Official CAG MGO Games/Clan Discussion - CAG MGO Night Tuesday 8/5 10 PM EST/7 PM PST

It says qwikcipher is the "self CQC" champ with 1146 times. How do you use CQC on yourself, let alone do it over a thousand times?
It says qwikcipher is the "self CQC" champ with 1146 times. How do you use CQC on yourself, let alone do it over a thousand times?
I was going to ask that myself. What in the fuck is a "Self CQC"?!

Oh OK... I checked qwikcipher's personal stats and I guess Self CQC is just a confusing way of saying how many CQC attacks you've received. And here I was imagining some guy just standing there punching and occasionally throwing himself on the floor.
So, I was checking out our clan records online at the MGO2 website and I noticed a "Clan Champions" section. Apparently, I'm the Suicide and Falling Death champ, along with a few more titles (Good records, mind you ;)).

Either, I'm really clumsy with nades or killing yourself after the match ends counts in the score.

Just go to the Community Support page on MGO or go here: http://mgo2web.konami.com/us/community/?m=pc&a=page_o_top&resolution=hd

Log in with your Game ID and password, click on "CAG" on the left side under "Player Info", then click on "Clan Member Records" on the top (It should be directly under 'Favorites'). Clan Champions is located at the bottom of page after you click on the records.
Woohoo consecutive deaths champ! It's because I joined a game practicing CQC and people kept killing me ha.

On the upside I am the cardboard box and knife champ!

Anyone wanna get on and play?

Looks like there's an announcement in that the rat title is being reset somehow.

I'm down, espy. I'll be online in a few.

I could play a little. Keep in mind I don't have a headset or keyboard though, so don't expect much communication on my end.
bav password is "cag" (I just guessed)

edit: my team makes me sad
Yeah, I figured it out. I was about to in-game message you.

STUPID MAINTENANCE. :bomb:

And a friendly reminder once again...

PLEASE don't kill the enemies once the SOP Destab activates!

I think I said it at least three times but that didn't stop anyone. I don't even know why we have base capture in the rotation if everyone plays it like TDM.

Meh, they'll learn eventually. Just hope the other CAG guys read this and learn to play it the correct way. :whistle2:#

Oh, and another thing, try not to KS people when they're going for a knife kill or just CQC stunned someone/have them in a CQC hold. Noticed that in one game when espy stunned me in A.A. I managed to still kill him, but I was shot in the head at the same time I died.

Good games, although I had to leave unexpectedly. I think base mode is my second favorite mode after sneaking. I always liked that map, too.

During one of the destabs, I watched helplessly as espy stun knifed Bavgate. I was scared that he'd come after me next because I was just around the corner, but luckily he went the other way. That was some true MG-quality tension right there. :)

Damn, sounds like it was fun. Yea, few people actually stun with the SOP Destab, they just go for the kill. Kinda annoying that they do that. Was fun playing with you eariler espy, espically with that damn SOP destab fakeout you had on us. Hope they do reset rat rank, since I got that like my first hour or two of the game and I didn't really fall for many traps, and it now it won't go away at all. I want the Kerotan rank for playing capture. Dinosaur clan ftw.

Team Sneaking mode is up now. It plays like a bit like Rescue, where one team must rescue the kerotan, they're the sneaking team. Armed only with non-lethal weapons except the stun knife. They get the stealth camo, but it was weird for me like sometimes it would just shut off, so I don't know what's up with that. Than the other team is just the defending team and gets all the basic weapons, without camo and must obviously defend the Kerotan from being capture.

For sure. Good times finally making it into a game with CAGs and using teamwork/communication. Makes it so much more enjoyable. I will be back on in a couple hours if anyone wants to play.

Also, what is up with the ranking system? I see people with fifty plus hours and they are only a level 5. I am assuming it just goes with the win/loss ratio? It seems as long as I stay above 50%, I stay at a level five.

Bav was on my way to a base, and I wasn't sure what lasted longer, the Destab or the knife stun so I just stunned him.

This doesn't bother me except when a teammate walks into my knife because they're trying to kill someone (at CQC range with a gun?) I'm fighting.

Thongsy I've seen YOU kill people during Destabs haha, and you even place them yourself. I knew you and dauth would defend your area if you knew I had a Destab so I went after the bases instead, haha.

Dinosaur clan: extinct!!!

Nope, I am below 50% but I am rank 6 (last time I checked, I drop to 3 sometimes).

So you dont know how it works? Maybe just by total points? I think I have around 8000.

I figured it out. If one person gets spotted on your team, EVERYONE's stealth camo gets disabled until the caution timer runs out.

Yea, I kill people sometimes after a destab, that's only cause everybody already started killing them. So I'm like fuck it, it'll too late might as well at least try to get some kill points out of it.

Yea, the ranking level system doesn't make sense. I keep switching from 4 and 5. Dauth is only 5 though he has like 600-800 more kills than deaths and I got 200 more deaths than kills. Another person I saw had like 2:1 kill/death ratio and was only rank 7. I'm surprised espy isn't higher though, with all those stuns.

If I'm not mistaken, Stuns in the old MGO also gave the same amount of points as a kill and even took down a ticket in TDMs. So it was better to stun people, while here it's all about the kill.

