Sorry, but I am no longer going to be posting the latest updates here due to me not working with the company any longer and having a difficult time getting regular updates.

FAQs:

What if the price isn't accurate in store? Ans: Ask them to scan the title anyway and/or check the master game sales list online as my prices ARE accurate.

What if the in store game has no for sale sticker? Ans: Sorry chances are it isn't for sale, we usually leave a few for rent..but doesn't hurt to ask an employee Just in Case.

Why doesn't the online price reflect your price? Ans: Although it's one company and prices *usually* match..there are times when they don't or might be sold out. Sorry

Do games come with manuals/box? Ans: All games come with original artwork/case, but sometimes rental customers don't return manuals, so it's about 50/50.

What if I buy a game that doesn't work? Ans: All games are guaranteed to be in working condition. We clean all games before selling them. You can even replace games in the store that were purchased online! People have told me that the e-commerce site is very helpful also with returns/replacements.

What if my store is not offering the specials listed, is this YMMV? Ans: No this is not YMMV. Unless the store is down to it's last few copies of a game, it should be for sale. What do the numbers next to the titles mean? The numbers represent how many copies of an item a B&M store will protect for rental only. For example, if you see 4 copies on the shelf for rent and my listing has a (3) beside it, 1 should be for sale.
Listings with a (5*) means that there will be at least 5 kept for rent, but if the title is renting well the remaining copies may or may not be for sale, ask staff for assistance.

well i doubt they offer it up to them...but as the company doesn't require us to protect it for any reason it may end up being:

1.thrown away
2.left out on the shelf
3.taken personally
4.sold on ebay
5.ignored
6.saved for sales
7.fed to rabbits for food
8.etc...

it really is just open to how your store handles them...personally I leave them in the box unless it's something useful personally like rock band dlc from a track pack..because honestly unless they instituted a special place to keep things like that it would just get accidently thrown away..so best place to keep it is in the case and hope a scrounging customer doesn't sneak it away...sorry I can't give you a better answer, the only thing we were told to keep was the online codes for games like UFC...future EA sports titles..and even then they changed their stance on that the other day :whistle2:?
 
Yay, had to drive about 20 mins and an extra 15 in traffic, but I got a copy for $30 (in Mundelein, IL)! The girl who helped me was apparantly the one who I talked to on the phone and remembered me (despite me arriving about 3 hours after the phone call) and was very kind to me, understanding that I don't normally shop at Family Video. I had some great customer service, which is rare these days.

Thanks XT14 for offering some help, but I didn't even need it.
 
Mostly from what I've been reading, FV's got a lot of positive energy going for it...definitely looking forward to putting this on my list of recommendations to my community ^^b

Also think I'm going to include Transformers Revenge of the Fallen in my order once WFC comes up, 8 dollars is incredible D:

Just my 2 cents (not trying to be an ass), but I bought that game at Target on clearance for $13, and i honestly felt it was the worst money ever spent.

The background/story is interesting, but the mechanics of the game are so clumsy, it makes for a very frustrating and slow experience. Again, just my 2 cents.
 
Love Family Video. Stopped at one different than my usual and managed to pick up Xenosaga III, Yakuza, and Wild Arms 5 for $18. Unfortunately they didn't come with manuals but the cases and discs were good. Wish they were selling some of their other PS2 games.

I was kind of hoping to get Alan wake for $20 like I did with BF but no luck. :cry:
 
You can always try asking the store manager about the ps2 games. I've bought several that weren't on sale because the ps2 is dead technology and the manager was more then happy to clear it off the shelves. However don't go in there asking if you can buy ico or marvel vs capcom or something like that for $5 because thats where the manager is going to start ignoring you because they think your a joke.
 
Yeah, I didn't think about that. Start haggling with the manager haha. Would be fun to get some pricier titles for $5. :D But I doubt it.

I did stop by another and they were selling a ton of PS2 games too. Guess they're clearing out a lot of their stock. Picked up Atelier Iris 2, Suikoden Tactics, Rogue Galaxy, DQ:VIII, Odin Sphere, and Megaman X8 for $6 each and half had manuals.
 
After one of my XBL friends picked it up and called it a "must buy", I decided to jump on Transformers: War for Cybertron at 29.99. Planned on waiting til it dropped further, but they only had 3 copies when I got there. Didn't want to risk missing out!
 
Just realized there was a Family Video within walking distance of our new apartment. Finally, a new place to check since I lost the Sears I used to live next to in PA.
 
