Its not true. He speed ran it. He is the same dude that claimed Wolfenstein: The New Order was only 7 hours long when it was more around 12.
Guys i have the Order :1886 Collectors Edition pre-order at BestBuy but now am worried about it :whistle2:k Has anyone seen the article on the game thats only 5 hours long ..... If its true am thinking about cancelling my order?

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-order-1886-leaks-to-youtube-in-full-playthroug/1100-6425327/
My first play through of Wolfenstein was at least 15+ hours. Do people really speed rush through games and if so why? I guess if you're a trophy/achievement whore (doesn't make sense to me but to each their own) it makes sense but if that is your primary goal of playing video games why would you buy games at release or at all (versus renting)?

If I'm going to buy a game at release I'm doing so to enjoy it which means I'm going to take my time with the game to explore and take in everything it offers versus rushing from checkpoint to checkpoint. That being said a lot of these "Game is only "X" hours" are usually just click baiting attention seeking articles. I have never played a game from start to finish and been anywhere close to the short end of what some of these people claim a game is.

June 2nd is months away, but with GCU working on collector's editions at BB, these collections always sell out online, so I'd get them now if you've got the cash/credit or you're just crazy enough to do so... X1 version has been available, but PS4 version just came back in stock online. Store pickup IS available.

X1:

(Now if only that Witcher 3 collector's edition would come back in stock...)
Because the web addresses were truncated I had no idea what game you were talking about until I clicked the link.

With GCU it is a good deal and yet I don't know why but I don't like that statue. Googling for a closer look at it made me realize I wish I got the Arkham Origins Collector's Edition statue.

I'd buy a great game that is only 5 hours long if I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is better than them adding 3-5 hours of pure fluff to it, which can be obvious and really ruin an experience. It also would tempt me to replay it more often without dreading the lame parts (see Red Dead Redemption's far too many tutorial missions).

That being said I don't see the draw to the Collector's Edition. Are you wanting it just because or is something in particular drawing you to it? I only ask because the price tag I pay for a game adds weight to my expectations. In other words I'm far less demanding of a game I paid $15 for than I am a game I paid $100 for.

Nah, the AO CE statue looked better in the advertisements than in real life (IMO). The final product was poor compared to what what shown. The TVs were all cloudy and poor looking, the statue had plastic "strings" coming off of it everywhere (at least most of the people I talked to said the same thing) and the overall weight was really light and cheap-feeling. Was one of TriForce's worst statues IMO.

Did you guys just gloss over Deader's post which immediately followed the post you quoted?

Whats worse is, I went to NYCC before the game came out. What sold me on the game, was going to the panel with Troy Baker and company, what sold me on the special edition was they showed the statue at the project triforce booth. What we got looked nowhere near what they were displaying. Project Triforce makes shitty editions for games, plain and simple.

The game could be 1 hour long and have 10 hour cutscenes that you can't skip and I'll still buy it.

The Order 1886 = GOTY

Well until Bloodborne comes out then it becomes runner up  :D

Did you read the article it says he didn't skip any of the cutscenes so how is that he speed ran it?

Someone working on the game said that the average was around 13-15 hours
Do you have a link to that please? The reason i ask is i saw another article saying it was just 3hrs long.

Game is 2.5 hrs. Cinema is 2.5...... Something wrong with that.
Exactly a $60 game that only has 5 hrs. story mode, no online multiplayer, and wouldn't really have any replay value is kinda a rip off to me!

When did games become a value proposition? If the game is fun to play and has a good narrative I don't care if it's 5 hours or 15 hours long.

Besides I need a reason to turn on my PS4, it's been far to long.

Any one else who ordered the $150 CE for The Order from Amazon get a email saying they won't receive it till the 24th? I have the two day shipping and on the page it says guaranteed delivery on release day

Users on GAF that got their hands on the Order early are saying it's at least 10 hours long.  2.5 hours sounds more like a speed run than a playthrough.  I'm not worried about it.

when they started costing $60. Everyone praises portal but they would have thrown a shifit if it was $60

For $60, I expect the same amount of content as most other games at that price range. Would you pay $15 to see a 15 minute movie in the theaters?

From everything I've read, that content just isn't there. 5 hours or 12 hours. With a completely linear game with 0 replayability, no new game+, no multiplayer, no thanks! Wait until it hits the bargain bin.

