Official CAG MGO Games/Clan Discussion - CAG MGO Night Tuesday 8/5 10 PM EST/7 PM PST

Yeah, I think we're definitely not going to use the clan room for CAG MGO Nights. They seem to just be empty rooms to use for chatter between clan members. There are no game customization options at all besides the map you're on, from what I can see, so it's useless for actually playing the game online.

I think we'll just stick to the same old place for the game:

Special Instructions: Once you log in, click on lobby select, click Free Battle, C. Wolf, and search for "CAG MGO". Or add Solid Tanuki, or whoever's hosting the game, to your friends list and jump to that game from there.

GGs guys, sorry about that box charge on the red team, I thought it would work. I guess I'll put the box move off my skill list. The red team really owned me hard ;)

Qwik and I had a hilarious battle at the alley base on MM. I was literally laughing out loud :)

Maybe next time we have a low turnout we could just crash somebody else's game.

Have you found a clan battle option Frisky?

Aw, it's over? And just as I reconnected! Oh well. It was good playing with you guys. Man, that box charge really had me going. I need to get that skill.

Yeah, they included the "box move" and "quick recovery" in the update. The box charge will only work if you have mastered the skill to lvl 3.

Anyone actually using shotguns? I heard they got a HUGE buff. Also, how many people made it to the game tonight?

No, though I'm not sure where to look though. It's showing stats now, but how we get some stats up there is unknown to me.

So you have to do stuff to just unlock the Box and Recovery skills? Interesting.

Also, look at the user name on the clan notice in the first picture here. :lol:

I think I hit you with the box charge. After that I couldn't even find you in the alley. I was like "oh shit, where is he, i'm going to die!", so I pulled out the ak and I see no ammo in the clip. There was no time to reload and then I saw you. So, I whipped out the grenade and you were trying to reload too, but you didn't have any time also. I equipped the knife and made an attempt to stun you, but failed. Then, you came at me with a CQC grab and missed. But, the second attempt connected and I was thrown into the ground while you pumped that rifle into my head. :cry:

Yeah, haha. We were playing BASE and the opposing team was trying to capture one of the bases. I equipped the box and rammed myself into the them like a bowling ball, but it left me vulnerable out in the open for them to get good shots. The skill would work well in team sneak and knife rooms, but not base,cap, or res.

Rolento was using the shotgun. he was pretty good at it. Got me a few times in the sneak game, caught me by suprise.

I think it was 6 or 7 ppl?, I thought it would be a large turnout because there's so many ppl in the cag clan.

You blindsided me during that Base Mission. :lol: We made a pretty good team during that first Sneaking Mission. I was just messing around for a while because I was waiting for more people to show up. There's 63 people in the CAG clan and 6 people show up for MGO night? Come on.

Hrmm, I thought it would be a big turnout too, but I think most of us are getting tired of playing the game. Checking out the weekly totals, there's a bunch of people in the clan that haven't been on lately. Sucks. I should be around next week for the game, though.

Hey, Rolento, how's that shotgun working out for you? I keep hearing that people are blocking the shotguns from their games now because it's insanely good. Is it true or just a load of BS? All the talk about it just makes me want to start maining shotties.
 
I would join, but summer classes are in the way. Once regular school starts I should be able to play with you guys on clan days.

I'm not good in the first place and had a horrible night even by my standards. Sorry to anyone who got caught on my team.

Oh boy is this update taking its time.

I can give up my clan slot if you need more room, since I don't play very regularly. I'll keep some of you on my friends list, though. Who knows when I might appear??
 
I got on, but I was busy and late so I didn't make it. Yea, the update is killer, I downloaded it last night and it took like 3 hours on the P2P setting. I played for an hour eariler, it wasn't as fun as it used to be. I hate the fact most matches are TDM with rarely only one or two rooms doing CAP or Bases.

