But seriously, I doubt it will remain 'unavailable' like this until September.   In addition to more concrete inventory numbers, and canceled orders from ppl buying at BB, it'll open up again.

For some reason I don't think this one will be so limited.  After all, it's just a baby arm.  If it was the full-sized replica, it would be different

 
Another thing to consider is that Metal Gear Revenegenanceanceanceance collectors edition is still available.  Which the argument could be made that they could of made too many and over estimated how much the game would sell.  The question is though, we all know that MGS5 will be much more popular than MGR, did Konami adjust MG5 CE production though based on MGR numbers to play it safe? Or did they also realize that MG5 is going to be more popular than MG5 and go balls to the wall with production.  Unfortunately without sales estimates with MGR and MG5, it would be hard to tell.  

Also i'd like in on the alerts, how do I go about that?

I checked CAG at 6:00am PST as i'm heading to work. Seems the CE lasted 3 hours online before selling out. Surprised it was up that long. Amazon must've limited it to one per household.

Edit: I'm on the westcoast, so got lucky

I missed out on ordering the japanese version through nin-nin or nippon-yasan and have instead turned towards using a buying and forwarding service to get it for me from konamistyle. Does anyone have any prior experience with noppin, white rabbit express or from japan? White rabbit express is the most expensive, but from japans rates seem too good to be true. Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks for the heads up on Amazon. I grabbed a Xbox One Phantom Pain CE although I would much prefer the PS4 one. I'll be refreshing Best Buy's site a bunch today. Given the price point, I think it's going to go within an hour, maybe less.

That's what I did for the Witcher 3 CE. I got the XB1 version since it had more things. It's not a big deal for me to sell the game and just by the PS4 version separately. With GCU, you don't lose much if anything.

The bad thing about BB lowering GCU of course, is that there will be more competition among us to get CEs from BB now.

BB is notoriously low in CE supplies compared to GS or Amazon. And they're more likely to cancel CE orders. If Amazon sold out PS4 version this fast, I dunno what to think about BB. I don't recommend canceling Amazon orders until last minute, in case BB decides to cancel your CE... you may end up with nothing if it's rare.

I'm hoping to catch MGSV CE on Best Buy. Locked in my copy at Amazon. I just hope Amazon/USPS don't screw up like they did with Majora's Mask. I never received my copy from Amazon because USPS decided to return it to Amazon after zero attempts at delivery (which the tracking hasn't updated in weeks and still say in transit). And Amazon wouldn't/couldn't do anything at that point.

Wasn't the MGS HD LE limited in quantity. Wouldn't that give you an idea of how rare or valuable this could become?

Seems nobody mentioned that and only brought up MGS 4 and MGR.

I'd be willing to import MGS5 if there was a steelbook only (G2) copy. Any idea if that's the case anywhere? Haven't seen any with some quick googling.

Let me put it this way. If it is on SONY, eventually it will be worth money. Some take quite a while to go up and realistically, it is only if they are sealed. Peace Walker took forever to go up and it probably has the smallest print run of anything since PS2.

 
I would also like to add the CEs are the same for both systems. They are interchangeable, so if I were to crack one open, I would buy one of the xbox versions down the line.

 
Missed the ps4 version  :wall: I only play console exclusives on xbox one so i kinda am going again my morals buying msg for an xbox system :(

I mention that quite a few post back but I guess that was overlooked. MGS HD LE was indeed rare and sold out before release, especially the PS3 version.

MGS4 LE had the potential to be rare and valuable but about 3 months before release, they've stripped away a lot of the extras leaving just the documentary and special case (which is really nice).

If I were buying the last gen version from BB, I'd be more interested in them updating the price. It's still $59 when GS and Amazon have it for $49 where it's supposed to be.
