Older CE's are in the 2nd post!

FAQ's:

  • Amazon & Gamestop do not have a pre-authorization charge.
  • Bethesda Store and any of the Treehouse Brand Stores do not have a pre-authorization charge either.
  • Best Buy, NISA Store, Square-Enix Store all have a pre-authorization that goes away after 3-4 days or so, 7-10 days max.
  • All pre-orders with Paypal, you pay the full amount when the order is placed NOT when it is shipped.  This goes for every retailer that takes Paypal as a form of payment
  • Be cautious when going for free shipping from any Exclusive Store since they all use Digital River.  Say you order 2 CE's from S/E Store and they have different release dates, DR will wait till the last item comes out to ship yours.  Meaning (since Digital River sucks donkey balls), they could end up selling your pre-order on the first item to release and you could be SOL.  Also be careful ordering something to get your free shipping threshold as well because if the item goes OOS, then you have to wait for it to come back in stock.  This happened to many CAGs ordering the Lightning Returns CE from the S/E store because they ordered key chains that went OOS.
  • ^TL;DR Version:  If something goes out of stock or is not out yet, it will delay your order.

I'm keeping my Titanfall order from Gamestop for the CE. If it's still avaiable 3 weeks after release, then I'll return and rebuy it so I have another month to watch out for a deal lol.

Cancelled my Titanfall CE preorder at BB

$250 is too much & really doubt it will hold its value. Almost reminds me of how people were going crazy about the Star wars MMO when it launched at $150.

I was able to pick up the CE at BB for $20
Hopefully they pop up before the game comes out and I can snag one of the cancelled orders.

I broke down & ordered the Dark Souls II CE tonight.  What is wrong with me???  :p  I was inspired when I found the tin case & slipcover for the Prepare To Die edition of the original DS on a used copy at Gamestop today for $12.  Unfortunately no artbook, but I'm going to go back tomorrow & ask the manager if he can check around for it if he gets a chance & call me if he finds it - he just transferred in from another store & recognized me so I think he'll probably do it.  Won't hurt to try!

I've had the CE of DS2 set up for a long time. I'm struggling to convince myself that South Park Stick of Truth doesn't need to be preordered. I know there will be copies everywhere for a while but I'm losing that argument with myself.

I have both as well, but stupid J Victory Stars is making me consider having to cancel one, and I'm leaning toward Dark Souls 2's. (Can't see myself doing much with the statue, and the other extras dont seem that great for the price). Might just get the Black Armor edition and call it a day

South Park seems like one of those CE's that's bound to be overproduced & in the bargain bin everywhere in a few months. Meanwhile, I see DS2 selling out either before launch or shortly after. I had the CE of Demon's Souls, traded it in & regretted it later. I had the CE guide for Dark Souls, sold it & still regret it. I've decided I'm getting the CE & guide for DS2 and keeping them both because I don't want to regret it later. ;)

The hell? The guide is worth THAT much? I brought the thing for 15$ and have it right next to my bed (Planning to use it when I get around to platting DS)

Was it a short print or something? Now you guys are making me consider cancelling South Park and keeping DS2.....

Due to updates, there is a lot of outdated and incorrect info in the guide. You can't do any better than a trophy guide the dark souls wiki.

Short print run - guides like that are more a collector's thing than anything else so the info being out of date matters little.  The Tales of Vesperia guide is supposed to be horrible from a information standpoint, but because the print run was small & the game got such a cult following it goes for big money too.

Sounds a lot like my story except I passed on both the CE guide and CE. I have had DS2 Steelbook version and CE guide ordered for a few months now.

Future Press guides tend to be shorter print runs. They are also higher quality, IMHO. A lot of their CE hardcover guides increase in value (Bayonetta, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Portal 2), but there are some that tank (Soul Calibur V).

I have the guide, Black Armor edition, and CE edition of DS II all preordered. Waiting for an unboxing to help me decide if the CE is worth it.

I want to pick up the Dark Souls 2 guide but I just haven't been able to bring myself to do so.

I ordered DS's and was pissed when they updated it and it all was useless anyway because I had only used it for weapon stats and crafting.

Someone give me more reason to buy it haha

I remember being disappointed in the Dark Souls guide both because of the paper quality and the outdated info. I think there was a launch week update that made the poisonous frogs info in the guide irrelevant and it took me awhile to realize what was wrong.

Add me to the list of people surprised at what the guide is selling for. I remember buying an extra at Gamestop for $5 or so simply because I'm a huge fan of the series and it was only $5.

It'll have maps and cool artwork. Plus you can use it to level a seriously unbalanced table when you're done.
The artwork sucked in the first one. Plus even Udon's Dark Souls Design Works kind of was a disappointment too.

