wow cant check it out, tried switching to credit card instead of paypal and it wont let me do cc, keeps trying to go through payapl.. SHIT this is the first one all over again, any idea what i can do? tells me to select other form of payment but paypal is the only options showing

Glad to see its more under control this time. Not that I have plans to play it anytime soon, I really want it considering I have the LE of the first due to sheer dumb luck.

 
so it looks like the first order i did that gave me an error went through too... kinda. It shows 'awaiting payment' for some reason. I dont really want 2 since this isn't a very good LE and dont want to risk my order being canceled because of multiple orders. Anyone know how to contact them to get rid  of the screwed up first order?  I dont see any contact info on the page

 
Best Buy will start to take New 3DS XL pre-orders starting today in store as confirmed by my storea manager. This includes the standard Red and Black colors but also the Majora's Mask Special Edition. As with all Special/Limited editions, quantities are limited so please find your nearest Best Buy and pre-orders asap. If you need it, the SKU for the Majora's Mask Special Edition is 2304014.

During my first attempt at preordering a MM 3DS XL at Gamestop yesterday, there must have been at least four phone calls to the store asking about its availability. So I can understand employee frustration or sarcasm.

After about a half hour of trying to push my order through GS sold out in store. But I managed to get one from Best Buy last night, so all is well.
 
So NWS has the Mario Party LEs available for preorder now, please let us know if anyone sees these anywhere else.  Not going to NYC for this.

Is that even worth bothering with? I mean, that Amiibo probably won't be hard to find, so unless there's a bundle discount, I don't see the benefit.

Also, where's my release date for Yoshi's Woolly World?

Ok this is targeted to those very active in this thread or contribute to cag on a regular basic and active.  With the way the Limited Editions & Collector Editions been selling out fast as well as the LE Consoles due to Resellers and Lurkers & Slickdeals i'm considering making some changes around here in this thread and need some input:

Since as soon as stuff is listed here it is sold out in less then a ahour due to Resellers and people buying a dozen or more to hoard for resell it screwing everyone who just want at least one for there selves over. 

So when a hot Item is first listed as available for Pre-Order on a site  im thinking of just updating the Thread Title at the end to "Regulars Check PM" with a time stamp at the end and posting CHeck Pms in here as a post and that way when a hot item is first available for pre-order i will do a mass Group PM To the regulars and active Contributors of the Thread with the Link info of that item giving those members a head up first and then a hour or 2 later posting the link in this thread for all to see. 

So what everyone opinion on this idea? cause this sold out within minutes stuff lately due to resellers and hoarders is getting ridiculous

Not that I'd be considered a regular since I tend to stay away from collector's edition things unless they involve Zelda, but I don't know that it would help much. Somebody will likely make a new thread about it anyways and it will be gone just as fast. I guess if you're really on top of these kinds of things you might be able to give others a very short head start, though.

That could be a good solution to anyone who has CAG signed in on their phones etc. (like me), but sometimes I'll be checking a different PC and so wouldn't get the PM...

Actually, I guess I'd see the post that says "check your PMs" though so yeah.

Only other thing I can think about is what about newcomers who want to get on board the "Collector Train" -- how would they get on board?

Also - do you think that CAG really has that much of an effect that lurkers/resellers check this thread in droves?? I'm not being rude here, just curious.  It seems like with all of these pre-orders lately people have posted 2 or 3 random threads about them sometimes before this thread even gets an update.  Not sure if it'd be worth it to go through all that trouble, but it could be.  I'm just tossing out some thoughts on the subject.

 
Dreamer, the 'problem' is the new threads that pop up with just the single LE/CE as the subject. Within an hour there are hundreds and hundreds of posts and endless rage on those posts. It will be difficult to stop those.

This thread and the ones before you took it over are my main source of CE info - my omnibus of CE's, if you will. Shit, I got the scoop in here on the MM Skull Kid LE (from Vigilante) a couple hours prior to seeing the one-off thread about it.
 
