I am contemplating whether or not I should download FF7 on the PSN. To make a long story short, I use to have the discs but now they are no where to be found. I still have the PS1 game save ON my PS3 currently. Will I be able to use that game save with the PSN version of FF7?

I googled it and got mixed answers... like this.

I used my old PS1 saves on FF8, so I would assume you would be able to on FF7. It's pretty much a direct port of the PS1 game, you have to "switch disc" like you would on the PS1.

FF8 was downloaded from the PSN? and then you had a game save(s) from the disc version?

and how do you "switch disc" with the PSN version?

You press the PS button and choose Switch Disc, or something to that effect. It's really easy. And yes, you can use saves from disc versions of the game for the PSN versions.

i had no problems transferring FF7 files between my PS1 memory card, PS3 and PSP. i was able to use the save files on all 3 systems. so i can play for a few days on the psp, transfer the save to my ps3 and pick up the game at home.
