(Collector's Editions are just that. They should be flawless in condition and it doesn't matter if it's just the outer box that is damaged, the outer box is still part of the collectors aspect)

So we're still blaming retailers for damaged CE's and not the publisher/manufacturer for making them flimsy?

The ones with sturdier packaging, like ff lightening returns for example, don't have these problems.

I love it when people like the poster on the last page (I sort by 100 posts) said his was trashed and it had a single soft/created corner.

Yeah, that is rather odd. It's easier to return to Amazon. Print label, ship back. Easy and they deserve to pay for all that shipping for damaging their shit to begin with.

I agree. They pay for returns. Free for you. My BD CE has a slight corner ding. Nothing major. Overall I'm content. Mine was shipped in the same manner, with the larger-book-folded-cardboard-makeshift-box thing from Amazon.
 
Oh yeah, the FF13 Lightning Returns CE was another really good one, art book was excellent. The watch could've been a bit nicer though. Hope the FFXV will be that good or better.

 
My Bravely Second got delivered today from Amazon...I'm afraid to see what it looks like when I get home. Went ahead and picked up DS3 CE but now I have an extra copy to try to sell or trade in.

People seem to think its impossible for CEs to have gotten to distribution centers and stores already damaged. They aren't getting any more so they pretty much have no choice but to ship them anyway and deal with whatever percent of people who care to complain.

It's both. No need to have to pick one or the other. Companies could make their products sturdier and retailers could ship them better. If you sold a CE on eBay, because you didn't want the buyer to file a SNAD, you wouldn't cram it into a bubble mailer, would you? Then neither should the retailer. Everyone has some of the blame.

I actually had a Lightning Returns CE that arrived damaged. It was in a box with no packing material and slid around.

That said, these things could arrive at the retailer warehouses damaged also. There's just no way of knowing how/when they actually were damaged. It's almost impossible to ensure "pristine condition." When you transport something, there is always chance for damage.

So I forgot I ordered a pair of Bravely Seconds from BB with shipping and they came in today. Box was just too small for them to put it in flat so they were in there diagonally >.<

My buddy may not want a dented up one so that'll be a fun convo. I shot gun pre-order stuff and forgot I had a copy ordered at Amazon so hopefully that one comes in okay and I can return the spare to BB.

I HATE getting CEs in the mail.

 
Evidently, I ordered Bravely Default from both Amazon and Best Buy. BB in box, Amazon in cardboard wraparound. Both came in excellent condition. Got lucky this time. Only need one, so will be returning one unless someone who missed out or got a beat up copy wants it. Sold.

I got my Bravely Second CE's and they were just like the 1st one, damaged from every source. I ordered from different retailers because I learned my lesson from the first one, but alas evidently they didn't. If they aren't going to use better/sturdier boxes, then the shippers should at least make sure the damned things are secure. 

 
Bravely Second CE arrived from Best Buy. They packaged it much better this time (in a box not an envelope). This thing is MUCHHH bigger than the Bravely Default CE, I was a bit surprised.

My Bravely Second CE status finally changed to "Shipping Now" on Amazon. Really hoping I'll still get it this weekend since I'm a little jealous that everyone else is getting theirs  ;)

 
Bravely Second: Love the game, but this CE is pretty meh... :cry: I am a bit disappoint. The arts nice and all, but I dunno bout worth $30, $20 if you value the cd at $10

 
My Bravely Second CE arrived with a small ding to it even though it was in a box.

The box was pretty crushed, so I guess I was lucky to get away with just a small ding at least, but still a bit salty. T___T

 
Got mine from Best Buy as well in a sturdy box, no damages to this one like my Bravely Default one came all dented and ripped, very happy this go around.

 
Well I got first dibs at my local Gamestop.  They had about 8 copies and pretty much all of them where dented somewhere on the box.  I'm guessing the warehouse boxes didn't protect it much.

Compared to Bravely Default, this CE is almost like brick except for the corners which seem pretty weak.

 
A little surprised people were surprised about the size. It came with the censored version of the Bravely Second artbook, which is standard sized ~A4ish.

 
Went to pick up preordered Bravely Second: CE. Got there, picked my game... it was a standard edition, with my clearly printed "Collectors Edition" tag put on it. Whoops. Either a screw up or somone in inventory said "MINE!" (Mine was the only one ordered to the store). Call corporate, they contacted the store, secured one somewhere, and are sending another to be held for me next Wednesday. Yeah... we'll see.

 
Got 2 orders in from amazon, forgot to cancel.  They were gift card orders so no loss to me.  Came in the boxes that they usually use for shipping books.  Almost perfect condition.

I haven't even checked the reviews because I've been busy with DS3 and Estival Versus dlc. If this one is as bad as Bravely Defualt then I might trade the game in later down the line. Default's middle portion was so bad, I sold my collector's edition lol.
 
Got mine in. Amazon came in the book sleeve. It looked good, with the corners a bit roughed up but otherwise it was fine. Best buy came in a greatly padded box and was impeccable.

Anyone know if somewhere there was an announcement of a solid release date for Gal Gun Double Peace here in the States? Or is it still up in the air? I placed an order for the CE.

Also, is the physical edition limited to only be released on rice digital? It doesn't show up to pre-order at all on amazon, gamestop, ect.

 
Holy shit, this Bravely Second Design Works book totally made buying the LE worth it. I knew it was gonna be a bigger artbook, but I didn't expect it to be the equivalent of a full fledged retail book.

 
Due to an issue with the first order for Bravely 2nd CE I placed a second, without canceling the first so I could keep the better of the two from BB and one arrived in a bubble mailer and the other in a box. So no consistancy from BB. Even the boxed one had a dinged corner, but the bubble mailer one is going back.

I was surprised though, didn't expect it to be so big.

Has anyone gotten the costume code from BB btw? I know they can be slow with it sometimes.

Did they charge you an arm and a leg for shipping on them? I paid almost $20 for shipping when I ordered 2 sets of plates from Amazon Japan. It was worse than AmiAmi.

It was about $11 for four cover plates. The shipping factors in customs I think because I'd add a ¥500 Hori New 3DS Screen protector and shipping would jump by $5 each.
 
I was looking at play asia selling the CE of DOA XV3. It's $130 but the shipping is insane. It's $50 for slow shipping, $60 for express. I'm like F-it