Level ranking is determined by the level of the players that you kill. If you kill higher level players, your level will increase. If you get owned by lower level players, your level is going down.

That's why I keep switching between level 5 and 6.

That was funny as hell when espy just knife stunned me after that Destab went off on U.U. I was laughing pretty hard and all I could say to myself was, "Bastard."

Anyway, I'm going to get some lunch with my friends and once I'm back, let's get some games going. :D
Team sneaking sucks! Espy's too good at it. xD
It was just coincidence I kept running into you.
Good games tonight guys. Me, Espy, Bav and Metaly were playing Snake hunt for quite awhile and it was awfully fun.
Pretty damn fun when it's just like 4-5 people. :D

More games later tonight! Me and espy are probably playing for the rest of the day, haha.
"At least I killed Bav"

I'm not good enough at TDM or DM, so I have to set different goals for myself

I mainly go to a room that hosts cqc/scanner/runner only, no weapons. Just having fun cqc'ing other ppl, as well as building my CQC level to lvl 3. That's the reason why I have a high number of CQC attacks in the game.

I'll probably check you guys later. I'd love to play more with you, but you fellows seem to enjoy everything except TDM, which is about the only thing I really play. It's cool, though. You're fun to play with, so I'll bite the bullet.

Actually I think everyone likes TDM except me, other people that host usually include it in the rotation.

I usually don't include TDM since it almost always ends up being unbalance teams skillwise, or one team starts spawn camping. My rotation is Caps n Bases, and maybe a little Sneaking, since that's really just TDM with somebody getting to be Snake.

We just played a bunch of TSNK with dauth, pretty fun!

Team Sneak = Pretty fun after I gave it some more games.
Base = The best.
Capture = Almost always intense rounds.
Sneaking = I'm always Snake, but it gets boring after awhile.
Rescue = No point to this now since Team Sneak is out, right?
TDM = Should be all knives, all the time.
DM = Same as above.

Fun time playing that all knife TDM with you, qwikcipher. Love when everyone is in a giant cluster-fuck, then you run up and stun them all for the win!
Likewise Bav, that was an awesome knife TDM. Too bad the host left early
Oh my god, that reminds me of the Team Sneak room I joined with a few other CAG guys and the damn host kept leaving after they got killed! So, everytime we had to start over after going halfway through it. Geez, that pissed me off. :bomb:

Hope that never happens again.

Anyway, let me know if anyone's going to get some games started tomorrow. I'll jump on MGO in a snap.

Oh, and one more thing: Auto-aim + Pistols = I seriously love it.

Me too. Combine that with a CQC throw and you got a real killer right there.

I don't know exactly what time, but I am sure I will be on this afternoon and definately at like 7-8PM CST.

Auto-aim is hard as hell to use if you think about it.

You have a guy aiming for your head in OTS mode, that only needs one shot to take you down. With the pistol, you're shooting at their body and it almost takes up an entire clip to finally kill them. Who has the advantage there?

I like auto-aim because it can also locate enemy positions. Let's say I'm on G.G., walking down the alley part of the map. I hold L1, and I lock onto someone ABOVE me on the roof. I didn't notice him at all, so now I know his spot and can take him out.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's not cheap. I don't use it with any other weapons except the pistols and sometimes the knife. Even though I love auto-aim, I don't use it 100% of the time. I still use the OTS mode and Primary weapons. In fact, I think I only use the auto-aim/pistol combo less than 30% of the time I play.

And yes, CQC throwdown + auto-aim pistol works wonders. It has saved my ass on occasions when I was thrown down by an enemy player and I was about to get knifed. Turning the crosshair is too slow to aim for them, so using auto-aim is the next best thing.

Before you mock it, you should try it out yourself. I used to think it sucked too, but a day or two of practice made me start to like it a lot.

Auto-aim isn't cheap. Random HS is cheap, and that is what comprises 90% of this game, the random HS. Requires almost no skills, just aim for the head and spray away, eventually one of those 20 bullets will get them and one of theirs will get you.

QFT. I can't tell you how many times I will get a hs on an enemy and then half a second later he gets a hs on me and we are both dead. So lame.

I don't find any tactic to be really cheap. I mean, people complain about people who hide, CQC, and knife kill. Well, be more careful, then. People complain about snipers. Well, don't go out in open areas, then. It's that simple. There is a counter to every tactic.

As far as auto-aim goes, it does give you an advantage, but at a disadvantage, so whatever. If someone wants to auto-aim, that's fine. I don't find many people do, anyway.

As far as random headshots go, when it comes down to it, a good player isn't going to let a bad player get off 10 or 20 shots. They will already be dead.
QFT. I can't tell you how many times I will get a hs on an enemy and then half a second later he gets a hs on me and we are both dead. So lame.
How so? They got their shot off, and it hit you. It stinks, but they earned the kill as much as you did.

I was certainly not implying it was cheap, like above said it has advantages and disadvantages. I just think that, in general and for ALL games, auto aim is a lame concept. Takes some of the "playing" out of the game.

Why did they bother making the games up to 16 players, when the system obviously can't handle it? The frame rate drops dramatically, especially when something explodes.

I had the funniest moment. We were playing TSNK and the guy guarding the endzone threw me down so I lost the duck. He didn't have a knife equipped, so I rolled over the duck, picked it up and rolled into the endzone, we win!
