Odama or Battalion Wars any good?

Spades22

CAGiversary!
Are any of these games good? I'm thinking of picking them up at eb games on the 29th, so for 10 bucks its a pretty good deal. I just don't want to buy crap.

Oh and also for Odama do I have to use the Mic to play? And do I have to talk in it alot if I do have to use it?

Battallion Wars is pretty fun and engaging if you like real-time military action and the Advance Wars sensibility.

Can't really speak for Odama, having never played it... Probably one of the few Nintendo-published 'Cube games that I won't ever buy.

Yep no way I'd ever pay more than 10$ for it...but its so darn cheap! How about Donkey Konga or Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Oh and also how is Viewtiful Joe? I cant see I overly liked the first one even though I have it...actually it's the only game I ever bought that I didn't take the time to beat...

Odama and Battalion Wars are 10$ at EB games on the 29th ONLY IN CANADA! So ya...super cheap. Heck you can sell them on EBAY for more than that. Only game you cant really is viewtiful joe 2 and jungle beat. The rest you can easily get your money back. (I never used EBAY though so I dont know if the buyer pays for shipping or the seller lol)

Ohh Canada only :(

I can't see Odama not being worth 10$ unless you have absolutely no interest in pinball, I've played it a little bit and it was pretty fun, a little on the hard side but it was definately a unique expierance and for only 10$ I'd recommend it.

Good I love hard. Gamecube games I find quite easy...so hard modes are great. I actually found viewtiful joe pretty hard though... on harder modes. Anyway Fire Emblem I love, Pinball is addicting...just the mic for Odama im not sure how well that woudl work.

The mic actually worked pretty well for me

Ya I saw trailers...both looked pretty awesome. I'm definitely going to get both that day. I think i'll get donkey konga for my siblings as well since they like those type of interactive games 100 times more than me and they come with bongos for only 10 bucks. Umm how about viewtiful joe 2? Is that any different compared to the first? Is it worth 10 dollars...?

Can't speak for Battalion Wars, 'cuz I don't have it (If you want to pick me up a copy for cost + shipping, you'd be my hero!)

As for Odama... Man, I love this game. It's frickin' sweet. However, I love odd little games and I can honestly admit that a lot of people (a majority, if you will) won't much care for this game.

First, it's Pinball - except the Pinball physics don't really play like most Pinball games. Then, there are your troops. Despite your best efforts, your troops will continue to figure out how to kill themselves on a regular basis.

The controls are pretty dead-on. Of course, flippers are flippers and the tilt function is the tilt function (and not a "bump", as most pinball games have - you actually tilt the playing field), but the voice commands are dead-on. You'll be yelling into the mic for your troops to move and the neighbors will think you're crazy.

The difficulity level in this game is crazy. Between keeping your ball on the field, keeping your troops alive and advancing and not running out of time, you'll be hardpressed to win the game.

At $50, I wouldn't reccomend this game to a lot of people, although I don't regret my purchase at all. For $10? Hell yeah. Even if you absolutly hate the game, you'll get $10 worth of play out of it.

I've never used EBAY before lol. Does the buyer or seller pay for shipping anyway? Umm and for Odama do I HAVE to use the mic?

Donkey Konga is possibly the best music game this generation... especially with multiple players, although you'll need extra bongos for that, which can make a DK party kinda pricey.

Jungle Beat is seriously not to be missed. It's definitely on the short side, but it's brilliant fun, and you'll probably find yourself playing through it several times. Be sure to get the Jungle Beat set with bongos, though, or get a pair separately.

Viewtiful Joe is pretty unique, and a lot of people loved it (obviously enough to warrant a sequel), but I never got into it personally. For $10, it's worth it, though.

Cool...do the DK Konga bongos work with jungle beat? Cause jungle beat comes with no bongos but konga does...

While you don't *need* the mic to play Odama, you won't get very far without it. In fact, you cannot beat the first level (or any level, for that matter) without the mic... So, yes, you'll be using the mic.

Just as an FYI, the cord on the mic is about 4 feet long, and there's no way to put an extension cable on it (it plugs into the MEMORY CARD slot...weird...). I picked up the game, unpacked it & plugged in the mic, saw that it would barely reach the corner of my couch, then packed it all back up & returned it.

A shame too, since I usually like quircky games - but I'm not rearranging my entire setup just to play one game.

Oh well my TV is in my room and its like 3 feet away from me, I just measured lol...so I guess that would work. I think I'll get odama and battalion wars for sure since if I dont like them I can trade them in or sell them on ebay for the same price. I think I'll get Konga too...Viewtiful joe 2 and Jungle Beat I'm not sure about though. People dont seem to buy them on EBAY really and jungle beat doesn't come with bongos. How much does a new Viewtiful Joe 2, Jungle beat, or Konga sell for right now? Oh and say if you talking in USA or Canada dollars.
