PC Who Shot Johnny Rock - .25
PC World of Warcraft - $2

No story behind Who Shot Johnny Rock. Went across the street to see an older couple that had some PC games for sale mostly FPS anywere from a year to afew years old $2-3 each saw World of Warcraft and was surprised asked them about it and they said it was their son's or grandson's (can't remember which) They had no idea about the world of online gaming & I asked them if they would do 2 and they said ok. The game was in perfect condition & came with everything I'm thinking that the owner didn't like it or didn't relize you had to pay to play online & just wanted to get rid of it. I also saw some records and was thinking about getting a Black Sabbath - Masters of Reality record but they said they wanted $1 and I didn't feel like haggling since I knew I wouldn't use it and would just be getting it to have it.

Dreamcast system only (broken)
Nintendo 64 with boomerang controller & power supply (4 Meg Expansion included)
$2 for both

I saw both of these systems at a sale with no games with them or any prices. I asked about the systems & if they worked and the lady said that they were her brother's she called him up asked if they worked and how much & he said didn't know & $2. The Dreamcast didn't work wouldn't read games & also had the old resetting problem. I didn't think to check for a 4 meg expansion but after I took a picture of the system I was happy to see that it did have a 4 meg expansion included :D

I can't remember if it's been mentioned or is one of the tips in the 1st post of this thread but if not it's always a good idea to try and remember to check NES systems to see if they has a game in the system & to check for 4 meg expansions in N64s. As these things are very simple ideas yet very easy to forget about when yardsale(ing).

7 M.U.S.C.L.E. figures - .10

I'm sure afew others here remember these from back in the day for only a dime I couldn't pass this up

http://www.x-entertainment.com/messages/musc.html

Wolfenstein 3D for Mac - .10

No story for this one really

The Osbournes Season 1 Censored DVD - $2

No story to this one either asked $2 and I figured it was good enough

WWF Summerslam 1999 DVD - $2

I wanted to buy another wrestling DVD (No Mercy 2001) if I could get a price break but the lady said she couldn't as it belonged to someone who wasen't around so I only went with Summerslam as I remember it being pretty good that year and couldn't resist when I saw that it had a match with Al Snow from when he had that little dog he used to carry around (Pepper)

Foo Fighters - Self Titled tape - .25

Said .50 got for .25 it was kind of funny cuase the lady said that her son would probably shot her for doing .25 :lol:

1 Genesis Ghetto Ass Cadash with no manual - $1

1st yardsale I hit up said GameCube games in the paper got to the sale didn't see a single GameCube game when I asked about the GameCube stuff the lady said that her brother decided he wanted them so they were all sold before the sale even started....smart people here :lol: Afew big ladies at this sale white trash at it's best, the one lady had a mustashe growing in to give you an idea what I was dealing with here :D I did see a genesis 3 in a box with about a dozen games pretty beat up all crap games only desent stuff I saw was Aliens 3, Arrowflash & Cadash. I asked how much for Cadash $1 & I offered $5 for the whole lot & showed the money, said she wanted to sell it for $10 no chance in hell I would have paid more then $5 for this ghetto lot I was actually thinking she did me a favor not letting me have it for $5. One of the controllers even had the back plastic piece broken off.

PS2 Max Payne
PS1 Tekken big case non-grestest hits big school case
$3 for both

was just after 11:30 when I got to this sale picked up both of these games & asked the guy if he would do both for $3 as they each said $5 on them. The guy pointed out that they were each $5 as if $3 was cutting alittle to low to which I said would you do Max Payne at least for $3 which he was cool with then he just said you can just have them both for $3 and basicly said that the games were pretty much worth nothing as I'm sure he was figuring after seeing them sit all morning with a price of $5 & not going anywhere fast.

