Just called BBY and the lady said that they never received the stock from Nintendo and they cancelled all of the orders. Very strange but maybe it was because Best Buy wasn't on the retailer like game stop Frys and Amazon

i find that hard to believe this late in the game, guess we will find out, so far only about 10 or so members have reported cancellations

also why would some orders enter "preparing order" stage if they never received stock?

Slightly unrelated, but I just checked the status of my MM console at Best Buy and the autoamted phone system said it would be fulfilled on 2/19.  Not a fan of that...

I think the "preparing order" stage is when the desk jockey goes back into the warehouse and only sees empty shelves with cobwebs.

Man so Nintendo has screwed over best buy twice now. Sadly I don't see best buy pulling an Amazon and stopping Nintendo stuff from being sold in stores.
 
Best Buy Majora's Mask LE cancelled for me too. Email confirmation time was 1/7 at 9:03pm EST. This comes two days after I cancelled my Amazon order since this looked safe. lol

My order's still alive and kicking, and I noticed earlier today that it wasjust at "payment validated", now it's at "preparing order".  I ordered SUPER late, like 40 minutes in.  

 
Anybody's MM LE see any movement from Gamestop?  I got my pre-order in like almost immediately after the thread was made.

To do this to customers TWO DAYS BEFORE IT COMES OUT leaves people like me with no recourse to get it anywhere else besides ebay for $150 which is disgusting.

At least for people who ordered the console they got a cancellation email somewhat fast AND a $50 credit. All we get is "oops we screwed up, piss off"

EDIT: I do my best to defend Best Buy in situations, but this one really has me pissed off.

I only bought ONE copy for myself. Not to resell, not to keep sealed for collection. I bought a single copy to play/add to collection since I have never played MM and figured I'd get a nice statue.

But nope...screwed 100%.

The really shitting thing this might also do is drive up eBay prices too.

I hope BB makes this right for everyone and hands some credit out. That is absolutely unacceptable and makes me even more skiddish to try and pre-order anything at BB for something so limited even with the GCU discount. :/

Exactly my issue. I am hesitant to order anything that I REALLY want that might be rare because of this. A normal edition of a game will be fine, but this leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.

 
Welp, My Best Buy Majoras Mask CE was just cancelled as well...

Definitely hope they do something to make this right but oh well, I guess I'm lucky I didn't cancel my Amazon pre-order. If they over sold the thing, fine, but my issue is why are they JUST NOW letting us know.

 
i feel bad for those that got orders cancelled, its def messed up for them to cancel this close to release day

perhaps if they did it sooner, people couldve been more diligent with GS preorders when they opened up for a short time

FWIW this doesnt seem on the same scale of cancellations as the MM 3ds, not that many members are reporting cancelled emails as of now

Did anyone who ordered on Amazon get a shipping delay?  Mine was gonna be delivered Friday now it says Tuesday :(

Yea mine says Tuesday, it has ever since I ordered it though so I'm not too worried.

I just hope Best Buy doesn't cancel my system as well.

EDIT: Before it was canelled my BBY MM CE said "preparing for shipment" and then I received a text notifying me of it's cancellation.

that is why i usually pre-order the same item from two different retailers if it something i really want in case one get canceled i still have the other order

When you people are talking about the Majora's Mask LEs being cancelled, are you talking about the actual game or are you talking about the new 3DS systems?

 
Surprised mine is still alive. Won't even be that mad if they cancel since I really just got it for the statue and going to dump the game as soon as I get it.

 
This really is a Nintendo issue, other games have had extra units manufactured for retailers when they worked out preorder numbers so few cancellations had to occur.  I remember a few Destiny preorders got cancelled but bungie made a bunch extra for amazon and best buy based on pre-order sales numbers -- some even got sold closer to launch when stock numbers got tallied up.

In this case it seems like Best Buy was told they would get X and then Nintendo told them this week "nope, you are only getting this many too bad!"  I'm really beginning to see why Amazon doesn't sell consoles from Nintendo themselves, I guess the rumors of the Amazon buyer being the one to cut off the relationship is probably true.  I don't know how any retailer could trust Nintendo.

Both my 3DS XL and LE game are still alive on best buy but I wouldn't be suprised if both got cancelled, hopefully at least can get $50-100 GC out of it.  I'd be happy with it, fuck Nintendo and their shitty ass launch schemes.

Just an update. Long story short got off the phone with someone who sounded like they knew what they were talking about. They said Nintendo once again sent them less copies then they were supposed to, just like the N3DS MM edition. Everyone who got an order cancellation SHOULD be getting an email within 24 to 48 hours with a $50 voucher.

I specifically asked if this was for those who bought JUST the game since that is also what the people who bought the console got, and she said yes even if you just bought the game you will get the $50 to use on anything BBY sells.

I took a case number down where she said she wrote that $50 compensation down so if I get nothing or less than that I have something in my account noting the offer.

I rather get the item I ordered since if I want to get it on eBay it will be $150+, but a $50 voucher is better than what I expected.