I only started using the shotgun because I wanted to level it, but I slowly am liking it. It dosn't feel at all like it did in beta or initial release of MGO... The knockdown and stagger rate for when you land a shot on someone seem alot higher now. It's pretty much impossible to headshot with the thing, but it can take out opponents like nothing when close. It's great against snake in sneak games due to the fact that snake has to be close most of the time. It takes forever to level up though compared to most other guns >_

Is that really still in the game? I was hoping they'd catch stuff like that this time around after seeing all the YouTube videos of the last MGO where it looked like everyone was running around with auto-shotguns. I think they were using a quick unequip glitch, though.

Yeah, you could just unequip/equip it to cancel the reload animation.

Im busy with work so I couldn't make it. You know, some people have real lives to attend to. The CAG clan is a joke though, Im about to drop out.

Oops, I wasn't trying to be serious with that comment. Sorry for the confusion. I'm especially sorry that you got so offended that you had to pull the "some people have real lives to attend to" card.
 
I think the main difference is that there's not just a two week window to play the game, so people that had the MGO beta higher in their gaming priorities have put it a bit lower because there's no time limit to playing the game. I do admit that I've been unable to play as much as I'd like, mostly for that reason and being busy with other things, as well.

If there are more people like smiggity think I'm a bad clan leader, I'll gladly give up the role to someone that's more willing to take lead and be a great leader for the clan.
 
The problem is nobody plays, when I was in the clan the only people I ever saw was Bav and Espy, and randomly a couple of others. For the most part there is no activity except for the two MGO nights, one which was a success, and I guess the recent one, which wasn't so much with few people showing up. People have probably moved on from the game also, I tried playing it again, but just don't feel it anymore, especially with the expanison deal, which I don't like. So it's also a matter of me refusing to buy the expanison that is stopping me from playing again.
 
I still play a lot, but I play at odd times usually, like early morning or late at night. I know I just played a few rounds with LiquidCake earlier today.

So, there was another update released (1.11). This is what I saw over on GameFAQs:

MP5 is now 1000 marked down from 2000.
DE is now 2000 marked down from 4000.
DSR is now 10000 marked up from 7000.
Claymores are now free, used to be 1000 or 750 I think.
C4 is now free, used to be 1500 I believe.

Changes to CQC:

At Lv3 CQC, a 2H CQC Slam does 100% stamina damage for an instant KO. Used to be 90% or something like that.

Also, at any level of CQC, when you're grabbing someone and want to throw them forward or backward (not the same as CQC slam, the one when you're already in a grab), it will do as much damage as if you CQC slammed them, based on your CQC level. Ex: At Lv3 CQC the forward and backward throws will do 50% stamina damage, same as standard CQC slam.

So, I finally achieved Doberman rank. Apparently, the animal ranks are determined via your K/D ratio and win percentage in game categories, not just overall, like back in the original MGO. My win percentage in base and team sneak were both below 50%. I got them up to around 60%, and then my animal rank shot up two spaces at once.

I really dislike games that don't explain ranks/icons/levels and so on right up front. Annoying thing about this title for me
 
So, match tonight?

This'll be the first time I see how badly they've gimped my handguns. (Handguns were actually my main weapon when I played. :X) Man, I hope I've still got it. But I used to be a shotgun fiend in MGO1, so we'll see how this fares in the match tonight.
 
Yes, there will be another game tonight, as the thread title suggests.

There's a new MGO update, right? I'll have to log on now and get that downloaded even earlier than before.
 
The update's not nearly as big as the last one. This one took maybe five minutes or so using the P2P option to download and install.

It seems that the reward shop's working now, which is great because this should've been there since the launch. Now to see if there's anything to buy.
 
I like their message about the expansion. "get you'rs." Oh, Konami.

Edit: Lol. After having only played for like two weeks, and then stopping I'm ranked 68th in Base. I guess it's a big drop from 9th, but still...does nobody play it anymore?

Yeah, just called it quits because only one person showed up. We may be done with weekly games and try to figure out some other way to go about doing this.
 
I blame the expanison and everybody playing the same stuff. So it's impossible for me to find any bases or capture missions which nobody does. Thus I have put my copy of the game on the shelf and in the limited edition box so I'm kinda lazy to go get it out. I'm kinda saden since I loved the original MGO so much, so many memories of that game.
