the star wars bb-8 toy is in stock at a bunch of retailers including gamestop, best buy, amazon, and literally dozens more.  $150.  will probably be the hot toy of 2015, if you have a kid you need to buy the love of

I just got my new MGSV PS4 yesterday and love it. My question is the disc drive doesn't feel as smooth as my original PS4, I don't know how to describe it. It feels like it requires a little more pressure to accept a disc in the bluray slot..

I know they changed the drive in these new models, but I don't know if this is normal. It reads fine, just feels like when you insert the disc it has to be pushed in a little more to activate the trigger/switch so the ps4 knows a disc is being inserted... Just didn't know if anyone else's was like this.
 
Also I was being careful not to miss, hitting the glossy cover so I was inserting the disc really slowly... If I put it  in faster, it feels fine (that's what she said)

Mine's the same way. I just assumed it might be dust catcher on the front is stiffer. Doesn't seem worrisome to me. Also I like the fact the eject and power buttons are actual buttons now.

My bad for misunderstanding your question yesterday,

This to me sounds normal. I know they redesigned certain aspects of the PS4 and the MGSV console is one of the first to have these changes. I wouldn't be worried about it.

Thanks to both of you! Have me feeling better now about it. You guys liking yours so far? I was unable to change the dvd region, which isn't a big deal because I have my 360, X1, and PS3 connected. But damn, I think the console looks pretty good! And no sweat about the misunderstanding!

Btw, to those wondering about shipping. I did email them about shipping because some people with the cheapest shipping got theirs on Weds, and mine got delayed because Amazon gave it to UPS late. Anyhow, I sent a polite email asking if they could do anything such as a partial shipping refund to equal the middle or cheapest shipping. I didn't think they would do anything, but they gave me a full shipping refund!

 
Keep it up with all the foreign amazon complaints.  Next time that they won't ship an exclusive euro LE to America you'll know why.

 
Not sure how a person who paid more for a faster shipping service and got their item the same day as those who paid for the slowest shipping service is wrong for asking for a refund.  Or, those who received damaged goods asking for a partial refund are wrong as well.  Maybe, Amazon should have better shipping quality control?

You didn't get your console late. They just got their console early. No room for complaints. Next time you know that there's no reason to pay extra for shipping, especially international when a lot of it will be outside of their control.

The item itself getting damaged due to inadequate packing is a valid cause for complaint.

Just for the record, I never asked for a refund because I got what I paid for in the condition it should have been.

Others who contacted Amazon and asked for a refund did so because they were unhappy with how their product was shipped (damaged) and how they paid more for a service that offered no benefit for the price. While some customers may get fantastic service, such as yourself apparently, others might not.

If Amazon wanted to, they could have asked for photos of the damage and refuted the request for a partial refund on all of those instances where they issued them.

Just a thought.

Here's a thought for you...

Based on the size and weight of the console Amazon really only had one feasible way to ship these and that was UPS International Saver. Just like it would be STUPID to upgrade from first class to priority for a standard video game (because most of the time they travel the same speed) just like it'd be stupid to pay for UPS Next Day when you live close enough to a hub where ground would get it to you in the same time frame it very well, may have been, stupid to pay extra for shipping when there was really only one viable shipping option for Amazon. Lesson Learned.

You paid extra and got the game within the time frame that was stated. Others didn't pay extra because they didn't care, or they figured something like this would happen.

Think of it this way, if you're selling a few CE's on eBay, all of which weigh less then two pounds, and your "Free" shipping option is USPS Parcel Select, but it's by far cheaper to ship that item Priority, are you going to pay more out of your pocket to ship it Parcel Select just because your customers didn't upgrade, or because perhaps the one customer that did pay to upgrade "may" be an entitled shit and get angry because his friend got his at the same time and you didn't pay extra to ship it a slower method?

Just to clarify, I paid for the slowest shipping, not the fastest. I received my console earlier than was stated (September 11th-14th was my original arrival date). I got lucky I guess but if I was one of those other customers and paid $15 bucks more and got my console the same day as those who paid for the slowest shipping, not to mention my item came smashed and damaged, yea I would be a tad bit upset.

