Well these bundles come with a digital copy of the game, whereas that LC CE did not come with any version of the game at all.

I'm still hyper-stoked for the console, but that Guardian statue is probably going to end up in the trash...

 
It's pretty fucking insane they're trying to describe some kind of benefit to the game being a digital code in that video linked above. Some bullshit about a "head start" or yadda yadda. Screw that garbage.

This CE at least has a code for the digital version. That Lara Croft "Gold Edition" thing did not have a physical or digital copy of the game in it.

Still, definitely looking more at the LE for Halo 5 instead of the big-ass-no-disc-TROLLOOLOOLL-LCE version.

Well OK that's true. Kinda funny how they called the "Gold Edition." Although it would be funnier if these Halo 5 CEs start getting cleared out say at $50 at Gamestop some time down the road...you know...if people refuse to buy into the digital shoehorning of these companies these days.

an actual benefit to it might've been to let all purchasers of the LCE, who are spending all this fucking money, actually play the fucking game a week early, but no we can't have that. you can just look at your empty fucking steelbook while you wait a whole week motherfuckers!!!

 
That Halo 5 statue is awesome. Even better that it separates to make bookends. My MK9 is in storage so this makes up for it.

Also, anyone else find it funny that Larry was like, "So THAT'S a guardian?" Like it was a rip on Destiny, lol.

343 industries announced that they are setting something up so people who buy the Halo 5 limited collector's edition have a way to trade in the code for an actual disc. However they have not announced any details yet. Personally I'm getting tired of waiting and will probably cancel mine and just go with the standard collectors edition without the statue. There is a big thread on the HaloWaypoint forums, and lots of collectors were pissed about no disc included.

What was stupid about the whole thing is most people that buy the Collectors Editions of anything are people that want the physical disc. The casual gamers who don't care about trading anything in, physical ownership and yada yada are probably not the people spending $250.

 
I think BB updated the item name for that AC 3DS. It now mentions NFC Reader instead of the generic "bundle". Pic is still wrong though.

Man, that thing is gorgeous. Yes, you can import it. I just ordered two copies. Came to $148.87 USD for two copies shipped (shipping cost was the same for 1 or 2 copies, so I went with two to hopefully get one dent-free). Thanks for the heads up.

Already have a deluxe copy for ps4 ordered from that Best Buy half off glitch a while back. Are x1 games region locked? If I'm going to order this might as well get it for my other system.

Anyone know how Amazon works their trade in values on newly released video game collector's edition? I got a Halo CE from BB when they were half off and I'd like to take the DLC and game code out and trade the rest in to get my money back. I've never looked at newly released collector's edition trade in values before though, and none come to mind at the moment. 

 
if anyone in the Los Angeles area was trying to get a MGS V PS4 console but couldn't, shoot me a message. I am having second thoughts.

In my experience, there are many CEs that never have any trade value.
Those that do typically start out at $53.29 and frequently never budge upwards from that value.
This applies to CEs retailing from $99-$200+.
Some TIVs are active 30-90 days prior to release so it doesn't hurt to check early.
 
I'm sure the Guide Thread is buried and it doesn't receive much traffic. Here's a look at the lithographs included in the Fallout 4 CE Guide.

Never ordered anything from Square Enix before. Wanted to get the Dragon Quest Heroes special edition to support the Dragon Quest franchise in the West. And then saw shipping was $18. What a joke. They need to offer a slower, cheaper option.

I'll just pre-order the regular edition at Best Buy.

That's it. They just haven't updated it properly. If you just search chibi robo it brings 2 results. One that is 29 and that one that is 39. 39 is the price of the bundle on lamestops site.

$39.99 is also the price of the bundle on Amazon. The bundle being $10 more for the amiibo being included isn't any different than with MP10 or Yoshi's Woolly World, so it seems likely they haven't updated the illustration for the placeholder on BB.com.

Okay, so I looked into this. Like you said, it's funny that SE calls this a "Square Enix Online Store Exclusive". Apparently not. Anyways, Gamestop is selling it for $120. SE is selling it for $99 + $18 shipping. So really no difference, unfortunately.

Not sure why they are charging $18 shipping now. When I preordered a few months ago shipping was $9 I think since my total was $108. Shipping was still high, just not $18 high.

 
Did it already go up on Amazon? I was interested in Heroes, but not for that damn much shipping. (Or the lolgamestop tax)

Wow my order says 5 dollar shipping. I've been debating getting it at GS instead tho. I'm kinda curious about the cloth banner hehe.

Mine is $5 shipping also. Btw you do know Gamestop charges $120 + tax + shipping right. SE stores charges $100 + shipping and no tax.

I live in NH (no tax) , and could pre order at my local store (no shipping). Still, it is $15 more for a just cloth banner... but one of my favorite IPs. I'll prolly just stick with the SE store one, and regret my choice if I see the banner and it is awesome :rofl:
