2.99 for PC users.

This is the 2nd mage quest. I was hoping for a Dark Brotherhood or Fighters Guild. Oh well I'll still get this. I love Bethesda

After the Thieves' Den my jets have cooled a little on all this DLC for Oblivion. Most of them are pretty lackluster. I'm hoping this one actually adds a quest instead of just "kill everything in this dungeon and then buy furniture for it".

Man, the more they release the more I believe they are just selling cheats/crappy mods.

The world of Oblivion won't stop expanding. Listed on the official download site is a preview for yet another piece of content, Mehrunes' Razor. This represents the fifth piece of pay-for-download content released since the retail version hit shelves in March.

When it's released, Mehrunes' Razor will give players the ability to explore the largest dungeon in Cyrodiil, acquire 17 new magic items, 12 new books and notes for extra backstory, and, most importantly, acquire a new Daedric Artifact. Called Mehrunes Razor, the item will allow for instant enemy kills.

The plotlines associated with the download revolve around the dagger falling into the wrong hands. Your task will be, not surprisingly, to prevent such a potentially disastrous occurrence from taking place. At $2.99 for the PC, this will be the most expensive download yet. As of now there's no indication of the Xbox 360 download price, but so far both PC and console prices have been practically identical.

So let's recap on what they released so far. Horse Armor, mage guild quest, 2 kickin' rad hideout/giant castle and 1 quest that gives you an item that does can do instant enemy kills.

I will be DL this in about 10 mins.....this game is great and I doubt ill use the weapon in this quest but ill take the dungeon

I'm stuck after closing the first Oblivion Gate. One of the guys outside asked for help and I said sure, not knowing that it would be brutal inside Kavatch. I get my ass kicked everytime I go in. I'm hoping that I can do this quest get the Knife and hopefully when I get back, they're still waiting for me inside the town.

A little off topic, but I wonder if these downloadable contents will still be available, say in 3+ years?

For the people who don't pick up a 360 until well later into its lifespan, and then buy Oblivion for ten bucks at some CC clearance, I'm curious if these contents will still be up at MS's server for them to purchase and D/L. Would suck if they weren't.

So, I bought it and I must say its much better than the last 3 downloadable quests. The new dungeon is huge, its about the size of three regular caves or ruins and has a mixture of architecture from both. Lots of cool new items and armor too.

when you find the assasin in the jail cell, kill him, his light armor is really sweet

Thanks for the tip, will most definately do that.

Out of curiosity, is he just an innocent bystander?

I have two theories --

1. They will still be available at full price.

2. They will still be available, but the price will either be reduced individually, or multiple updates will be combined into a reduced price package.

I don't see why they'd take them down, since they don't take up much server space.

What kind of weapon is the Mehrunes Razor? Longsword? Dagger?
Also how does the one hit kill deal work? Does the weapon just have a very high damage rating or is it some kind of magic effect?

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a GOTY edition.

Ditto, probobly when it goes Platinum Hits or whatever the X360 series will be called.

I imagine that, when there is a GOTY edition, it will have more in-depth extras, in comparison to the downloadable content -- new enemies, new weapons, new cities, etc.

I saw this up for download for the PC the other day... it honestly looks to be worth the price, a huge ass dungeon complete with a new quest? Sign me up.

And for the people still bitching about the horse armor, get over it, go to EB / GS where they have tons of coupons to download it for free... it's almost like Bethesda knew it was a mistake charging $2 for it.

I thought they were universal, I didn't really look at the coupon that much.

Maybe they're just on PC, though... I could be wrong. I just saw they were free horse armor downloads and I grabbed one.

If anyone can confirm they can be used for the 360 I'll run out there tonight and pick one up.

From everything I've seen in other forums, its PC only.

same here - thanks for the heads up - sounds like this'll be another diversion that keeps me from starting the main quest

Not to threadcrap but...

Should I give Oblivion another shot? Everyone raves about the gameplay and graphics but it just didn't do it for me. I quit after the first newbie dungeon (which I played through twice).... and never logged back into the game.

EDIT: I played the PC version with a 7900 GT for what it's worth

I would definately say yes. I was ready to give up after the first dungeon/prison area. Once you're out in the open world, the posibilites are endless.