You do have a point though on the shipping aspect. Amazon could have refuted the request however. They did not have to give those customers refunds, so that is on them.

So you would be upset because someone else got their order earlier then what they were estimated to get it at? You would be upset because you got your order in the time frame you were estimated for? SMH some people these days.

I got lucky I guess but if I was one of those other customers and paid $15 bucks more and got my console the same day as those who paid for the slowest shipping, not to mention my item came smashed and damaged, yea I would be a tad bit upset.

You do have a point though on the shipping aspect. Amazon could have refuted the request however. They did not have to give those customers refunds, so that is on them.

the Thinkwell claptrap toy is a figure only, does not move or anything. The Borderlands CE one is a fully functioning remote control toy controlled by ios/android app. with lights.

It has been available for a long time. I don't believe it will really be anything special. You're pretty much just buying every Fallout game for PC and it comes in a little case. I believe that's it.

Every previous Fallout game for $40 and a RAD NUKE is pretty special.

It'll probably warm shelves for awhile though.

I might end up using the nuke as a phone holder on my desk at work.

 
Yeah I think what it came down to is the main Amazon France shipping hub that connected with the U.S. simply had the extra space and capacity to take on the standard shipping packages. If you have one plane that can carry everything all together overseas, it makes sense to just load the cart up with everything instead of waiting on the next flight for the convenience of the warehouse staff. When I sell anything on a Saturday morning, I just pack it and bring it with me to the post office even though it's listed to ship out the next business day (Monday). I'd rather just drop everything off in one trip instead of having to do it on the following weekday. If I don't sell anything until then, I end up saving myself a trip to the drop box and I usually make the customer happier because I've dropped off first class packages on a Saturday morning before and have it arrive the following Monday.

I get people bitching at me because I asked for a partial shipping refund from Amazon, once... I didn't hound them or even expect them to do anything. And I was very polite, that and it wasn't UPS' fault. Amazon dropped it off late to UPS.

But the people on here who get their package a day late, or it gets cancelled they hound Amazon reps, and if one rep doesn't do something for them, then they keep calling or going on chat until someone gives them something back. And then everyone on here is fine with that. I don't get some of the people on here.

And my delivery date was supposed to be Weds the 2nd.

As for timeframe and pricing, I buy things from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr all the time, not just games and amiibos. A lot of AutoGlym and other car products I can't get here in the States so I import them. Anyhow, when I use their cheapest shipping it usually takes a week and a half to two weeks to get. When I use their fastest it's 2 days, unless it gets caught in customs which is beyond Amazon's control. That and i import a lot of CE blurays from them too. So I've probably bought more from Amazon in Europe than a lot have from Amazon.com, and this is my first time complaining to them.

Either way I'm done, and don't care to explain myself any further.

Weather was the cause of your delay and even with the delay people still got their PS4 between the estimated arrival date or even earlier in some case. Not UPS or amazon fault, but let's try to move on.

Since I semi started this apparent spat about shipping speeds I figure I should mention that I did not contact amazon even though I paid the fast shipping.  I got what I paid for and a potential lesson if there is ever a next time.  Plus, this might just be a lucky shipping situation for those who paid less and not the norm.  Nothing to see here.

For anyone who did buy the MGS 5 CE the DLC code sells for $30-50 on ebay/craigslist, not a bad way to mitigate most of the cost.  Its just a bunch of skins and kinda dumb ones like boxes, shield and weapon skins, not sure why anyone really wants it.  The arm however is making for a wonderful back and dog scratcher.

You can still order Uncharted 4 CE in store (or online, home delivery only though) at gamestop.

Also got an email about a new batman arkham knight statue for $100 from square, with how crappy arkham knight character was I have a feeling no one cares.  It looks like a transformer built by "i love sharp things" guy.

Thanks for the heads up! Grabbed one as my Amazon copy *still* hasn't shipped and the delivery date keeps being pushed back. Anyone else still waiting on theirs from Amazon?

At least with Gamestop there's a better chance of it arriving undamaged.

I think I'm going to give in and buy the hardcover game guide for MGS5. It just looks so nice.

Anyone know if bestbuy will pricematch the guide? Amazon has it for $22 still.