PS2 Dark Cloud 2 - $2 (I think this was meant to be 7 but looked like a 2)
PS2 Hack Infection bonus DVD included - $5
PS1 Crash Bash (GH) - $1
GB Mega Man - $1
GBC Pokemon Silver (Missing Sticker) - $1
GBC Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - $1
GBC Dragon Warrior Monsters - $1
N64 Gauntlet Legends - $1
N64 Pokemon Puzzle League - $1

I found this sale just afew sales & afew blocks away from where I got my ghetto copy of Cadash. It was unadvertised AFAIK or at least didn't mention video games if it was advertised in the paper. It was kind of funny as I was driving by saw a sign out in front of the one house & though maybe I should look into it. I pulled over at a sale about half a block past this house to find nothing figured I'd walk back to what was up at this house. I noticed that they took the sign down but I saw a kid coming from the backyard so I asked him if they were having a yardsale in the backyard and he said yep. Only reason I can think that they took the sign down (if I wasen't seeing shit & I really did see a sign that was taken down) was that they were still setting stuff up set up the sign then had a change of heart & decided to take the sign back as to not attract people to the yardsale yet so they wouldn't be flogged with people while finishing up on setting up everything for sale. They had all the stuff set up on picnic tables & I did take notice to the fact that one or two of the tables were empty & that maybe they were gonna be bringing out more stuff to fill them up. I was probably the first one to the sale as it was about 8:30 & was the only one at the sale. This was easily the best sale I saw overall all weekend videogame wise. $1 PSX games, $1 N64 games $3 N64 with afew controllers & power supply but no AV cable, non of the PS2 games over $5 except for Dark Cloud 2 which I think was suppose to be $7 but looked like a 2 as the kid was also selling Dark Could (GH) for $5. Both Prince of Persia games for the PS2 at $5 & amougnst the PS1 games IIRC he had all the Spyro games at $1....the kind of prices that you go hunting at yardsales for!!! I picked up all the games I have listed above except the Pokemon Puzzle league game & added it up to $13 in my head, assuming that Dark Cloud 2 was meant to be $2 not $7. The same kid that was coming from the backyard earlier that I asked if they were having a yardsale to actually ended up being the kid that owned the games & was selling them I asked him if he would do all those games (minus the pokemon puzzle) for $10 and he said sure. Then I decided to grab Pokemon Puzzle League for another dollar & was on my way so the prices I have listed above from this sale were the asking price ($14) but I actually paid $11.

Total Spent - $23.70

Sorry if the stories are abit hard to follow as English was never my best class :) but I think & hope that I did good enough for one reading to follow even if I don't have it put together well enough to get me a good grade if it was something I was doing for an english class.

Also sorry about the glare on the pictures I need to figure something out to do better on taking them as I noticed some pretty good glaze (especially on Tekken)
Damn thats a huge haul...nice going

I'm having a yard sale and not selling anything games related.

The last time I saw a lot of games being sold is when I was younger and they were all the NES games. I wish I had money then to buy them.
damn thats a huge quote that was completely unnecessary.
sorry i was in a hurry and didnt even think about it

Well, another weekend of pawn shops, swap meets, and a few garage sales...I definitely need to start going out on Saturdays (this one was out due to family issues) from now on.

I did pick up a mint Wild Arms 3 from the swap meet for 5 bucks today, and Tecmo Bowl for the NES w/ manual for .50 from a garage sale near my place, so I can't call it a total loss.

Next weekend...definitely unplugging the phone. ;)

Well, not a whole lot for me this weekend, my best scores were at a local Pawn and Goodwill.

Got Seinfeld Seasons 1&2 for $8 at the Pawn Shop, and a 25 pack of DVD+R media (sealed) for $5 at Goodwill.

I got some okay stuff this weekend.

The first pic is of all my finds this weekend, except for an 8 port switch for $2.

n64 bag $1
Sam & Max $2
Frank Herbert's Dune $0.50
Outlaw Golf $0 ( They couldn't trade it in, so they gave it to me.)
Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego complete and several books $2
plastic drawer $1 ( need storage for games)

and the Big find for $3:

Final Fantasy
Dragon Warrior II
Star Wars
Dragon Spirit
X-Men
Super Mario Land 2

Thos games are pretty dirty. It's going to take a lot of cleaning. The sad thing is that I'm not going to be hitting too many more sales. I got Friday and Saturday classes starting up.

I still can not find a Sega Saturn. No one in my area has one.

Nice! I remember that Twisted Game Show game from back in the day (my cousin got a 3DO at launch). The preacher contestant is pretty amusing.
ugh carmen sandiego was one sucky game back in the day.
I just threw it in with those books. Not that great of a find, but it's complete with the desk encyclopedia. I checked and it has a rarity rating of 5 at digital press. It'll look good with the other nes games.

