Official Afrika Thread - Out Now in North America
I haven't even opened my copy Cheapest so I can't tell you for sure, have you figured it out?
There's gotta be a FAQ online.
The tutorial in the game says to press square to get into the camera mode where you can zoom in and out and pan and to press either R1 or O to shoot a picture. I've tried both without any luck.

But I'll give it another whirl tomorrow and I'll definitely be keeping the game since it's pretty unique.

Oh and before I forget, the game installs 2 gigs on your PS3 and the save files are somewhere around 300mb's. Quite a large save file or so I thought.
Kind of off-topic but I picked up Jambo Safari by Sega for the Wii for $10 from Big Lots .
It's pretty good and I can drive while my daughter lassos the animals .

I still kinda want this game though .
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Jambo Safari came out for the Wii? When did this happen?

I found a date of Nov 17 2009, that sounds about right .

I almost started a thread for it .
I drive with the nunchuck and my daughter either tells me where to go or ropes the animals with the remote .
We have a lot of fun, more than $10 worth that's for sure .
prob large due to the amount of pictures you'l take and save.
But the thing is, I have only taken ONE picture in the game thus far. Unfortunately, it's not allowing me to snap other photos as of yet, unless you have to specifically just snap photos of the 'target' animals from the e-mails you're sent in the game.

I'm going to try that either tonight or tomorrow night and see if it only lets me snap pictures of the animals I'm supposed to be getting close-ups of and what not. If not, then maybe I have a bad copy of the game.

Ok, thumbs up or thumbs down? The game looks kind of boring to me :( But I'm still a little interested.

I just got my copy from GameStop.com. I havnt played it yet, but im extremley pleased with the copy. The manual is in color and both the manual and cover art are in great condition. The disk iteslf is absolutley pristine. This game looks like it came from a collector, I paid $26 for what seems to be a brand new copy.

I put it in to make sure my copy I bought worked fine, and noticed that I had to press a combination of O and R1 (one at a time, one and then the other or both together) to make him take a picture, which I found weird, maybe you were running into the same issue I found. I took like 25 snaps, I had a giraffe, some zebra, the deer-thing, the birds, and then while we were driving back the other antelope-like animal, so I had no problems snapping away at what I wanted.

Thought it was pretty funny that the giraffe just stood their dumbfounded while I'm snapping away, hehe, got some pretty good pictures of him too. Fun game if you just want to relax and take pictures and enjoy the scenery.

Aha. That might well have been the issue with my copy then, since I swear it said to only press O to snap a picture. Yet I think my one buddies niece was simply snapping pics with O when I took the game up for them to try on their PS3(fat model).

Maybe it functions differently on a slim?
