Official CAG MGO Games/Clan Discussion - CAG MGO Night Tuesday 8/5 10 PM EST/7 PM PST
I had the funniest moment. We were playing TSNK and the guy guarding the endzone threw me down so I lost the duck. He didn't have a knife equipped, so I rolled over the duck, picked it up and rolled into the endzone, we win!
What the fuck? Damn, I missed that.

Is there a rule where one guy always has to constantly CQC one other guy on his own team? Also does that other guy always have to be me? :bomb:

Fun games, though. TDM isn't what I go looking for when I play MGO, but the ones tonight were pretty good. I love when people actually stick together.

Got both runner and assault rifle level 2 during that last match. I'll probably replace CQC+ for runner 2 since I never use it. What's everyone else using?
How so? They got their shot off, and it hit you. It stinks, but they earned the kill as much as you did.
It happens way too often and there's a noticeable delay after the first guy dies. It's like the game thinks "i kind of feel bad for that guy who died, let's give him a headshot." I've played many other FPS's and simultaneous deaths are extremely high in this one alone.

That's because headshots are pretty easy to get in this game, because of the OTS angle. Have you noticed the extremely high percentage of headshots people have? That's why you have so many simultaneous deaths.

My current set-up is:

Monomania 3
Narc 2 (I need to get 3 somehow. 3 is amazing. Enemies light up when they point their gun at you so you can see where they're going to shoot you from.)
Runner 1
Sixth Sense 1 (Again, need level 3.)

Mostly a skill set-up to promote teamwork through SOP. I'll switch skills around according to the game mode I'm playing, though.

And fuck those a-holes that were trying to kick you in our games last night. It was pissing me off. I don't even know what the hell you did. Apparently, getting mad at your own teammate that is CQC'ing yourself gives them the option to kick you? #-o

So ho wexactly does Narc work? Does monomania have an L3 bonus?

Like that guy that tried to kick me because I was using NVG and he said I was glitching him?

Wow, narc sounds like something I should be using. I'll have to start leveling it up. I think I was turned off from it because the description says it works only when enemies lock-on, but maybe more people use auto-aim than I think?

And yeah, who knows what was with those kicks last night. I thought maybe they were friends with the CQC guy, but by the time the second vote came up he had already left. Maybe they just smelled blood on the Internet.

I find having CQC is actually a pain in the ass because sometimes you'll accidentally grab when you meant to throw and vice versa.

I usually have Runner L2, Quarterback L3 ( can grenade across half a map with L3), and Knife L1.

Monomania 3 lasts about 6-8 seconds for highlighting the enemy, I think. Maybe longer.

Narc 1-2 suck, 3 is where it's at. Let's say we're on U.U. and a sniper is aiming at me from one of the rooftops. Thanks to Narc 3, I'll know where that guy is aiming from before he even takes a shot. As long as his crosshair crosses over my character's body, his body will light up.

And LOL @ that guy saying you were glitching. That was damn funny. That reminds me for TSNK, go straight for the NVG's at all costs. Whichever team has it is going to be at a huge advantage.

If anyone wants to level up Narc with me, I'm in a room right now. All we have to do is lock onto each other and leave it like that until the round ends. Then, we go again. I'm going to be AFK for like 20 minutes though, so give me a bit of time.

And metaly, support skills (the blue skills) only take up one slot, no matter what level.
What the fuck? Damn, I missed that.
You were in the game though where I made it into the endzone with the kerotan, but was killed the moment I rolled in it and it didn't count? :(

Yeah but by the time I find them sometimes, usually 75% of the opposing team is already dead.

Yeah, I was there. :/

We should find out the NVG's spawn-points sometime later today for each stage or whenever.

That's really cool, I didn't know that.

So Narc only levels up while someone's locked onto you, but it still activates if they free aim over you?

I'll probably get online in a bit. I also got the guide so I'll check if it shows item spawns.

To level Narc 1, you just have to be shot. No auto-aim needed.
Narc 2, someone just needs to lock onto you with auto-aim. I think taking damage might work too. I'm not completely sure yet.
Narc 3 is the one where it activates if someone free aims over you.

