Can anyone confirm on whether or not a person would be able to purchase the Day One Edition from Gamestop then return the game copy that comes bundled with the CE for a full refund? That seems like an alternative for those that ordered the collectors edition/

Edit: I don't think Best Buy did either. Where was it stated that the Day One edition was included?

If they forgot to include the DLC I'm sure they will provide you a way of getting it. It was advertised as such in their official advertisements. That's false advertising, they can't do that. They'd get sued.

 
Yeah it'll either get sent as codes that will then be distributed by various retailers on launch day, or the content will just be free (I really don't think so because otherwise people won't have any incentive to buy their 'Day One Please Give Us Your Money' edition).  They'll find a way, they have to or there'll be an uproar.  We paid for EVERYTHING that was advertised in the CE.

OK. So we made the unboxing of the Collector's Edition on YouTube yesterday and we noticed they didn't have DLC codes anywhere.

We talked to Konami and they gave us an answer: because of an error on the process, PS4 editions don't have DLC codes on the box. Xbox One editions have them.

Next week, Konami will send us the DLC codes for giving them to our clients. I suppose this will happen on every retailer.

So... GREAT NEWS. :)

I am pretty sure the Japanese premium is also going to get the same steelbook as the U.S. CE. The Japanese Premium and special edition will include the white art book though.

My bad, the neogaf member who did the unboxing said that the map is there and that the only thing missing is the codes. I thought I read somewhere they said the codes and maps are missing but I guess not.

So the physical map is included but codes are missing.

I love the people bitching about the size of the arm.  The advertisement clearly states it is a HALF SIZE replica of Snake's arm.  Shit never said life size.

I kind of wanted the full scale, but $250 is too much. The half scale is cool and I can probably find a place to display it easier.

Oh I'm seeing conflicting reports now. So it's actually an Artbook with the same image as that Shinkawa steelbook? I heard someone say you get 2 steelbooks with the jp premium edition

Where are you hearing that from? I am guessing some people are thinking the white artbook is the steelbook too.

Edit: It looks like the Japanese version is getting a different steelbook than the U.S.

Edit: After some reading and seeing the video of the items I don't think that the Japanese version will get a steelbook at all. The case look like it is some kind of hard cardboard and not a steelbook.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to submit a pre-order right now becase the BBY site is telling me I can't put in a pre-order for something with a credit card that has an expiration date within 15 days of the release date.  I've never seen this before.  The listing does not have a date provided, so I'm not sure what that is all about.

It's happened to me before. I think it's to protect them from getting stiffed on an order if the card might expire close to ship date.

It's because they have a placeholder expiration date in there and not a real expiration date.

 
Well after seeing the Konami video of the MGS V Special Edition I don't think Japan will get any steelbook at all.

No they get the same steelbook as NA. What looks like the EU steelbook is actually the artbook.

The CE's actually supposed to come with special dlc? If there's no map included in the CE then that would be an epic fail.

I wonder if target would actually ship me one or give me a gift card for cancellation
 
My Best Buy order still just says pre-ordered, and my Amazon one says arriving by 8PM Tuesday (given the rumors of scarcity I'm too scared to cancel either one until I'm sure I have the best buy one coming in for sure).