Just wish I could find some of those not as popular consoles like the saturn. The one person who I've talked to that had one sold it at their last sale.

I haven't seen alot of Saturn stuff at any yardsales around my area this summer either. It's kind of funny as I have found Saturn stuff at two sales this whole summer & they were both on the same day. The second sale I saw saturn stuff at I didn't get anything because the lady wanted too much for my tastes. Had about 12-15 games including Virtua Cop 2 with the gun & the Sega made arcade stick all in boxes. The Saturn was also boxed & when I opened it it was an old version with the oval buttons. This yardsale reminded me of stories I read on CAG of pawnshops with no prices on games & how the prices are gonna be on the high side if that's the case as this also was true with this yardsale. When I first got there an older lady told me that all the games were 6 dollars a piece as I just started looking at the games before I even asked. Then I asked the younger lady who seemed to live at this house & was running the sale (as she was sitting at a table with all the money) about the Saturn stuff to which she said she wanted $100 for all the Saturn stuff & $40 for just the system (which I asked how much for if she would only sell me the system) which was too much for me seeing as I was only mostly interested in Virtua Fighter Kids & Virtua Cop 2 as I only wanted the system as a backup. I probably would have tried talking down at least alittle bit even if she gave me prices that were half as much and I didn't even bother trying to haggle the Saturn any lower thinking that I would have only gotten her down to half of what she was asking at first at best. After I asked about the Saturn stuff I asked how much she'd give me Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles for to which she said $15 to which I offered $5 she said she'd do $7 which I wouldn't :D Reminds me of some of the people on CAG that talk about getting different prices from different people on something at a pawn shop just even worse to be dealing with it at a yardsale in a sense :lol: After that I walked away without even bothering to see what I could get at least Virtua Fighter Kids & or Virtua Cop 2 for. I should have gone back later that day to see how bad they really wanted to get rid of the stuff as at those prices I don't thing they would have been cleaned out by the end of the day.

Anyways as I was thinking before I started rambling on I'd also like to luck out & find some of the less popular stuff at a yardsale also. I'd really like to find some Sega Master System or Turbo Grafix 16 stuff myself. I always like to think that someone will have a TG-16 at a yardsale in my area and that no one will be interested in it as if people don't remember it so they won't be interested at all & it will just be waiting for me :D

Have any of you ever had trouble cleaning vents on systems?

ex:
Vents on the NES
Ridges on Genesis model 2
Speaker ridges on Gamboy original

I recently discovered an easy solution: Use a toothbrush! I just dip it in water, spritz off the excess, and brush away. It takes out all of the dust and gunk that gets stuck in the grooves, and it takes only minutes when it used to take me hours with a toothpick. Can't believe it took me so long to think of it.
snot, i have to ask a favor do you know how to add your collection when ever you post on the thread, like suprtnr2
click on the link VB code at the bottom of the thread. It will give you a detailed breakdown. When you're ready put the info in your sig and the link will be on all your posts

I've been using one for some time now and use a hard bristle brush. Also for cleaning the top half of the NES game deck casing, i take it apart and run it under the sink and scrub with some dish detergent and dry thouroughly. there's nothing on it that can be damaged by water. After I'm done using my magic eraser on my systems I wipe everything down with armor-all and buff to a beautiful shiny lustre

I did manage to find a Sega Master System and an atari 2600 at a sale for $10 a few weeks back. Do you know of any good games for the master system. I think it had three games and the light gun with it. I still need to test that.

I've heard some people mention the TG-16 and I've kept an eye out for one, but I've never seen one. What are some good TG-16 games to look for? To be honest, I don't think I ever saw the TG-16 in stores. When did that come out?

