NYC/Westchester/other lower NY CAG's

Defender's store is open. Under new management but it's still around.

I can't name any good game stores here in westchester. You live in Larchmont right? I live in Scarsdale. I assume you know the places in Chinatown and such. This might be off topic by why the hell does the gamerush in Larchmont near the Ice rink suck so much ass?

I've only been there once, it isn't even in their official list of locations. All our stores suck ass. Target never clearances anything, and IDK if you got most of the stuff but TRU had nothing green tagged (they had it back at 50%, guess alot went away back then.) That CC/target in white plains was really a blessing wasn't it?

Yeah it was. And no I never even went to the TRU. They are so terrible that I don't waste my time other then the B2GO deall every year.

Sorry for the rampant paranoid accusation! :D

I'm in Chappaqua, usually just shop at the GameStop in Thornwood or the EB in Ossining. I went to the TRU in White Plains a couple weeks ago to stock up on cheap Jampaks. If anyone does know of an indy gamestore in Westchester, I'd appreciate it mucho, especially if they do imports. What Gamerushes are in Westchester, I've never seen any.

The one great sale was when KB Toys dropped the prices on all those great games a year ago. It was the one on central avenue near the two movie theaters. That was the only good slae I remember around here.

I can direct you to places in NYC but otherwise there are no import stores in westchester. And the gamerush in westchester I know of is in Larchmont but no one has every used it.
Dragons Den in Poughkeepsie has a very nice selection. i even got a sealed Rez there.
Yeah there is another Dragon's Den more southern from you, it must be a semi-local thing. I don't like the environment of the store so I never go in there though. Maybe I should check it out.,

32nd Street Games in NYC is good for current games. They sell most of their stuff for less than list price, so a brand new $50 game will be like $46, and $20 games are $18. It's across the street from the Manhattan Mall.

Game Express, word out on the street is that they're closed down. And Dragon's Den sucks. Long story why I will never go back there.

Here on Long Island there's this badass place called Games USA. The prices actually aren't that great, but the SELECTION is amazing. They've got tons of used stuff from every era imaginable; you can actually get used Atari 2600 or frigging VIRTUAL BOY games there. Plus they've got tons of import merchandise. A very non-corporate type of place, which is sweet. Plus they *may* also provide... ah... certain "warranty-voiding services" for various gaming consoles. Definitely check it out if you are in the Bellmore area.

In china town I think elizabeth street and canal in a mini mall they have a video game shop I always go there u can find hidden gems there . I got Shin magami nocturne for 30 bux when it was first released used but it had no scratches . Also I got rygar there for 30 too and there were no scratches on them they are an import store also , then across the street is J and L which is expensive but offer up a really good selection of games and alot of neo geo games to.

Looks like they moved to NJ.

I'm not suprised they closed.
There was an EB, GameStop, and KBtoys within one block from their store.

So I guess that makes Defender's old store the last of the Manhattan Indie stores outside of Chinatown.

Unfortunately Cheapy its true. I miss the old days with all the great video game stores.

I remember seeing that video game store across the Manhattan Mall salmonaxxx mentioned but I never went in. There was a place in Chinatown I used to go since it was right next to the Fung-Wah bus stop. The only thing I got from there though was an original Chrono Cross for $15. Other than that, I can't think of any. That Target in White Plains is ok, I think the only good thing I found there was SSX Tricky for the cube for $2 or something.

Maybe we can make this a place to post deals in the NYC/Westchester area, kinda like how the MA CAG thread was.
