Does anyone know how well oddworld strangers wrath sold? Just kinda curious. I'm a big fan of oddworld but thought the new game was aliittle repetative.

Don't have the figures to back it up, but it sold POORLY.
EA didn't market it very well, and Lorne Lanning was kind of upset over the fact they didn't, possibly because the game wasn't on PS2, so EA didn't see fit to spend money on marketing it.

This was pretty much the last straw for Lorne Lanning and he closed his studio and is planning on making CG television/movies (with his IP's I'm sure), if you didn't know.

i rented it and it was pretty fun, waiting for the price to drop since there are lots of copies waiting to be clearanced.

I dont know the sales numbers but my cousin got this at EB used 2 days after it came out (they had 2 used copies). I dont know whether thats good or bad but i assume bad.

Gamerankings.com gives it near a 90% average, maybe one person was just pissed It wasn't the next Halo, and the other probably was a retard who thought it was an RPG.

IGN reported at one time that it sold only like 29,000 copies... Ridiculously low.

Personally, I did not like the game that much. The live ammo and all that stuff was pretty lame. It didn't have the funniness or the appeal of the other oddworld games. I liked Munch's Odyssey much better and the original Abe games were awesome. I hope he brings back Abe for the CG movies...

I dont want to make it sound like i dont like the game because i like it alot from what i've played but i was just saying its kind of odd. For all i know it was probably some guy who stole those copies and sold em to EB for cash.

I really wanted to like this game, even though I never really played any other Oddworld games. I thought it was really lame too, like the developers couldn't decide the direction of the game.

I think I saw a couple of commercials for it, but I don't think there's any way it could've appealed to the 'mainstream' gamers. Stranger was too Odd for its own good unfortunately.

Shit! I thought it sold low... but that low? That alot worse than Beyond Good and Evil! *cries*

It was a very good game but yet again it didn't do enough to appeal to the avg. gamer. This is why most games never make it. No matter how big a name you might have or how good the game is, without the interest of the avg. gamer you'll fail. That's why games like driv3r will outsell metroid prime 2, beyond G&E, Oddworld and PoP:ST combined.