I do remember seeing 2 or 3 people in this thread that found a little Master Systems love this year, you being one :) You will have to post here when you getting around to trying out the light gun to say if it works as alot of the light guns & 3D Glasses end up being broken if you find them nowadays. I know I have 1 or 2 broken zappers & 1 broken pair of 3D glasses myself, and non that work :(

Here are some games I liked playing back in the day on the Master System

Fantasy Zone
Zillion
Wonder Boy (same game as Adventure Island on NES which came after Wonder Boy)
Wonder Boy in Monster Land
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap
Phantasy Star (Best 8-bit US RPG IMO and many others would agree & the game that got me into RPGs)
Aztec Adventure
My Hero
Rambo
Alex Kidd In Mircle World
Ghostbusters
Kenseiden
Reggie Jackson Baseball (good for an old baseball game IMO)
Shinobi

These are just some my personal favorites the SMS had other good games also. Here are afew other threads about the master system where others CAGs suggest some games they remember playing on the SMS

This might be helpful to you or anyone else that has found 1st model SMS in recent years and didn't know about this
[5.1] I'VE HEARD ABOUT A BUILT-IN, HIDDEN GAME? WHAT GIVES?

The original model of the SMS has a built in, code accessible maze game;
your goal is to guide a small snail through a series of different levels.
Not much play value, but it's a nice extra to have.

If you own an original model SMS without a built in game...
Turn on your SMS and wait for the instruction screen to appear. With
controller 1, press up and hold buttons 1 and 2.

If you own an original model SMS with a built in game...
First, hold down the sequence given above. While holding, turn the machine
on and wait.

The SMS II (and possibly late released versions of the SMS I with 2
games built-in) do not have the snail maze game.
The TG-16 came out in the US about the same time the Genesis did IIRC. It was dubbed as a 16-bit system but from what I remember It wasen't technically a 16-bit system & wasen't as powerful as the Genesis or SNES.

The only store that carried TG-16 stuff in my area back in the day was Electronics Boutique & while I did have a TG-16 I didn't have & get to try as many TG-16 games as I did for the more popular systems.

Here are some games I remember that I liked playing back in the day

Any of the Bonk's Adventure games
Splatterhouse
Blazing Lasers
Keith Courage in Alpha Zones
Legendary Axe I & II
Alien Crush (Pinball Game)
Devil's Crush (Pinball Game)
Cadash
Pac-Land

picked up a couple little goodies today at a local flea market

Cinderella matted and framed commerative lithograph - $1.50
Aristocats matted and framed commerative lithograph - $1.50

Sega CD - Chuck Rock II - sealed (the shrink wrap has some serious damage though) - $1

Didn't get much this week.

Sega Smash Pack 1&2 for the pc $0.50
Citizen Kane DVD for $2
30 gig Tape drive with tape for $0.25
Abit Serillel IDE to Sata adaptor $0.25

I also picked up an atari 2600 third party controller for $2. It was in perfect condition with no dirt. It was a little much but I needed at least one good controller. The only other ones of mine are crap.

You know you can use Genesis controllers with the 2600, right? Maybe you prefer the joystick, but for me, Atari games are a lot less painful on the hands when played with a Genesis controller.

1 Super Mario Kart 64 (N64, cart only)

11 lb. box of Legos
Paid: $5

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, the yardsale season may very well be winding down. We visited only 22 yardsales this week.

The N64 games were purchased yesterday at a small sale that had signs up near our neighborhood. The kid was probably 15-16 years old, and he was selling several N64 and PS2 games, an N64 system, and a couple of third-party controllers. Most of the games were crappy sports titles, so we picked up the good games. The girls hanging around him were saying how Pokemon Snap was so boring, and we could have it for a penny. The kid didn't seem too keen on that.

We saw some PS1 games at another sale. They were asking $3 each. We offered $1 for MediEvil. The guy looks at the game and says "Wait a minute! This isn't even mine." Then turns to his wife, "This is my brother's, I can't sell this." And he brings it back into the house. We should've asked the wife, she would've had no idea. Ah well.

The guy selling the Legos had an interesting approach. The box said, "Fill a small bag for $1" (standard brown lunch bags). I asked how much he'd take for the whole box. He said, "Well, there's about $15-20 worth of Legos in here." I said thanks and then thought about giving him another offer. I almost didn't offer anything because after he said $15-20, I figured he wouldn't go too low. But evilmax reminded me of one of the yardsale rules: always make an offer. So I offered him $5 and he said "Sure!" without hesitation. I was surprised, but of course very happy! Then he added, "Just so you know, they've already been picked over a bit." I told him that was not a problem at all. Then he said, "And I got a special bonus for you!" He went back into the garage and grabbed 3 bases. So that was cool! We weighed them when we got home and they came to 11 lbs., which is the largest lot of Legos I've purchased this summer!