Nothin for this week guys. Only thing that I noticed was that all the stores in ohio and pa are starting to price a lot more old ps2 games for 4.95 but that is very ymmv so don't expect to find it at every store.
 
yah, officially nothing new...not sure about the ps2 game thing yet, but will update when I get back to my store if there is an official announcement or not...but will of course hopefully be back with an update next week...hopefully we don't fall into another dead period...they are still working on opening new stores so they are sending a lot of our extra copies of games/movies to those...but at any rate...Id think we'll still have sales next week...cya then!
 
paid $40 for singularity when it came out--really liked the creepiness of the the first few hours--and it really is a fun game

you can pick it up for $30 and trade in into best buy for $25 they give you a month to trade it in more than enough time to pass it-

or you can trade in to toys r us for $25 but you only get 10 days to trade in-so if your down to knock it out in a week or so and prefer a toys r us gc.
 
i picked up Yakuza 1 for PS2 for only $4.95 last night...they still have a bunch of PS2 games that I want that aren't for sale yet.
 
sorta....just one this week, oddly enough it's for the wii, super mario galaxy 2 so for all of you who didn't get the deals when it first came out, its 10 dollars cheaper than amazon....dunno about elsewhere...anyway hope theres a few these helps out! enjoy til next week!

Wouldn't count on it. The stores aren't going to order those because people who rent the game are renting it as BFBC2 not any of the other stuff that comes with the ultimate edition. When it does drop in price it will simply be because the game doesn't rent well anymore and if I had to gamble I would say around when the new cod comes out. Also if anyone is wondering there won't be any updates until tomorrow at the earliest with it being a holiday and all.
 
I forgot to post my results from when I went...I think.

Either way: Had to ask at the counter about the deals, the lady was very nice and checked into the listings for prices and after a brief walk to the cases, I walked out with both Transformers titles for around 40 (Revenge of the Fallen was slightly more, was perfectly fine with it) and they refurbed the discs for free as well.

Got home, both worked perfectly, still do to this day.

Great show, I recommend FV to my friends irl now, thanks XT :D
 
And after stopping in since picking up Saboteur about 2 months or so ago, it looks like almost all the games they had for sale have either been converted to rentals or sold and replaced with rentals. Out of all of the games there, there was maybe 10 or so cases with sale price stickers on it. Disappointing. I'll keep stopping in there when I see the OP updated with things I want though.
 
The only update this week guys was UFC 2010 for 29.95 hopefully next week will be a better week. If a mod could put that in the op since he is on vacation I am sure he would appreciate it.
 
Well, I think I would buy it at that price, except like I said a couple posts up, they seem to not be selling any games at mine anymore. I just called and asked if they had the game for sale and he immediatly replied that they don't.
 
Ask them to check and see if any of the surrounding stores have any that they could get there for you. If they say theres no way for them to check that let me know what store it is that your calling and I'll sort it out and get back to you on it.
 
I could PM you the store if you wanted. I called and the girl I started talking to was clueless and handed the phone off. The new guy on the phone said that the person I spoke to earlier was the manager, and that due to new stores that will be opening in the area soon, they shipped off their selection of for sale games to the other stores. He offered to call the other store within an hour's driving distance and ask if they had it, but I told him I didn't have a problem calling. He then said if I wanted, he could order it from the warehouse and have it shipped to me, but I figured I'd call the other store first. I don't know if it would be the store placing an order for it or if it would be just like buying it from the website. I know it takes a while for the price to drop online though, it hasn't yet. And I don't know what shipping is.

He was very polite and helpful though. So now I've solved the case of the missing games for sale.

Edit: And the Columbia store doesn't have any. So I guess I'll check out the website when the prices change. I would so much rather just go into a store and get it than mess around with ordering it though. Oh well, thanks for the offer to look into it.

Edit2: I guess shipping is only $1.99? I can live with that, even if I have to wait for it to get here. Hate buying stuff online. Now let's hope the price drops by tomorrow.
 
Just got an email with a coupon code for 10% off. Coupon says it's good for one use only and (also lists my email address) through Sept 10. Check your inboxes!
 
Well, the price updated online, dropped from 59.99 or whatever. But now it is 38.99. What gives? I know it takes a day or two to update, but I thought the price online and instore was supposed to be the same? $29.99 is a bit too much for me, but I was planning on buying it at that price anyway. I guess I'll wait if I can't get it in-store or have to pay more online.
 
I tried placing a $50+ order for used video games at around 9PM Sunday and it said the $5 off coupon "Fall5Off" was already expired :\

Was this a EST/PST kind of thing?

I think they do everything on est so that was probably the problem you ran into.

As for updates theres nothing this week but I'll post again next week if xt14 is still on vacation.
 
yah nothin this week guys, thanks for the help out there ^^^ my study abroad will be over this coming sunday...but wow, if anyone ever has the chance...travel to china...it's nothing like I expected, and the nightlife is epic...part of the reason I've had trouble posting on time, i've been way too busy here, but i'll have regular updates from now on...thanks for checkin anyway!

While theres no "updates" this week, there was a note for ALL STORES to start stickering games like they should have been doing to eliminate any future issues of stores not stickering stuff because their lazy or don't feel like it.
 
yep...thanks again for updating if I was a little late. Just to repeat the above words...if you haven't stopped in to look for some titles, now is the time to do so as stores "should" have everything current
