If you don't have a code in 48 hours on Bravely Second, follow the instructions at forums.bestbuy.com. You should have a code within just a few hours. You'll need to sign up for an account if you don't have one already as it requires PMing a mod.
Thanks so much for this advice, messaged them and they got back to me within the hour with a code! :D

Opened up my BS CE copy from Best Buy, was packaged well enough though one corner was badly crushed and it was pre-shipment not during shipment.

Off to BB that goes again.

 
Bravely Second preorder from Amazon came with a crushed corner, but managed to get $10 back because of it. Later I found out that the Amazon Collector Editions didn't get the preorder bonus the Standard versions had. Had to go through 5 reps (3 chat, 2 email) to figure that out (just asking a question on if it was offered on the CE) - but the last rep offered me a free Standard version of the game as an "exception" for it not being offered. Didn't have any use for the standard edition since I already have the CE and it wouldn't include the preorder code anyways so I wanted to see if I could either get a refund or credit for the price of the Standard edition that was offered - rep ended up just refunding the rest on the CE (~$47). Ended up getting the Collector's Edition for free because it didn't include the costume dlc that I can get in-game anyways. Honestly just wanted to see if I could get the DLC, but since they offered.

Wow the CE didn't offer it? I was trying to find a previous version of the page but no luck. I've gotten $15+tax back so far but my complaint was forwarded to the marketing and promotions team and I should get an answer in 1 business day.

 
It was listed on the collectors edition page (edit sorry cached page was for Amazon CA) so don't take their word. They had it listed under the promotions section.

No it's not purely based on how much you return. It's also the amount of times you contact them. Also no rep can tell you if it's in good standing. Just sayin.

 
Exactly right. Asking a CS rep the status of your account is pointless.
There's no scale that they can see, but they can at least check some of the factors that go into issued bans (# of times contacted, amount refunded, number of items returned, etc.). Either way, I have 338 orders made on my account, returned maybe 5 of those - each with a value of around $20 or less. Either way, I never requested the extra game - that's what they offered after finding out the preorder code didn't come with the CE.

 
My two Bravely Second CEs from Amazon actually came in perfect condition despite being in a box with some empty spaces and no padding whatsoever. Thank god cause I would feel like an ass complaining to them had it came all messed up since I got them for $45 each due to the double 20% off glitch.

... That is how it goes though. I just asked for a code and they say I'll send a message to our marketing promotion and refund you $15 for the inconvenience. I have never asked for any compensation for any item I've had an issue with. They love to just throw refunds at you.

The number of times you contact CS has no bearing on your standing with them whatsoever. None. It depends on what you contact them for. If you contact Amazon CS 10 times in a week and ask them stuff like "Do you know when this item will be in stock?" That doesn't have anything to do with any account standing.

However, if you contact them 10 times asking for refunds, credits, and free shit... yeah, of course.

This is seriously silly. I contact Amazon, first guy transfers me to second guy, second guy says nothing for 5 minutes then transfers me to 3rd guy, 3rd guy apologizes for all the transfers then transfers me back to second guy, now second guy is doing the same shit again.

Transferred to a 4th guy now....who then transferred me to a 5th guy, who was the fucking 2nd guy again who instantly transfers me to 6th guy. Onto 7th guy now, instantly sends me back to the 2nd guy who is doing the same shit again.

What did I do to deserve this hell. I feel like I should post this transcript for shits and giggles when its over

Speaking from experience, that's not always the case at all. Sure, some people want free handouts, but the majority of these situations are freely given by the reps without even much prying by the consumer. They're trained to do that.

I once bought a TV from them that arrived broken, in trying to do an exchange for a different model (the one I bought was sold out), I wound up with a free TV. This was due in part to AMZ's screw up, over-eager reps, and it being an out of the norm situation.

I tried to rectify their mistake by sending multiple emails and speaking to a few different reps, but was eventually told not to worry about it. It's just the way their CS department works.

The number of times you contact CS has no bearing on your standing with them whatsoever. None. It depends on what you contact them for. If you contact Amazon CS 10 times in a week and ask them stuff like "Do you know when this item will be in stock?" That doesn't have anything to do with any account standing.

However, if you contact them 10 times asking for refunds, credits, and free shit... yeah, of course.

Try this:

1) Go to Help, Need More Help, Contact Us.

2) Pick the order in question with Bravely Second.

3) Select an issue - Promotions And Deals.

4) Select issue details - Other promotion questions.

5) Select additional details - Did not receive claim code.

6) Explain in the details that you didn't receive your pre-order promotional DLC and that this issue needs to be sent to the Marketing Department to have the promo DLC provided to you, since it has been more than two days since the order has shipped out (assuming it's shipped out already).

That usually works best for me to resolve the issue, since it should go directly to the Marketing Department with that issue selection options, as should mentioning it in the body of the email. Chat is usually useless in this case for me, as usually is phone, unless you call during the weekday in the first-shift window for support.

The trick I've found that works best is to mention pre-order promotional item/code and Marketing Dept in the same request, which has worked for me in the past. Good luck, regardless.

Have any of you had any luck with best buy in either getting a replacement or a credit back?  My copy came in a friggin bubble mailer and it looks like the box was sandwiched to death.

 
fwiw all the bravely second costumes are available to buy in game, the preorder DLC just gives it to you early in the game and they each cost 1m rupees (or w/e) in normal mode, but i dunno how hard it is to grind money at the end

I didn't receive mine automatically, but using the PM link on the BB forums got the codes in about 20 minutes.

 
Will Amazon get the Deus Ex Mankind Divided CE for pc? So far I've only seen it listed at the SE store and I really don't want to get it from there considering I have a discount from Prime and SE has ridiculous shipping charges.

Amazon won't ban your account for contacting customer service too much....that's nonsense intended to needlessly scare people. They will ban you for too many returns.

What is too many returns? Amount or value of them? I returned quite a few black friday movies to them because of fuckin mailers and loose discs. Do they take into the account your spending vs returning or amount or returns per year tracking?
