imo the controller is the coolest part about it, the system itself though is pretty ugly. Vader's face on it? Is that really it? Microsoft did a great job with their SW themed system.

Eventually I'm sure, but since you can get the console/controller by either buying the standard LE bundle or the Disney Infinity bundle (Walmart Exclusive) I'm sure there will be plenty to go around at release

6. A shut-in who doesn't watch much for movies (me). I saw parts of the old ones when I was younger, and I wasn't all that entertained. I think I've seen 6 in its entirety. I saw 1-3 in their entirety in theaters (can't remember if I saw 2 in theaters or not). For some reason, I just don't take to watching movies.

Also, I'm also tempted by that console. However, I'm dead-set on the Halo 5 Xbox One AND the Master Chief controller, and I'm not sure I can justify $300 for the console (after selling my current one), $70 for the second controller, then probably $450-500 on the PS4, ESPECIALLY since I also intend to get a PS3.

If I'm lucky, I can get a PS3 in September, play the Kingdom Hearts games over a 2-month period, then they'll have another $150 trade-in deal towards a PS4 when those Star Wars bundles are out.

I've seen them all and they didn't do much for me. Looking back I wouldn't care if I had never seen them them and have no desire to rewatch them. They aren't bad, the universe is just uninteresting to me.

I'm a Star Wars fan, but I'm not into the design of this console. I'd rather have subtle features that go with the flow and aesthetics of the system itself (like the SW 360 console). How about incorporating the Galactic Empire logo instead of just putting Vader's face? With the orientation of his face, this would look awkward if you place the console horizontally.
 
I am not really a big Star Wars fan either but the original picture quality is really bad now. If you never seen Star Wars you might as well watch the updated version. Not sure why you would want to watch the original if it is your first time watching it.

The new Star Wars by Disney looks pretty good though.

If I'm going to buy a PS4, I'd rather it be something better than a boring console. It's not that I dislike the series, I'm just bad at watching movies. This is the first custom PS4 that I've seen that looked good (other than the PS1 version that was super-limited, and I didn't have money for that).

Ok. I personally wouldn't buy a design of a ps4 for something I'm not a super fan of. Like if they made a Star Trek one I wouldn't buy it even though I enjoy the newer ones I am not a big enough fan to buy a ps4 themed after it. But hey if you like it and want it then I hope you get one.
 
I love Star Wars.  I'm a hardcore fan and I would buy a console just for the image/SW branding.  But, this one doesn't impress me all that much.  The console is cool enough, but the controller is butt.  Honestly, the biggest draw for me is probably Super Star Wars digitally, lol.  Is that available anywhere else??

I mean, I'm not a fan of the color plain black, either. I'm not a huge Forza fan (I like it, though), but given that the price difference between a basic 1-TB Xbox One and a Forza 6 one is $0, I'd totally go for it, because there's no added cost and you get something better than TMCC with it.

If the added cost is negligible, I'd rather go for a painted console of something decent. Like I said, not a Star Wars naysayer, just not that big on it. It's not like I'd go buy the Arkham console, just because, even though I don't like Batman or that game series. I at least somewhat like Star Wars, I just don't feel like watching movies.

If you've only seen Episodes 1-3 in their entirety, then you've never seen a Star Wars movie.

Yeah, the Star Wars one was just announced and the halo one last month. They were both announced just over 2 months from their respective games releases. Same with the destiny and other LE consoles. With the exception of Nintendo (who still gives at least a months notice) nobody announces a LE console 2 weeks before a launch. May want to import this one if it comes available again.

I would keep an eye on Amazon.it, Amazon.de, and Amazon.fr around release date for cancelled orders. I ordered mine from Amazon.fr last month cheaper than it would cost to get the Destiny Bundle with tax. Or the Arkham Knight Silver Ps4 before tax.

 
I would have bought my first 360 at retail if the controller was also r2d2 themed. I think the gold is gaudy.

The Ps4 is a let down too. Even if they did a stencil of the empire on one side and the rebel logo on the other, it would be better.

 
I sort of like the SW PS4 ... it could have been worse. With that said, it's not great and very limiting because you really can't swap in a new cover without it looking weird with 1/2 a Vader head.

Will stick with my batman PS4 ... actually bought it in the hopes of a Fallout 4 cover, which should look great with the gunmetal color scheme.
 
yep, tried to get a star wars 360, but never did :( 

far better than a ps4 with a picture on it.  Never knew it made R2 sounds...  not a huge star wars fan, but that's slick.

My R2D2 360 is the ONLY console I own that isn't the original "vanilla" release coloration of my systems. It took a lot to get me to not stick with the vanilla look, and they sure as hell did exactly what convinced me to do it.

If that Darth Vader PS4 had all the cool bells and whistles that my R2D2 360 had, I'd be all over it. Vader breathing sounds when it turns on? Hell, I'd even like it if they added an Episode III Vader "NOOOO" when it turns off. A controller that looks like his light saber would have been rad. Make the vents light up with red LED's when it's on? fuck yes.

 
The issue I see with the console is that it looks like the vanilla console with vader sticker on it; the controller looks like there was some effort put in, but it doesnt have enough to convince me to buy the controller if it was sold it by itself.

Amazon France is your best bet if you are in the states. Shipped it comes out to ~400 USD. GAME wont ship anything over 1kg international (i tried). Plus if you bought from them, it'd cost 369 GBP which is ~= $575! Yikes!
