Did anyone here buy items from OfficeMax during the Thanksgiving sale? Have you guys received your rebates?

Got home today and see that they sent me postcards saying my rebate had invalid postmark dates. Checked on their website and all except one (which coincidentally happens to be the lowest one at $6) has been marked invalid for the same reason. The thing is I mailed them all at the same time!!!! And all were mailed before the deadline.

They've screwed me before, similar to this situation - where I mailed all of them at the same time but only a couple are marked valid.

If they ask me to prove it, how will I be able to? My only leverage is that I mailed all of them at once and 1 rebate is valid so how could the others not be. I've got $60, correction $80 worth of rebates that they say are invalid!

just call the number - they will usually say something like "Well I'm not supposed to put I'll validate them this one time" - they pull shit like that all the time unfortunately.

Thanks for reminding me to check the status of mine :)

I don't think you can really prove anything in this case. The only proof is on the envelopes you sent in, which would have been postmarked by the PO. Of course, you have no way of obtaining them, as they are now in the hands (or trash can) of the rebate office of OfficeMax. Unless you did any kind of certified mail or delivery confirmation, something like that, it's their word against yours.

Try what Mighty said, this is probably your only option.

I really hate mail in rebates. I usually only do officemax and staples. Never had a problem with either. *knocks on wood*

I've used staples also and never had a problem with them. I think they use online rebate forms now which is really hassle free.

Office Max is the worst I've experienced. I plan to call them as soon as it's business hours.

- That article is completely true. OfficeMax has huge problems with their rebate system. They're also the only store that I know of where the rebate has to be postmarked within 14 days bought. I will NEVER shop at their store ever again - just can't trust them anymore.

They also claim that my leather chair rebate was valid because of the postmark date. Although I did mail them on the last date possible, I was 100% sure that the post office postmarked it on the same day. Sigh....

On a brighter note, it seems my $12 rebate on slim cases came though. Now I'm just waiting for them to mail me the rebate (this was last month though...).

Its funny I have a $50 rebate from Fryes approved 6 months ago (got a email saying it was accepted) and have yet to receive it. I need to call them about this.

I know BB is the devil, but at least they send the rebates fast! I usually get mine in less than a month from the time I send it in.

Good luck with yours.
