Now what happens to Xbox?

Will only crap games come out for it like when ps2 came out and ps1 had shitty games or wat?

I hope XBOX stays a classic because I have tons of games. It has so many classic game compilations. Hopefully Megaman X collection comes out for XBOX.

There will still be good games coming out for the Xbox even though the 360 has been released. But probably not much longer than the 1st quarter of '06.

Black might be the last good game that comes out for Xbox. I believe that comes out in March. I would recommend you look into upgrading into the current gen (Xbox 360).

I think the quality releases will, as rabbitt said, be coming until around 1st Quarter 2006. Maybe, if we're lucky, they'll last until 2nd Quarter. I think it depends, though. That and it's hard to see what's coming down the pipe. Personally, I can't wait for Xyanide to come out, along with a few other titles, and I simply can't wait until most XBox games drop in price to make room for more stock. There are around a dozen different titles I'd love to grab but even these Buy 2, Get 1 Free sales aren't really doing it for me at the moment.

Personally, I'm hoping for a "End Life" boom with budget titles. You know, where several companies feel that it's a good idea to flood a diminishing market with plenty of original budget games, quirky ports, and random things. I originally passed up most of them on the PS1 but over the past year I think I picked up a good lot of 15 of those titles for around $30 in total and they were all at least really good, if not totally worth $3, $4 (b/c, of course).

I would say that the Xbox won't completely die until the PS3 and Revolution come out to put the next generation in full swing. Right now it will still probally get bigger releases than the GameCube even though the Xbox's sequel is already out.

Plenty of multi-platform games will still be gracing the Xbox maybe up until the PS3 comes out. There probably won't be too many Xbox exclusive titles (besides any currently in dev), but I wouldn't panic yet.

I was reading about that the other day. Looks explosive.

I personally can't wait to grab all the Xbox games I've wanted since the system's launch for the cheap next year. I intend to still play my original Xbox a lot for the next year or so.

That is basically my plan as well.

i am hoping MS will lower the cost of xbox live for the original xbox(fat chance), then i would use the xbox like crazy

MS took a 4 billion dollar bath on the Xbox, and then rushed to be the first diner to the next gen table, what do you think will happen to it? They will keep Live going until Halo 3 arrives and thats about it. Of course third party support will continue, but as for MS developed titles and system exclusives? Forget about it.

I think that they will keep releasing games up until the PS3 arrives, and then Microsoft will focus on the next gen wars. The system is going to live through third part games that are multi-platform. I also cant wait for the companies to start dumping their games and the prices to drop, then I'll probably start buying the other games that I've wanted for the Xbox.

will halo3 be xbox or 360 or both?

i don't really care about the 360 at this point, but i am looking forward to xbox games dropping in price soon. they'll still be releasing titles for at least another year probably more considering the xbox's popularity.

No more first party support. There still might be a few third party games comin out but most comapnies will now start to shift there focus to next gen. Xbox games will drop in price and thats always good
i am hoping MS will lower the cost of xbox live for the original xbox(fat chance), then i would use the xbox like crazy
both Xbox and the 360 use the same service so the price won't drop (not for that reason, anyway)

We've got probably around a year left on the xbox or untl the PS3 enters the ballgame, once that happens, the xbox probably wont see any new titles, its happened this way with every video game system, some fade out slower than others but they all fade, been happening like from the beginning. The good thing is just think of all the cheap, clearance games we will be able to get.

That's how I see it as well. Until the new generation kicks into full swing, there will still be games. Until PS3 comes out, there will be tons of PS2 games, and I suspect that many of these will also get ported to the xbox.

Yes, plenty of releases for the Xbox that are bigger than The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

We have a real Einstein here, guys!:p

I think the releases will become smaller and smaller, and by the middle of next year we will see little quality titles for the xbox. Not as bad as the PS2 era versus the PS1 till probably 2007 though. The 360 craze is extremely bad and It looks like people are willing to fork over a good amount of cash to get their hands on one. People are willing to spend the extra money for next gen games, and the older XBox will get little attention down the road.

will it really take almost a year to get the next gen gaming into "full swing"?

i think the full swing next gen craze is upon us and ready to explode. i'm wondering how consumers will hold off pulling the trigger on the 360, when the alternative is to wait until fall 06 at the soonest for another competing console. somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but ps3 release is spring 06 IN JAPAN meaning us release will follow in 6 months if the ship transporting them across the ocean doesn't eat an iceberg. revolution has already said around fall 06 right?

americans are just notorious for impatience and being consumer whores. i just think with no high definition alternative to next gen gaming for damn near a year, people will pick up a 360. i'm not even factoring in available games for each system. i don't know if it matters when there is such a time gap between releases.

Just look at the PS2 and Xbox lineup next year. The PS2 has great games coming out in US and Japan for at least 8 months from Sony and third parties. The Xbox lineup has no first or second party support, andmost of the thrid party games are also PS2. Most of those games could get X360 port too. For example EA's lineup is going to be on Xbox, X360, and PS2.

I plan on playing my XBOX for the next year and play all the games I missed and then picking up a 360 this summer, when I can work full time and have money!

Expect multiplatformers to flood the XBOX. Look for the Tom Clancy games and the EA Sports line in particular to end up on the XBOX. By the time the 360 starts to hit its stride with "can't miss" titles, there will be price drops galore.

it seems like a better business decision to continue releasing games on an ESTABLISHED base, until all of the next gen consoles are out and a developer can decide where to put their cards. Sure, the 360 has sold well so far, but its still no match for the xbox 1 user base. Why develop for a base thats...what....a couple million worldwide in a few months or 20 million+ (xbox 1) now

that would make sense considering it will be about 8 months+ before PS3 is released in the states. will most of those be ps2 exclusives or multi platform?

i hope they lower the price of the console and all the games soon , i still think the xbox is a great sytem the graphics are not bad at all and they have halo

wont happen as MS stop producing xbox. If anything, they raised the price with the new Foza bundle.

better hold onto your old xbox. the old games ive played on my new 360 play like crap. halo 2 system link was a bust, full of lag and we kept getting an "out of sync" error. i dont think they put the full effort into backwards compatibility

Yup, it's going to be like the last days of the DC all over again. Good times & Cheap games.

Still have Black, SC: Double Agent, and some other titles coming our way.

But yeah the fun is going to be grabing all the games for cheap.

Double Agent is coming out on 360 as well.

I'm not conerned about getting many new, big releases for the Xbox while I wait for the 360. I plan on buying older games for cheap that I've missed out on. Although, Black does look fucking awesome.

Word is that the current line in the stores is the LAST produced run for the xbox. Hmm...maybe i should have bought an xbox on black friday instead of a ps2 :|

I honestly doubt they'll stop production that soon. I'm guessing MS will continue to produce the original Xbox for a few more years but only offer it in bundle packages like what we're seeing now.