Hope you all had some luck this week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bought everything at 1 yardsale. Said "Sega Saturn & many games" in the ad in the paper so I made it my first stop which I got to about 5 minutes or less of when the yardsale started.
Had a piece of paper with the Saturn that said $30 for everything or ask for prices on individual items. I took a look at the games came up to the guy that owned the system and shot him an offer of $15 he though about it for afew seconds...sold! Unplugged the Saturn which was set up with Panzer Dragon Playing on a TV they had setup outside on an extenion cord, put the Saturn in the box with the rest of the Saturn stuff and said take it away.
I was looking around after buying the Saturn and told him I was interested in the Game Gear, System Selector & a copy of Skies of Arcadia (complete) [which was with a Dreamcast & about 20 games, which also said that you could ask about only buying something instead of the whole lot] so I asked him how much he'd do for all three of them for. He said he knew SoA was still fairly recent & wanted $10 for it even though he was selling his DC, steering wheel & all of his DC games for $40 total. He said he knew it was the best game in the lot & it didn't seem as if I was gonna get him to go down much if at all so I didn't even bother trying to haggle any lower then $10. I ended up passing & just taking the GG & system selector at $5 each.
Another guy was selling some of his game stuff at this yardsale, he had the Devil May Cry marked $5 asked if he would take $3 and did.
I saw more Video game stuff at this yardsale then any other yardsale I hit up the whole summer. They also had a NES with about 5 games, PS2 system in box with afew games & about 20 Xbox games along with other misc electronics at this yardsale. The guy that owned the Saturn said he was going into the Army or Navy (can't remember which) and it seemed as if he was getting rid of all or most of his gaming stuff, also seemed to me as if he may have lost interest in video games and that may have been partly why he was getting rid of so much and didn't care to keep it around when he was gonna be away from home for so long. He also mentioned that they used to have an Atari with 1,000 games if true and he still had and was selling it would have been an insane find.
After this yardsale I was almost out of money & gas so I decided to stop at one other sale close by that said "games" in the ad & call it a day instead of running around hitting up as many sales as I could. Hopefully others will have some luck in finding something golden late in the yardsale season :)
Nice score on that Saturn lot! Wish I could get that lucky, I mostly hit up places I can get to on my bike cuz of gas the way it is now...
Wow - after some dry weeks of finding only three or four things - I guess today I made a pretty good score. Good enough to mention in any case.
I walked into my first sale - the lady had a few NES games - about five. I look through the stack and at the bottom is a sealed copy of "Anticipation"... Of course this is not the greatest game ever...but sealed? I took that one and Dr. Mario and asked her how much. She said three dollars each. I offered both for five dollars and she took. I'm not much of a lowballer >_>
so
Dr. Mario + Sleeve = $2.50
Sealed Anticipation = $2.50
Next there was this guy who had a bunch of games - tons and tons so he was experienced in selling them and was a pretty hard bargain maker. I saw that he had a boxed Super C and Dr. Mario. He wanted five dollars each. He said he'd take six if I gave him Dr.Mario - then he started getting kind of rude so I put everything I was considering buying down and left. Jackass.
Afterwards - there was this old guy - selling some NES games for 5 dollars each as well. Here I managed to strike a deal. Remember he wanted 5 dollars per game - I picked up what I had and offered 5 dollars and he took it.
Snake Rattle and Roll (Box + Manual Only) = $1
Super Team Games (Box Only) = $1
Where's Waldo (Complete) = $1
Wrath of the Black Manta (Game + Sleeve) =$1
Donkey Kong Classics (Game + Sleeve) = $1
I finally started stumbling on some SNES stuff - I saw a table with a bunch of games spanning many of the older systems for five dollars each. By now it was kind of late in the day, so I was looking through them thinking that I would be able to get the SNES games for a dollar each or some low figure like that. So I pick up Link to The Past, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest and The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse and go up to this lady sitting near the back. I say "So how much for these old games?" Reply - "Five dollars each".
