anybody been in store to see if the deals are active there yet? nm they have the flyers but dont honer the prices yet....bah...guess i'll have to wait till sunday

I got an Email from EB with a bunch of okay deals but what really stood out was this code :

BUY3GET1

"
Buy 3 Pre-Played Games-Get 1 Free!
To receive your free Pre-Played game, add four Pre-Played video games to your shopping cart and enter coupon code BUY3GET1. Free game will be the lowest priced item. Offer expires October 16, 2005. Limit of one offer per customer. Maximum of three free games per customer. Excludes Pre-Played hardware. Offer is subject to change at any time. Not valid with any other offers. No dealers."

Stock up on all those cheap old games or just simply get something free with your order.

Enjoy.

Edit: Works with Edge card but not with PPlay15,saver or Cag15.

You can use your Edge card with this, so it comes out to a 35% discount if you get 4 evenly priced games.

Do you know if it's stackable with the Edge card? If so then it's a potential 35% off. If it's not stackable (or if you just don't have an Edge card), then the most you can get is 25% off when you get four equally-priced items.

I know it says "not valid with other offers" but sometimes they allow Edge codes anyway.

EDIT: ha ha, looks like fwacce was quicker on the draw
Hmm that renewal card with the free Call of Duty sounds appealing, even though Finest Hour kinda sucked.
well it was done by a different developer. The one doing this version also did the original PC version
yea you would probably get the games cheaper if you use CAG15 and SAVER

unless your buying exspensive pre-played games
But you can get 35% off in-store. Screw shipping. So as long as there are 4 games at one location, its a much better deal. Well, 10% anyway. Not sure if I'll partake, we'll see whats available this weekend. Trying to get all my game purchases out of the way early after the $300 fiasco last month.

But this discussion should really be moved over to the EB sale thread.

Edit: Thanks invisible mod.

Quick question:

I know X-Men Legends (PS2) is a Greatest Hits title, but what about Platinum Hits (XBox) or Player's Choice (GC)? Anybody know?
Quick question:

It is a Platinum Hits, so I would assume it's also a Player's Choice.

If you can find 4 of near equal price . . . I can get 25% off any one game at any time . . .

I can't even find 2 of equal value that I want . . .
Anyone know if I can PM X-Men PS2 at BB and combine it with the $5 off any PS2 game McDonalds coupon so I can get the game for $5?
I like your thinking . . . but I doubt it. You want BB to match the $10 price and give you the $5 off coupon? Or you want EB to honor BB's coupon. Both seem like nonstarters to me.

But if you have the balls to ask, you just might get it to go.
Do you think EBGames will have a better deal for trading in an Xbox when the Xbox 360 comes out or should I do it during this deal?
considering that they sell a pre-played Xbox for $99.99 now, $70.00 is a pretty good deal. I would trade it in now, because later on it will prob hit the $50.00 trade in value mark.
This doesn't begin til 10/9
Well it's supposed to start on 10/9, but I received the EB news email for the special this morning, the 8th, at around 12:00-1:00am, clicked on the link for Doom 3, made the order, and got the free 3 day shipping, which I didn't know the shippping bonus was being extended from this current soon to be previous Doom 3 sale, but it did say in the bonus desciption, "not to be combined with other special offers" or something like that.............total was $21.86 after tax (TN).

I already received my order confirmation email from EB at 1:42am 10/8.

SKU Qty Unit Price Total Platform Name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$19.99 $19.99 XBX DOOM 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal: $19.99

Shipping: $0.00
Tax: $1.87
-------------
Total: $21.86

Why wait?

If they have a special and send out an ad for it via email, even though it might be a day and a half before it starts, go ahead and order if you can. Get it before they sell out!

I ordered a day and a half ahead of time when they had the Buy 3 get 1 free pre-owned special too last month.

I was going to pick up Call of Duty Xbox too, but I went ahead and ordered it separately 2 days ago, because it is/was $9.99, and during the special it's listed as $14.99, so I saved $3 bucks. Plus I went ahead and bought Jade Empire reg version for $14.99.

One of the deals says trade in 5 QUALIFYING games and get either NBA Live 06 or Tiger Woods 2006 for free. Does anyone know what these qualifying games are?

I would assume it is the regular PO titles.

I was poo pooing this deal until I saw this part and the B3G1F part. Now, I've got 43 PO titles that will have a new home on Monday.

Only if the BB cashier is too busy to call a manager. If a manager gets involved, you're boned.

Of course, BB might still have a X-Men marked $49.99. Then, BWHAHAHAHA!, you get $4 from a pricematch plus.