I feel like I will end up getting the guide just to simply have it .. as if my bookshelves even have the space : p

They are useful until the first patch hits. Its useless for those that don't plan on playing right away. Besides, it completes the collection for me. Anyway, I am happy that first print/CEs are getting a metal case. My Artorias steelbook needs the related company. :)

In all fairness, Udon merely translated the original Japanese Dark Souls Design Works.

Hah right I meant no disrespect to Udon, just that the book itself was disappointing regardless.

As an animator I have spent just as much time playing the game as I have just staring at the environments and the monster movement.

So getting the art book I was extremely excited for some great concept sketches and to really see them play out the ideas and some animatic type work of movement tests... But there is like none of that in there.

Either way I have been hovering over the buy button for the CE Guide still... Doesnt help that I am sitting here in the office bored and buying it will distract me at least for a few moments haha

May I do the same if this ultimately ends up the same to me? I've been in the same situation as Vigilante since last week.
Yes, anybody who needs to update the credit card info on their Digital River order can PM me and I'll pass the number along.

I would just post it here but I don't want her to get harassed by the legions of angry CAGs just calling up to complain about how Digital River sucks. (Which I agree, it does, but yelling at the one person I've found who can actually help with the credit card issue won't solve anything.)

Maybe I missed it but is the Drakengard CE OOS already? Not able to add it currently :(

Edit: It shows the pre-order button but says unavailable when I try to add it to my cart

Sell the DS guide to buy the DS2 guide. The cheapest one on Amazon is $70.

Looks to be OOS; glad I got my order in.
Wouldn't let you add it either? I pre-ordered both Lightning Returns and X/X-2 and thought for sure I had already pre-ordered Drakengard 3 but I'm not seeing my email anywhere. Looks like something may have went wrong when I submitted the pre-order and now I'm SOL :(

Will be highly disappointed if I miss out on it. If anyone pre-ordered an extra to get free shipping and would like to sell a pre-order for it please shoot me a PM.

Looks to be OOS. I bet they just haven't updated the spalsh page.
Thanks for checking. Was hoping it was just an issue on my end but I've tried on multiple devices with multiple browsers now so looks like it is OOS.

BTW, my Tales of Symphonia shipped from Namco and Amazon shows 27th for me.

Holy sh!t....I never understand how the prices for these things can go so high.

I actually had a few of these since they were dirt cheap originally at Gamestop, I gave them away though and just have my personal copy now.

I have no real use for it anymore especially since the patch like I said... Do people actualy buy them for that high though?

Amazon refuses to update my Tales ship date. I fear that it may get cancelled. I don't know if changing the shipping speed puts you in back of the queue but I changed it a couple of times trying to see if the delivery date would update and it never did. I don't think I will try changing the shipping speed again.

A sealed one is going for $77 on ebay.

I'm in the same boat. I changed it to one-day and I'm keeping it that way now. I thought I read that the 3000 extra printed were to fulfill existing pre-orders, so hopefully we don't get canceled.

I noticed in the Tales unboxing from earlier that the number on the box is 17,xxx/18,000. Originally, they announced 15,000 copies were getting made right? Then, they said they were making an extra 3,000. This led most of us to believe that they would re-open preorders. However, based on the fact that this person's copy # is over 15000, can we finally conclude that those extra 3000 were probably made to fulfill extra orders?

I really hope that I, as well as others here, can get our hands on a copy.

I thought the case in the DS2 CE/Black Armor Edition is a metal case and not a steelbook. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Also looking forward to Thief next week, kind of glad that there isn't a CE for it, my wallet needs a break.

Does anyone know if they're going to have a collectors edition players guide for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster? All I can find is a normal paperback one on Amazon and just want to double check

Do you guys think the Tales of Symphonia CE is worth it? Since I missed the pre-orders, the best someone could offer me to get it was at $140 and don't know if I should budge for it at that price even though it's better than Ebays prices

thats something you gotta judge for yourself if you think the extras are worth it. Me personally no matter how much i like something or want it, i would rarely ever pay a dime over msrp. It is a cool set though, imo.

From everything I've seen, no, which REALLY sucks. I can't figure out why they're letting Brady handle that one when Prima did the KH HD guide - unless it's some kind of licensing hold-over from the original FFX guide?

Oh poo!

That sucks, guess I'll keep my preorder of the Brady one....I was really looking forward to a pretty collectors one to go alongside my fancy CE edition 😔

Tales shipped from Namco today. Will be here on 25th.
I haven't received a notice on mine yet. Wondering if my order got moved to the bottom of the queue when I changed my credit card number? Or maybe they just screwed up and I'm not getting it. Time shall tell.

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered it when quoted on fb that they went through 4500 on the first day.

Still don't know if thats legitimate, but I wouldnt be surprised if they somehow canceled mine in the end since that was over a week past the order date going up.

I'm gonna say that number is irrelevant. I would almost count on Amazon having at least a small number more available on release day or one to three days afterwards just from cancellations. They probably won't last very long though. Good luck!