My skill set is usually,

AR 2
Runner 1
Hawkeye 3

Sometimes I switch it just to try new things out or depending on the match. I may take out hawkeye since it's really only good with one guy, the XM8, and use monomania or quarterback. Hmm Narc sounds nice, maybe have to use that.

Thankfully Metaly didn't get kicked, since most of the time people will vote yes no matter what. I hate the kick system because people never give a reason. I rather be asked to leave and told why than kicked as that doesn't tell me anything.

Apparently, Narc, Monomania, and Sixth Sense level up automatically as long as you're using SOP. Just link up with your teammates everytime you spawn and it should level up.

I think it's true, because my Narc skill bar has been inching a little further after every game that wasn't one of those Narc leveling rooms. Still looks like it's going to take awhile for me to get to level 3, but it's going to be so worth it.

Sounds like a plan. It's too bad it can't be inflated as fast as Sixth Sense, because that level 3 sounds almost like cheating. :D

My Sixth Sense leveled up to level 2 after like two rounds. SOOOO easy when you plant eight mags and there's a bunch of other people planting them too. xD

At higher levels, can Sixth Sense see things that are further away? At Level 1 I see traps right before I touch them, blah.

Also how do you know L3 Narc does that? Who has it that told you it does?

That idea about Narc going up automatically makes sense since mine increases slowly in games I know no one uses AutoAim in.

Range is supposed to increase with each additional level for Sixth Sense.

Couple of friends that have Narc 3 have told me. It's kind of hard to believe, I'll admit, but I'll go through the strain of getting it, even if it is bullshit.

Hmm, how does it affect people like Snake or TSNK players? Seems unfair even with Narc 3 if it decloaks them.

I believe they'll light up too. Can't confirm, though.

Fun games just now. Still not a huge fan of team sneak, but it has potential. I especially liked how one of the sneakers grabbed one of my team's M4s and killed me with it.

I also wasn't expecting to like large sneaking mode games, but somehow it works. With both teams just shooting at each other and Snake doing his thing in the background, it fits in well with "no place to hide" as well. :) It may actually be easier for Snake to win against two large teams opposed to a single small one.

And the theory that Narc just levels up based on games or even just time, rather than behavior, makes sense. I notice after every couple rounds it seems to have creeped up the same amount. Of course at this rate it's going to take forever to get to level 3.

I love team sneak, and even I will try to get guns from enemies I knock out. It's easier to do if the guy you stun is alone, of course. Team Sneak works best in 3-5 minute rounds. Any longer and it becomes boring having to wait for the last guy to move around the map. I dislike how necessary the NVG are, and kind of wish they would be removed from maps on TSNK. They're too powerful.

I still like the sneaking mode but it seems SOME people get picked as Snake at too frequent a rate, and as much fun as I have killing Snake it's a lot more fun to be him. I think he also needs to have a little more health than regular players.

man ive been out for while. I haven't had much time to get into any mgo action. My job just picked up like crazy the past few weeks. I'm usually at work at like 5-6 am to maybe 2 pm. But recently its been 4:30 am sharp to 1:30 pm. Ugg, so I'm usually a bit too tired to play when you guys do. I'd usually play some games, something quick and easy (recently sshd) from around midnight to like around now since thats when I wake up. I'll try and get in tuesday, I haven't been able to try the new mode yet either.

Sorry.

Is there going to be a game tonight so we can try out the new Team Sneak? It seems like...well...I don't know what. By not playing it I'd say it seems somewhat thought out except from my understanding once your seen by one guy, everyone sees you. Meaning just keep 1 or 2 people back at your base and go from there.

Yes but the game plays better with a strict time limit forcing the stealth team to move forward. The problem with long time limits is you have people hiding forever in a place.
Just played a few rounds with Thongsy. Good times, but could you hear my Voicechat? I could barely hear you...
All I kept hearing was static. With a couple times you saying "what?" All the times I use a headset I could barely ever hear anybody, their voice thing would light up but nothing would be spoken. I even got a new headset, kinda annoying that this is suppose to be a team game, but you don't get assist points, only for killing and nobody ever communicates via the headset that do have them and than the other 80% of people don't have them.

