I think these are those clearance games mentioned coming in the other TRU ad thread. These prices go into effect Thursday December 22.

EDIT 6:I found the master list which is essentially the green tag games merged with the 12/22 list. I did find some new games that will be part of the B&M sale on Monday but still no Psychonauts for Xbox.

Ok, somewhat bad experience at TRU today.

First, ask if the PSP and DS Intec kits are still $10 (knowing they are). Someone mentioned you could use the $10 coupon to get them for essentially tax. Tried to do that, but the machine would not accept it. Apparently there is already a manufacturer's coupon, so the paper one I had wouldn't work, despite that it said clearly "will work with other manufacturer's coupons." Not a big deal, so I don't really care.

Two, no more GC w/Mario Party 7 bundles, something I realized would be an absolute steal for $90, but again, nothing big.

Third, I find a box for Shin Megami Tensai Nocturne. Now, a few months ago when it was 50% off, I went looking for it, and this display box was there, but the clerk told me "we don't have any," despite that I saw some in the glass case, which he assured me were display boxes as well. So I ask the clerk is any are around, and without even scanning or anything, she says no. I ask her why the box is out there and she says that they still get shipments of it. I asked her when that would happen and she said "next week." I asked if she knew a day - no. I asked if I could leave my name or number - no. She absolutely refuses to do anything more. I didn't bring up that I thought any GT game would be clearanced out, meaning they don't get more copies, but I didn't. So that got me a little upset.

Finally, ask her to scan Baten Kaitos w/OST since other CAGs reported that if it scanned, it would ring up as $10, and then you could get both. There's no sticker, but it is in one of those stupid plastic cases, so I ask her to price check it. She refuses, instead just tells me it's 29.99. So I say that I had heard it was $10 from a friend if she'd just scan it. She says "What, you don't believe me?" and I remain cool and just say "I just like to be sure." Instead of scanning it, she keys in the code and it still says 29.99, and she gives me this look of sheer triumph.

So my question to CAG is - will TRUs get shipments of SMTN? I can't imagine any do since NO ONE has mentioned anything about it, and I think TRU is just being lazy as hell about knowing what to put out on the floor.

And while you're at it TRU, put out some f*cking price scanners, so I don't waste your $5/hour employee's prescious time.

Edit: Wanted to note that my TRU has Geist, MP2, Psychonauts, Samurai Western, Doom 3, Feel the Magic, and a few others left.

Only the one without the OST is $10. What some people suggested was that you ask the employee to peel of the extra sticker UPC that covers the soundtrack version so it rings up $10. I hate when employees refuse to price check since most of the time, the shelf or sticker price is wrong when there is a clearance or markdown.

I doubt TRU will get more copies of SMTN in.

I just picked up two copies of Zelda Four Swords for trade if anyone's interested. Ideally, I'd like to get a copy of RE4 since I got every other game I wanted from the list almost (over 40 games.) It's the one that comes with the GBA cable.
 
Went back again today. Huge clearance signs all over the store, not just video games. Since they know me so well now, they let me peruse the case to see what's actually in there and what isn't.

I scored Geist, WarioWare GBA (buried under other games...I'm so psyched!), and the Super Monkey Ball double pack. These are on top of my already huge haul from the past week. And the B2G1 haul.

Mine are all gone with the exception of the copy I'm keeping. I never found one in the D/FW area but if you know anyone in Lubbock Tx (where I went for Xmas) that place was full of them at their TRU....I mean the things were all over the place - behind the counter, on the shelves, on the "clearance" table...everywhere. They were still there when we left this past Monday so wouldn't be at all surprised if there are still some there. They weren't getting much pressure at that store, had no idea about the sale.

Thanks for the post, I picked up a copy of Feel the Magic and Mr. Driller. While I was in one of the TRU an employee noticed I was looking through 9.99 bin and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told him I was looking for DS games (just got one so figured I would get some CAG's to go with it). He stated he didn't think there were many (I was already holding the last copy of Mr. Driller) so I thanked him and continued to look around at the shelves. Then he came by with a returned copy of Tiger Woods for 9.99 that he had been "testing". So I went ahead and picked it up, works good and for less than I could buy a used copy at Gamestop/EB. Glad I decided to make the trip, thanks for the post.

IF YOU'RE NEAR TEXARKANA YOU NEED TO GO TO THE TOYS R' US Stopped by this one today when I was heading back to Tennessee and I picked up the following for the XBOX:

At the moment Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne is an "X"ed item in the computer. Which in the system means it's discontinued. It's happened before that some items that are X'd return to regular status but I highly doubt this will be the case for SMT:N.

To be more specific....my store recieved 1 case (12 copies) and then recieved 2 loose copies in the mixed box shipments (other TRU employees will know them as CDC's). So 14 copies TOTAL when the game released for my store. My store is an "A" volume store. (Note: AA is the highest level volume, A is second highest, B is third highest, etc)
 
I found a Viewtiful Joe 2 by chance tonight, which wasn't there when the sale started. I also saw Batman Begins in the bin, but figured that some customer put it in there.

I've only ever seen 1 copy of certain games in stock at my TRU when they came out at my store DDS, SMT:N & Gradius V for example. I wonder if my store is a "F" volume store ;)
 
Now that lettering system makes sense. Years ago, I remember a local TRU telling me that because their store was smaller than most other TRU's, they got less merchandise than other stores (this was related to something with N64 or N64 games). I guess that store is at the lower end of the grading (probably a C,D or F).
 
Does anyone's store still have copies of Metal Slug Advance in stock? If so, check my trade list and PM me if there's something you would want in trade for one.
 
Found a copy of Katamari Damacy w/ Green Tag $19.99. When I scanned it it rang up $9.99, so I asked the sales person. She opened the plastic case, rang it up and then entered in some code and I got it for $5.47. When I looked at the receipt she had taken 50% off the $9.99 price.

I think D is the lowest it goes, but I could be mistaken...heh.

Wow, you got a dumb associate there. GT games were all set at $9.99 in leue of the 50% (or more) off. Good find though.

Nightmare of Druaga is the best game on your list. It's an excellent roguelike, which isn't a genre for everyone, but if you do enjoy them chances are you'll dig Druaga. Especially at $10.

Hmm, how would one go about obtaining the grade for their TRU store? Would the common employee have such information?

I got a copy of Geist for GC and FF I & II for GBA. Anyone willing to trade either (or both) for their extra copy of Tekken 5 and/or Mario Party 5?
 
There were several copies of Metroid Prime: Echoes, FF 1&2 DOS, and at least one copy of Golden Sun: TLA at the Northlake TRU, just north of Atlanta. In fact, they had the Metroids in the case behind the counter. When I inquired about them, the lady acted surprised when she rang up the price and pulled the whole mess out of the case and dumped them in the 10 buck bin.
