I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.
EDIT:this is all I got. The new stuff is listed on the top. If anyone else at TRU has anything to add let me know.

EDIT 3:These prices should be good to go Thursday. I checked the other stores markdown lists in my area Saturday and all of them had the 9.98 games. I got a friend's scanner and posted a page from the markdown list. I hope this works.
EDIT 4: Because no CAG wants to pay $5 more than he/she has to, shipwreck took the liberty of putting which games are eligible for $5 rebates on PriceGrabber. For complete info on the rebates check out this thread:

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

The one with the soundtrack has a different SKU. Maybe an employee saw it on Baten Kaitos on the list and just tossed it in the bin. I checked the one with the soundtrack on Thursday and it rang up $30. I asked an employee about it and was told that there was a copy without the soundtrack in the store but she was unable to locate for me.

The one with soundtrack has a different UPC sticker and does indeed ring up at $29.99. I did score one since they had GT'd it in error and they had to do a price overide. I also saw a few with the soundtrack with the UPC sticker removed, which would ring up at the $9.99 price.

Yea... i don't remember seeing a UPC sticker covering it... which might be the reason.

Zon27: It appears as though you work at ToysRUs. Is that true? If so, could you check inventory and see if any stores in Northern NJ/NY or southern NJ have Digital Devil Saga 1 for Ps2? I know you may have gotten these types of requests beore but if you could check it out, I would appreciate it. if not, thanks anyway

Does anyone know what time ToysRUs opens on the 26th? Are they opening early for sales?
 
Hi All,

I'm new here.

I called the Toys R Us in my area (store number 6336 in Bronx, NY, Baychester Avenue) and they are closed on Sunday since it is Christmas Day. I'll be calling them again tomorrow and seeing if I can find Fatal Frame 2 for $9.98. I'm assuming it'll probably be too late by then.

This has probably been discussed before but I didn't see it...when does this deal end exactly? I saw someone mention that it ends when the games run out, but the promotion probably has an official end date, December 25th at 12AM or December 26th at 12AM.

Makes sense. The cashier is afraid that you are not old enough so sometimes they don't ask.

I got carded for drinks more between 23 and 27 then I ever did when I was 21/22. I am sure that is because when I was 23-27 they were confident that they wouldn't lose a sell. (I'm 32 now.)

It's so cool to walk in to a store when they open and take advantage of a sale that even employees have no clue about.

I got RE 4, Pirates, Wario Ware and a couple of others so I walked away happy.


Has there been any information on the 4.99 and up in today's ad?

The $4.99 titles are on the main page, it's shit like Triggerman. Psychonauts (XB) will be $29.99.
 
Yay, my wife actually managed to snag a copy of FFI&II and surprised me with it today. Actually managed to get everything I was hoping to get out of this TRU sale. Hope everyone got what they wanted!
 
And to clarify, as Scorch will probably agree, seeing the same three questions asked once or twice per page gets old, especially when the answers are right in the OP or are as plain as day in the ad.

Dunno if it's PT or the orig, but Chaos Theory on XB (original version, not CE) rang up for $19.99.

This may be a dumb question, but are these prices permanent or is this just a short sale? Because my TRU didn't have any of the games I wanted so I was going to go to Best Buy, get them for the sale price -10% of the difference and use up some gift cards in the process.

It's a sale / clearance. Once the games are gone their gone and won't order any more (as far as I know)

Price Matching is easy to do if you have all the right resources.

Show them the advertisment for TRU, show them the receipt that shows all your games were only $9.98, and you could try to get them to PM it for a different console.

Step 1
Show cashier TRU ad and receipt from TRU (two sources for the game being sold $4.99+up, but actually at $9.98). This proves the game IS on sale at a competing retailer for less.

Step 2
Tell them you want to buy the same game on a different platform. If they allow it, you're done, if not, see Step 3.

Step 3
Return to the store the next day saying it's on the wrong console (as long as they don't actually give you any money, they normally won't care).

All TRU are back to standard operating hours, which usually are 10am-9pm Monday- Saturday and 11am-6pm Sunday.

Any rate, when I left a hour ago, Geist and Metroid Prime 2 were still not ringing at 9.98, but hopefully will by open. I'm telling you guys just in case.

Yep, I was at TRU at 8:20AM on the first day and the cashier said a big group was there at 8:00 when they opened and bought all the RE4s. If any CAGers have a sealed copy they would be willing to part with (for Paypal $$), PM me!
 
Hey I made a huge f-up about Geist, Metroid Prime 2, Bomberman DS, and Splinter Cell DS in store pricedrops. I went into my store this morning with UPC printouts of those games to put under the price checker and the only game that came up as a 'sale' was Metroid Prime 2 for 19.99...everything else came up regular price. Sorry if anyone bought these games earlier based on my info. All I can say is that i'm sorry and I hope I didn't cause anyone to waste money.