Yea, Rescue and Team Sneaking need a strict short time limit, 3-5 minutes max, otherwise you get dumbass games who don't do anything cause they don't want to die and than everybody who has died leaves and basically kills the room cause of that.

For anyone having trouble hearing chat, do you have your headset output turned up in-game? I had a hard time hearing people and then I noticed MGO has its own option (go figure) for headset volume. Mine was at 5/10, so I turned it up to max. Of course I haven't even seen anyone talk since then. :) Maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll get to see if it helped.

I have it set to max. Sometimes though I'm mumbling to myself and not talking. But when I do talk I'm not really sure if anybody hears me or not, and I don't hear anybody either. I guess the real test of the voice will come when we do the CAG game night and hopefully most people will have a headset, since it's getting really annoying to not be able to hear anybody and also being the only person with a headset in the game.

MGO is really fun and I love playing, but it feels like once socom comes out this game is just going to pretty much die.

I'm gonna play some Gaylo instead, nubs!!##

p.s. About halfway to Narc 2, and Monomania will probably hit 2 in my next game. Wooo, support skills. And ha @ espy CQCing me to start off every game. I think in one of them he actually ran back to do it.
I'm gonna play some Gaylo instead, nubs!!##
HAHAHAHAH! That was so funny. No way you're getting kicked from a room as long as we're around. Dumbass teabaggers. Teabaggers and the end-of-round CQC'ers piss me off so much. :bomb:

Nice, nice. So, the SOP thing is actually working. I'm closing in on Narc 3. About two slivers of the bar left. Already maxed Sixth Sense and QB today. Sixth Sense is actually a REALLY good skill. I was able to spot the mags laid down by Snake from quite a bit ahead of me. Were you guys able to see them on your screen when we were linked? The range is supposed to be huge.

I guess that's the new thing to do, CQC metaly!

I can't help it, I'm just a kick magnet.

I ran into quite a few mags in one of the Groznyj Grad games, but I was pretty far away from everyone at the time.

I'm thinking I'll stick with AR+/Runner/Mono/Narc as my primary skillset. I tried Runner 2 instead of AR+, but wow, there was so much recoil I couldn't hit anyone. Almost makes me want to use AR+ 2 to see how accurate it gets, but I assume pretty much everyone uses Runner so I need that to keep up.
That was the best...that idiot t-bagged you, you said something, and he actually tried to get you kicked.
In all fairness, I didn't realize he was the host when I said that. Gave him a 1/5 later, anyway. :)

You and espy are kick magnets. People are idiots.

I noticed a huge difference from AR+ lvl 1 and 2. Level 2 is almost perfect.

Was my Monomania 3 helping you guys at all? Like, when I shot someone, were you guys able to take them out for me after, if I died?

I'm starting to use Stun Grenades in conjuction with Monomania, as a pseudo E. Locator. Blind people, take their stamina, and locate them at the same time. Pretty nifty.
You and espy are kick magnets. People are idiots.
Children, unfortunately. I imagine espy gets booted a lot, because as we know, his style of play really gets under the skin of morons. The only times I ever ask for a kick is when someone is being a complete dick about things.

I do, but I got booted last night for using NVG in a TSNK game.

Did you notice I sniped that guy when he was t-bagging you for like five minutes? Haha. He wasn't too happy about that.

I think your monomania dies with you? I don't know. But when you're alive, it definitely helps as I can see where people are when you're fighting them. I think once you have Narc L3 you won't need Monomania.

Except for the fact you always blind me with them. It's still better than being grenaded by your own team though.

Yeah, I'm taking Monomania off once I get Narc 3. I really like how Monomania 3 shows where the last guy I killed, spawns at for like two seconds. I can't get there fast enough, but it's a nice addition.
Except for the fact you always blind me with them. It's still better than being grenaded by your own team though.
Bleh, figured that would be the case. I blind myself with them too. I just immediately hide in my C. Box after I toss one to not be blinded.
