, or any of the massive sales that have had posts with thousands of threads in them.

It should be in every last one of those threads at some point.

i wouldnt say that is true...late last night i got Pirates and Pyschonauts...you would think TRU would have advertised this sale then all the crap games would be gone as well...it would have been perfect timing on their part

Wow! Everyone must either be hungover or feelin' the holiday cheer for THIS to achieve only minor flaming. I've seen Scortch cause people to burst into tears over a hell of a lot less than this! Cheers!
 
I dropped by the Southcenter Toys R Us (Tukwila, WA) last night, and the GameCube, Nintendo DS, and GameBoy Advance sections were picked pretty clean. I didn't check the Xbox or PS2 sections for stock, so I can't report on them.

I got there at about 8:30pm last night, and all I saw that was part of the $9.98 clearance for the Nintendo systems were the following:

GameCube:
Def Jam New York (about two copies left - I grabbed the third for myself :D)
Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets (four left)
Madden 05 (several - there might have been other EA '05 sports titles there, but I wasn't looking to buy any of them. I think there's a chance that there were at least 3-4 copies of each listed in the original post still in stock there. Sorry I forgot to note them.)
*placeholder disk case for Resident Evil 4 (so it may or may not be in stock - I didn't check behind the counter, sorry)
*placeholder disk case for Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords (also might not be in stock, but I didn't have time to check)

GameBoy Advance:
Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (4-5 copies)
Golden Sun: The Lost Age (at least 10-15 copies)
Pokemon Emerald and Ruby (1 Emerald, about 2-3 Rubies)
F-Zero GP Legend (I think three copies were left - I picked one up myself :D)
World Champ Poker (a LOT of copies...)

Nintendo DS:
-sorry, nothing :(


It's worth noting that I really don't find many sales there that often, as this TRU is in the largest shopping area in the state of Washington, or at least the most central. It's picked clean pretty often, so the above is no surprise (though no less depressing for a cheapie like me ;D)

BTW: The TRU in Hamden, CT still has plenty of titles left as of last night. I saw DDS, RE4, Conker, and Killer 7 among others. I passed on them because, 1. I have too many games at home going unloved (Hell, just look at my sig!!! It needs work!) and 2. There was a line of about 20 clueless parents ("Umm...I have a 6 year old and a Nintendo, what's good?").

Edit: Sorry, but I am NOT going back in there.
 
Did anyone find the PSP Soccer Game?

I've read every post on this thread (lol) and I can't find anyone who got the PSP soccer. Anyone actually find this? I'd be interested in buying / trading for it. Cheers!

Ran out this morning & piked up RE4, Fight Night 2, FF 1 & 2 . Had alot more in my hand, then realized how much I have spent on Christmas, so I put them back. Might go to another TRU to find a MK though.
 
I may stop back late tonight to TRU just to see what's left. If I see any extra titles that you guys are looking for like MK:KE and the like (RE4 is sold out), I'll see what I can do.

That's funny, World Soccer Tour PSP was the only PSP game I saw from the list. The manager put the display boxes (2 or 3) on the PS2 rack where he was putting $9.98 stickers on the shelf under the corresponding games.

Did they actually have it behind the glass? I don't know, but I would think so.
Will I be going back to buy/find out? Definitely not :)

Definately a YMMV but Viewtiful Joe DS was marked at $9.98 at the Muncie, IN TRU. Should make a nice Christmas gift.

I also have a copy of Zelda Four Swords for trade if anyone is interested. Looking primarily for RE4 but will consider Pikmin 2 and Conker as well. PM me if interested.

This afternoon I went not expecting much...and for the most part I was right, but there was a TON of nothing much. I was able to score:

Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA)
Final Fantasy I & II (GBA)
Killer 7 (PS2)
Winning Eleven 8 (XBOX)
Romance of the Three Kingdoms X (PS2)
Fight Night Round 2 (CG)

Like I said I was expecting the pickings to be slim, but there were still a few Killer 7's, King of Fighters, DBZ's, Transformers, Samuari Western, Metal Slug 3 and Winning Eleven 8's to be found.

The bin was a mess!

The TRU in my area only had Darkstalkers from the 4 listed. Oh well.

i saw it sunday (should of grabbed it) it wasnt there monday when i went back ... i had one on order on the webpage BUT didnt think it was worth 15.87 shipeed