Needless to say I said thank you - and left it there, thinking that when people have a response that premediated - haggling is not something that will arrive. She calls over her husband, who then comes over to me and says "So you want those games? Fifteen dollars for the three of them is pretty good - Zelda's a fun game!"
"Yeah," I said "but I thought I could get it for cheaper, I just bought a whole bunch of games for a total of five bucks."
He seemed like a very nice guy, and said "Well - you want five, I want 15 - lets see if we can meet somewhere in between. How about ten dollars?"
"Hmm - well, nahh..., thank you in any case"
"Seven?"
"It's alright -" When he said ten I had already put the games down and was leaving, if you're wondering.
"Alright fine - five it is! I gotta get rid of this anyway - have fun with them!"
I wasn't being a dick if you're wondering, using some sort of reverse "Fine I don't want it then" reverse psychology, but it worked out that way. I just didn't feel like bargaining for a price when I had just come from the arguement with that other dude that had the Contra and Dr Mario. I guess I'm like that - I hate it when people are rude with me and I guess it stays with me for a bit.
FF: Mystic Quest - $1.66
The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse - $1.66
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past - $1.66
All of which had their little plastic sleeves at the bottom.
I went to another table where this guy was selling games at 2 for 5 dollars. I asked if he'd do 3 for 5 - he said yes - this is what I got.
Justice League Task Force - $1.66
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse - $1.66
Battletoads (Gamegear) + Case - $1.66
It had started off as a good day - with the sealed NES game- so I didn't expect much good luck - but on the way back home there was a sale. Pretty much the usual fare - baby clothes, spaghetti strangers - and tucked away an N64 with all Hookups, a Controller, but no games. I went to it, and picked it up expecting the usual 15 dollar price that everyone seems to want for their N64. The girl said 10 dollars so already this was unusual. Hmm...One Cash in Face Method and Five Dollars later and I was picking up the last item of today's Haul.
N64 + Hookups + Controller - $5.00
So for today, if you skipped (For some reason I wrote skept before, must be the tiredness or something...)the narrative -
Dr. Mario + Sleeve = $2.50
Sealed Anticipation = $2.50
Snake Rattle and Roll (Box + Manual Only) = $1
Super Team Games (Box Only) = $1
Where's Waldo (Complete) = $1
Wrath of the Black Manta (Game + Sleeve) =$1
Donkey Kong Classics (Game + Sleeve) = $1
FF: Mystic Quest - $1.66
The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse - $1.66
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past - $1.66
Justice League Task Force - $1.66
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse - $1.66
Battletoads (Gamegear) + Case - $1.66
N64 + Hookups + Controller - $5.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Of- 25.00 for everything!
Oddly enough - everything is mint ;)
ETA- Pictures will come later if anyone cares :D
I think I almost scored some games today. I called one garage sale and the lady said there was someone else selling video games (it was a community sale) but they weren't there yet, so come back in an hour. I went in an hour later and the lady watching over the sale said the woman who had the video games sold it all already.
I stopped by another sale nearby where a woman was selling a box full of comic books. I don't know much about comic books and the woman was a collector, so I doubt anything good would be in there.
The day wasn't a total bust though. I did pick up this guy at the 2nd sale I went to for a quarter!
Struck out here as well.
Checked out about 10 different yard sales in the area...not much in the way of games or anything. Saw an old Sega Genesis with the CD attachment...guy wouldn't budge from 50 bucks for it.
Swap meet was horrible. Only thing I saw worth mentioning was a somewhat beaten up copy of Saga Frontier for 10 bucks.
One of the last sales I hit had this cute girl running it...and surprisingly, she hadn't had anyone come by all day. I felt bad, so I spent 50 cents and bought a wicker easter basket from her.
*edit* Also spotted a copy of Disgaea at Gamecrazy today. I would have grabbed it if I hadn't gotten in on the outpost deal earlier.
GAH! You're lucky! I've been looking for mario dolls - I got a pretty good score last summer when for five dollars I got six different Toad Plushes, Two Different Mario Ones, about 5 different Diddy Kong ones, 1 Donkey Kong one, 1 Flying Mario one, 1 Funky Kong one, one Yoshi, One Luigi and a Wario one. Bowser would be awesome to have though :drool:
