The long-awaited thread for members of the CAG MGO clan and those looking to play with other CAGs is now here.

To apply for the clan:
1. Click on Clan in the main menu
2. Click on Clan Search
3. Type in "CAG"
4. Apply to join the CAG clan. Don't forget to mention who you are on CAG.

As long as the clan's not full, I'll get to accepting you ASAP. Right now we're at 39/64 members, so there's still plenty of room to join.

Feel free to also discuss playing MGO with other CAGs, like if you are going to host a game for other CAGs to join. Feel free to post details on where the game's hosted so that others can find the game easily.

Will there be a set time for CAGs to play? I usually end up missing the unscheduled CAG games since I play during weird hours.
 
I'm always hosting games if me and my friend are playing. Though you would have to add me to your friendlist since we started a super uber umm duck clan of just me and him. Usually around 6-7 PM Pacific time, if I do.
 
Good, glad to see this thread. I linked your game within CAG PSN Gaming. Whatever days you want, I'll put them on the schedule (I'll even make room for MGO on days where other games go on, except maybe on Friday nights).

Yeah, we need an official night. I'm on pretty much everyday and I rarely see anybody else on except Bavgate and espy since people were playing other games, which is fine, thus an offical game night for MGO is very sorely needed.

Seriously, the only people I ever see active are just us three. I'd enjoy an all CAG room, most definitely. Means all my teammates will at least know what they're doing. :lol:
 
I've joined a few games with you guys, but I don't see you often or I'm already into another game. If you set up a night, I'll be there.

There have been some circumstances preventing me from playing much lately so I'm a bit rusty. I got through Uncharted tonight though, so hopefully I'll be hopping on a bit more often again.

I was going to join the room you were in about 30 minutes ago, but it was full and I just decided to log off. Enough MGO for tonight. :D
 
Do you still have to level up to join a clan? Is it like the beta where you have to be a certain level to unlock the clan function?
 
I just applied, my MGO name should be Mid_Boss. I'll probably be on late tonight, like at 1am central if anyone is gonna be up for some games then. I don't have a headset or a keyboard to use right now though.

The problem is a lot of CAGs have MGO names different from their CAG ones so they can be hard to spot.

I only see bruce (usually automatching), Thongsy and Bav. Oldboy is always playing some baseball game.

I was only referrring to the Clan roster, as it is usually eerilly empty every morning/afternoon EST when I get my MGO time in.

Yep, I saw you last night, espy. Unfortunately, after the 2.40 update, I kept getting booted off the PSN last night.

Starting 7/17 in Japan, there will be a new expansion pack available for download for Metal Gear Online.

The pack will be 1200 yen (or a 1500 yen pack which will give you one new character slot), and it will include:

- Johnny and Meryl will be added.
- Now able to make Female Characters.
- 3 new stages including Shadow Moses, Mei Ling's Ship, and MGS1 Heliport.
- Official Survival Mode added.

Also starting 7/4, two new rules will be added:

-Team Scanning (Teams will split into Sneaking and Defending, Sneaking team will be able to use Stealth ability)
-Head-shot Only Kills (Optional Rule)

Head shot only? I'm out of that game. I do want to try team scanning though. I like how you have to pay to make female characters, blah. Not that we can have more than one character without paying $7 or whatever absurd price it was. I do want to play on Shadow Moses and the MGS1 Heliport though.

I gotta admit...it's funny as hell going for CQC moves and knife stun/kills.

Johnny and Meryl added? As servers? Or voices? Or playable during a sneaking mission? That's so vague. Why should I pay $12 for being able to access servers?

They're probably playable characters with special abilities. I believe Johnny and Meryl servers already exist.

Are you serious? Those are smoke grenades. They do exactly what you describe for that purpose. They're a pain the ass when friendly fire is on though.

I see. Nobody ever uses them and the couple times someone has, I've never been caught in one. Alrighty

edit: also, I usually leave the game on even wen I leave my ps3/tv. Since I'm in a middle of a game, so sometimes it'll seem like I'm playing when I'm not, often.

Yea, I got that too when I was being a knife player, even though my stats as a one were horrible. People complain about everything in this game, expecting everybody to play the same way using only an AR. Smoke grenades are fun,especially color ones, a nice change from just using regular or WP.

Looking forward to the add on. Will probably buy it the day it comes out. I wonder if it will be through the PSN or through Konami.
 
Whats the deal with MGO. I tried to play some games tonight but whenever I shot people, it would take like 3-5 seconds to do any damage. I would unload a clip into someone's back, duck behind the corner to reload, and he would die while I was hiding. Similarly if I was shot at I would get out of the way, but my health would go down after and I would die. I also died immediately after spawning. I have a feeling that is not how the game is meant to be played. Anyone esle have this problem? Was I just getting lag? Also, my headset doesn't work in MGO :(

MGO name is Jest311, same as my PSN account
 
Lag. This game has major lag issues. That happens a lot, like over half the time. Just be glad it wasn't the double kill spawn lag. Lag and random HS is really annoying me in MGO so I basically try to stick only to bases and capture for now.

Edit: You actually might've been experience the lag spawn death issue. Or some jackass was spawn camping.

Actually, that is true, people rarely use them but if you play games with Thongsy, he uses them a LOT. In games that prohibit direct-damage grenades, these are also popular.

In the evening too. I've been playing the last several days and check the clan roster each time. Blank!
 
Stay flexible and hopefully it'll work out. It seems there is another group of CAG members who play MGO, maybe we should combine forces?
 
Got a few sneaking mode questions: Are headshots one-hit kills on Snake? Also, do his footprints show up when you're using the NVG?

For people who like doing one team VS Snake, what strategies do you have for hunting down Snake at the beginning of the round? I try throwing a couple locators and listening for footprints, but it seems like there are very few options until he starts shooting.

Yep yep. Also, if the Snake player is stupid enough not to use Facecamo, you can see their head. You can see the Snake player, clear as day, when his camo changes, too.

Can't answer this since I've never played a one team vs Snake game before, but on Sneaking games, I usually just immediately run to one of Snake's closest spawn points and look around for a bit. Most of the time, they shoot me with a tranquilizer, I spot him, and my teammates come running. Then again, this doesn't really help if you haven't played as Snake a lot, so you won't know which spots he spawns at.
 
So, I was checking out our clan records online at the MGO2 website and I noticed a "Clan Champions" section. Apparently, I'm the Suicide and Falling Death champ, along with a few more titles (Good records, mind you ;)).

Either, I'm really clumsy with nades or killing yourself after the match ends counts in the score. :cry:

Just go to the Community Support page on MGO or go here: http://mgo2web.konami.com/us/community/?m=pc&a=page_o_top&resolution=hd

Log in with your Game ID and password, click on "CAG" on the left side under "Player Info", then click on "Clan Member Records" on the top (It should be directly under 'Favorites'). Clan Champions is located at the bottom of page after you click on the records.