Another good place to nail is Sears. I don't know if they have X-Men, but it'll probably still be $49.99 if it's there.

it's EBGames wording pretty much. If you see a game that is "PO" it means Preowned and can be used for any deals. If you see a game labelled "POX" it means Preowned Excluded, and cannot be used for any deals.

My Sears does not have Xmen, but others could.

So I can use even my really old games like Madden 2001 for this deal? I would call the place but it's like 50 miles away and is probably long distance.

really contemplating placing this order:

Burnout revenge (xbox)
Mario Baseball (cube)
MK Shaolin Monks (xbox)
Radiata Stories (ps2)

Not bad, but I would wait for each to get to the $20 range and get them for sub-$15 PO ($13.50 if they go to $17.99 used) . . . so, I'd wait until next summer and get them all for under $60 . . . especially the game I want . . . Revenge . . . but no hurry.

But I'm a tight-ass cheap-ass!

Plus, I have tons of games to play already and I'm waiting to get God of War (and others) for cheap . . . so I can wait for any game.

Mario Tennis is still $49.99 after a year, and Mario Baseball is a better game... so I wouldn't count on that being anywhere near $20 before the Revolution is nearing release. The others, yeah, they'll drop.

Hey, did anyone else get this message "sorry, but our records show you have already used the max. number of buy3 get 1 codes," or is it just not working till tomorrow?

Yep, I had the same problem. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
If I ordered the X-Men Legends while it's at BO how long do you think it would take them to ship out?
Just a guess...by the end of this week. They must be expecting more shipment soon if they have the game on BO status versus it being sold out and not being able to order it at all.

Maybe a Plat. Hits shipment is due soon?

Has anyone heard anything about the "trade in 5 games and get either NBA Live 06 or Tiger Woods 2006 for free" deal? Does this deal include all pre-owned PS2 games? Just wondering because I have some old ones that I want to get rid of.

It will only include qualifying (PO) games. See this thread for a not quite up-to-date list:

Your beat up copy of Madden '01 won't cut it :D.

Edit - Hey, you asked this question yesterday, along with a follow-up and both got answered already. What's the deal?

Today I traded in 5 games for tiger woods but the deal was not in the system I geuss so it was giving me the 25% extra and then the guy tried calling his manager but he did not answer so since the store was mobbed and he was the only one working he just bumped up my totals and gave me an extra $7.51 on an edge card. Was pretty awesome

Just an FYI...I traded in my Gamecube this afternoon and received $30 trade-in credit. The system traded in at $25 and got a $5 promo bonus (#4092).

tried to pick up Metroid Prime and x-men at my local EB today. They claimed they had no more copies of x-men(xbox) when it was obvious they had 2 of them and then refused to sell me a used copy of Metroid for $4.99. Stating that all the games listed in the 2-day ad were only at those prices if you bought an xbox LIVE renewal card. I refused to pay the $7.99 for metroid(which appearantly shocked the guy... how dare I refuse...) and left.

Anyone else have this problem?

That sucks (that it isn't auto in the system). I'll wait until later in the week to try these deals... Would hate to waste a 40 mile round trip to have them tell me the "computer won't let me do it". As soon as the first person here is able to get the Tiger Woods or NBA Live '06 deals to work as they should (and the Zelda deal still does) let us know. Also, is NBA Live for PSP out yet? I show a release date of Oct 4th, but haven't seen it anywhere and there are NO reviews up at metacritic, which is just bizarre.

Picked up X-Men Legends for xbox and it was a non-PH version. When the guy rang it up it was still at 39.99 in the computer even though the ads were on the shelf and right next to the register. He said that the computer wasn't giving the sale price from the ad and he just had to manually type in the price.

I tried to pick up X-Men Legends for GameCube yesterday & it came up at $20. This store dosen't even bother to put out the flyers when they have these sales so I didn't bother trying to explain that it's on sale. I don't shop at this EBgames barely anyways store is a mess, some of the employees are your typical game store snobs that act as if your bothering them while they are talking if you need something. Last time I went into this store was to get Bard's Tale when it was $10. Next time I'll just order online so I don't have to risk wasting gas for nothing :D

I'm seeing that this must be a nationwide problem though with the price not being reduced as it usually is.

My brother just called me, and said the only way he was able to get Xmen Legends for Xbox was to get an Edge card, otherwise it would have still been 20$? What the hell is that about, makes no sense to me, I don't recall this on the flyers? He went ahead and got Legends, but had to get the card for it to be 10$. This really doesn't sound right.

Anyone try buying Xmen or FF:CC today? Are the prices fixed? You can try printing out the ad from ebgames.com, click on the october deals banner in the middle of the page. That has the flyer that the store is supposed to have.