have a tip where a booxed nomad is for 30 dollars, will be heading out in the am to see if i can get. 3 games charger and box, i am on it like a syrup on pancakes
Stopped at about 15 sales today and got some pretty good finds.
At the second sale my brother and I went to, the guy running it asked us if we skated. We replied that we didn't, but he still told us he had a "Skating Backpack" for sale and pointed towards it. I checked it out and it was actually a really nice Quicksilver backpack. He wanted $5.00 for it and he explained that it originally costed him $75.00 I checked another table he had setup and found a Sims Online PC Game still sealed marked at $2.00 and a NIB "Mad Catz Dual Force" PS1/2 Controller marked at $2.00 I decided to pass on the Sims Online game because I picked one up at the Green Tag TRU sale at 90% last year and still haven't opened it. So I took the Backpack and the controller and asked if he would do $6.00 for both and he accepted.
Later in the morning we went to an area that advertised "Block Garage Sale." Turns out only 3 Families were in on it. Anyway at the first house we checked, I asked how much they wanted for a Microsoft Cordless Optical Mouse. She wanted $2.00, so I put it down to think if I really needed another mouse, and she quickly said she would sell it for $1.00, so I took it without hesitation.
Next sale didn't have too much of anything. I randomly picked up one of those Frogger Plug and Play TV arcade games, and the lady running the sale looked over at me and said $2.00... I asked if she would do $1.00 and she agreed. No idea if I'll ever play the thing, but for a buck I could care less.
After that we checked out a moving sale some family was having, and it proved to be quite worth it. As we got there I heard the mother and her grandfather talking. The only word I made out from the conversation were "XBOX," so I looked up and noticed her putting an XBOX Racing Wheel onto one of the sales tables. I checked it out and found it to be a "Mad Catz MC2 Microcon," so I asked how much, to which she thought about it and said $2.00 I was set on taking it for sure, but I looked around some more and uncovered a box with a couple N64 Games (NBA Show Time, and Scooby Doo) and some XBOX Game Instructions. I grabbed them and the racing wheel and asked how much for the lot, she responded $3.00 I didn't notice, but my brother grabbed some random Board Game and some misc tools, and she included those in the $3.00 total. We were pretty happy walking away from that sale.
Recap and Pictures:
$6.00 - Quicksilver Backpack and Sealed Mad Catz Dual Force Controller
$2.00 - Mad Catz MC2 Microcon Racing Wheel (XBOX)
$1.00 - 3 XBOX Game Manuals, Scooby Doo N64, and NBA Showtime N64
$1.00 - Frogger TV Arcade Game by Konami
$1.00 - Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse
Not a bad day...
I would'nt think you were a dick if you did that, in fact I would think you were a skilled cheapass bargain hunter. I have very few limitations as far as trying to get a deal but maybe that's just me.
BTW - I did not do any yardsaling this weekend. I actually took off yesterday morning to Stowe, Vermont for a little siesta, before I went I stopped at the local flea and picked up a nice 60th anniversary disney collectors plate - $5 and a mint YES CD -(fragile) - $1
One of my favorite vacation spots! I used to go once a year for the August car show, and of course a visit to the Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury. Did you do anything special up there?
Checked out a few more yard sales today, and no luck on anything.
The video rental stores on the other hand...not blockbuster and the likes...the "small ma' and pa' shops":
The good: Picked up Wild Arms 2 + Breath of Fire 3 (mint except for some damn stickers) for 3 bucks a piece.
The bad: Came across a podunk white trash shop in the middle of nowhere...lo' and behold, they had these 5 games:
Tactics Ogre
Persona 1 + 2
Valkyrie Profile (!!!!)
Rez (!!!!)
The downright horribly ugly: They wouldn't sell them to me. I'm going to call them in a few days and talk to the owner, and see if maybe I can strike some kind of deal. Just looking at the games, they appear to be completely mint (cases shrinkwrapped, games look to never have been rented once).
Question though: Any thoughts on how to get the leftover sticky crap off of the discs after I peel the stickers off? There isn't a lot of it, but it IS annoying.
A Q-Tip dipped in Goo Gone should do you just fine. Your local hardware store will have it if your supermarket doesn't.