Honestly when i look at the who is watching portion from the Target Clearance and during the MM and system thread i probably saw more lurkers and guests then i saw registered peeps. What ever makes it easier for us to co-exisit with the outside. Also as long as i'm on the list too i'm gravy. Probably make it that the whole forum is non-view able unless you log on or at least register up. Thinking that's a cheapy D thing or who ever runs the forum software. Would make it abit more legwork for those to sign up, instead of viewing topics ala anonymous. 

 
yeah other sites have way, way, way more impact on selling out than cag so i don't think it would really accomplish anything, especially for the CEs that sell out ultra fast.

 
Was going to jump all over the monster hunter 3ds then saw they aren't giving a charger with it and said screw it. I'll wait for Black Friday this year and see what their sale price is. So stupid not to include a charger.

While an interesting concept there are a few things that are causing this in the industry. You are getting more discussion on hot items on news blogs (Kotaku/Joystiq) and from there it can bleed over to slickdeals. I don't think CAG is the cause of shortages, but they do provide a heads up to other communities about available deals. While you're PM idea seems interesting, it may make more sense to just block this thread from non members -- this way you have to be signed in to read it. (Even rght now the guests outweigh the members: 16 members, 25 guests, 1 anonymous users)

 
For example, the New 3DS thread here has 1660 posts and 111K views. On Slickdeals it has 70 posts and 14K views. So it's silly to think that CAG somehow has no influence on things selling out so quickly. This forum is infested with comments on reselling, so I don't see the reason for the "us" versus "them" mentality. This place is a hotbed for flippers and hoarders so no need to pretend it isn't.

I like this idea. Trying to develop and maintain a list of regular users would be difficult.

As for the individual threads, there isn't much you can do about it without getting a mod involved.

It's an interesting idea but I don't think it'll change much in the long run. How will you prevent people from posting this stuff? I heard about the majora's mask N3DS from the amiibo thread for example. You can maybe do a twitter only invite and throw stuff out there but I think it sorta goes against the spirit of the board to have a group of insiders. It'll benefit the insiders most likely but you're going to foster resentment on the board as well as a result.

For example, I'm probably not considered and insider but will be a lot less inclined to present news about offers and items if this happened simply because I'm benefiting you and not vice versa.

 
Hey guys, got an issue with a buyer of one of my neptuna rebirth LE's. He's claiming now that the item was damaged and it's been 37 days since his order. His order was delivered 4 days after he ordered too. I'm pretty sure he's trying to scam me. Any thoughts,etc about this?

Since as soon as stuff is listed here it is sold out in less then a ahour due to Resellers and people buying a dozen or more to hoard for resell it screwing everyone who just want at least one for there selves over.

So when a hot Item is first listed as available for Pre-Order on a site im thinking of just updating the Thread Title at the end to "Regulars Check PM" with a time stamp at the end and posting CHeck Pms in here as a post and that way when a hot item is first available for pre-order i will do a mass Group PM To the regulars and active Contributors of the Thread with the Link info of that item giving those members a head up first and then a hour or 2 later posting the link in this thread for all to see.

So what everyone opinion on this idea? cause this sold out within minutes stuff lately due to resellers and hoarders is getting ridiculous

I'm not a regular poster - I'm an introverted lurker. (would you rather I contribute silence or 10k posts of nonsense?)

I would be interested to see the results of a Poll for this idea. I suspect that there would not be majority support in favor of such a model.

And ultimately, I think this idea would end up alienating a big population of users, drive down forum traffic, and thus decrease ad revenue for the owner of these forums.

What's the resolution he would like? I'd ask him what's damaged and why it took so long to report the issue.

Did you sell on eBay or on Amazon? What did you have as the description for the item? You might be screwed if you sold through the former (eBay almost always sides with buyers if they complain).

Also, ask him to provide photographic evidence of the "damage".

Don't feel bad about the "New" 3DS XL MM edition, I just canceled it, I can see better bundles coming up and I am not that interested in upgrading yet

He wants his money back pretty much and I did send an e-mail just now. I just find it suspicious that it took this long. My standard 30 day return policy is passed now too.

If you have disposable income you can always keep it. It's surprising how much the 3DS limited edition have kept in value. The yoshi one is still going for around $200

Through Amazon and yes I did ask for pictures of the "damage."