Thanks to GCU, I expect to get $40+ back for The Order by the time I get its platinum trophy and trade it in to Best Buy. A ~$5 rental plus all of the CE extras (I got in on the $59.99 price glitch when it first went up last year) sounds pretty great to me.

On the fence about the Order.  Got the CE pre-ordered.  Santa Monica and Ready at Dawn are both responsible for God of War games, which are my all time favorite, so I'm leaning towards buying it just to support them.  Even though i doubt it will measure up to that quality.  Man I miss Kratos.

This! I typically dont look for quantity over quality with my games because i just trade them in. If you were lucky enough to get in on the glitch i think the extras and a rental are well worth the 5-10 bucks. If 1886 is as entertaining as Ryse or second son im ok with the short campaign and trading it in. That being said 5 hours is too short for a $60 game but i dont believe its that short...time will tell.

After the Majora's mask fiasco I don't think anyone has any faith in best buy limited pre-ordering
Nope, still got faith. And if BB screws up, they are usually really good about compensating.

It's dealing with Nintendo LE stuff that I don't have faith. Even with the Nintendo World store because they are piss poor at handling the line. Way too many people cut in the line before they even bother giving out wristbands (usually an hour before the event time).

The only issue in my mind is trading it back in, do you think it will have a cool steelbook that you want to keep and ALSO a regular game cover, or just the steelbook? I hate trading discs only into Best Buy, (a) because i feel like i'm ripping off the person buying it (b) don't wanna get hassled by my local BBY reps, always had good relations with them and don't want to ruffle that.

but yeah I got in on the $40 price too so definitely keeping my order in, the shorter the game the happier I am honestly means it'll be a fast bang out and trade. The only thing is I think if sales do bad, which I fully expect they will, it will be a huge warning sign to companies to not do single player only games since so many kids nowadays prefer to watch it on twitch than actually play. Which would be a bummer since I prefer fully immersive SP games to MP games 90% of the time.

So the MM LE Best Buy told me was backordered until at least Mid March just shipped. Interesting.
fuck. Mine still hasn't. I emailed them this morning about it. If they try to give me some $10 off bs I'm going to be pissed. The least they could have done by now is emailed with an excuse or just a backorder email or a fuck you or something.

just a heads up for anyone who ordered the Majoras Mask 3DS console from Best Buy.I just received an email stating it has shipped with tracking #

I don't know what do about the insanity today over The Order. I have the $80 CE ordered - but am kind of leaning toward canceling this altogether and just getting the regular edition when it inevitably drops to $40 for an Amazon Gold Box or BB DotD in a couple months...

I don't know what to do about The Order either. I got the CE preordered at Best Buy cause it was mispriced at $60, so it was $52 with GCU.

But this was back on Fourth of July, and I thought I'd have a PS4 by now.

1886 will definitely drop like a rock since it has no multiplayer and is short, if you aren't going to play it this weekend and don't wanna deal with the hassle of resell i'd cancel.  $30 price on it within 3 months, probably $20 black friday deals.

Not necessarily. Bioshock and Mass Effect were single player games that weren't much longer.

Plus, as a mostly RPG player, who cares about the length. Just because an RPG I play is 100+ hours, doesn't make it better than a 10 hour game. Unless it's Homefront.

Just got my Free Cancelled Majora's Mask in from Best Buy and it was in Fact the Limited Edition with Figure.  Talk about a good deal.  A bit sad they cancelled my MM 3DS XL, but this made my day esp since i ended up with MM LE and a new 3DS XL for $130.

This sounds about right. Now if you were going to talk about something like Bloodborne...I think that will drop slower for sure.

Still waiting for my MMN3DSXL from BBY, but in a small surprise, my MM Collector's Guide from Amazon is arriving today instead of the estimated arrival day of Friday

This is why it's never a good idea to buy a CE for a new IP
Two of my biggest collecting regrets were not buying CE's for a new ip. Dead Space 1 Ultra Edition & The Last of Us Post Pandemic are both near the top of my wants for last gen CE's.

I remember being on the checkout page for DS but deciding against it saying "Eh, its a Resident evil clone by EA, no one is gonna want that" (DS1 ended up being my fav game of the 360). As for TLoU, after seeing how Target, BBY & GS were flooded with the Uncharted 3 CE's, I thought it was going to be a similar situation (nope).
