FAQs:

What if the price isn't accurate in store? Ans: Ask them to scan the title anyway and/or check the master game sales list online as my prices ARE accurate.

What if the in store game has no for sale sticker? Ans: Sorry chances are it isn't for sale, we usually leave a few for rent..but doesn't hurt to ask an employee Just in Case.

Why doesn't the online price reflect your price? Ans: Although it's one company and prices *usually* match..there are times when they don't or might be sold out. Sorry

Do games come with manuals/box? Ans: All games come with original artwork/case, but sometimes rental customers don't return manuals, so it's about 50/50.

What if I buy a game that doesn't work? Ans: All games are guaranteed to be in working condition. We clean all games before selling them. You can even replace games in the store that were purchased online! People have told me that the e-commerce site is very helpful also with returns/replacements.

What if my store is not offering the specials listed, is this YMMV? Ans: No this is not YMMV. Unless the store is down to it's last few copies of a game, it should be for sale. If they will not sell it to you for the price listed and/or you have continued problems with a store please check this link to help you out and help our company to improve. https://www.familyvideo.com/contact.php#q17

What do the numbers next to the titles mean? The numbers represent how many copies of an item a B&M store will protect for rental only. For example, if you see 4 copies on the shelf for rent and my listing has a (3) beside it, 1 should be for sale.
Listings with a (5*) means that there will be at least 5 kept for rent, but if the title is renting well the remaining copies may or may not be for sale, ask staff for assistance.
Well duke has hit 10. The thing is that I don't think its worth 10 used anymore
Well, I bought it for $5 from OnLive and I feel that it's probably worth $10 new. Used, maybe, maybe not.

And boy did the price of that new Call Of Juarez game drop like a rock. So, what's wrong with it?

Its fucking terrible
prices live online for this week. Sweet.
I contacted them a couple times about that, so hoping that the message got through and it wasn't just coincidence this time! sorry again for things being so inconsistant lately, let's hope everything gets back in order now!
Tempted by Green Lantern at $10. Anyone have an opinion on it?
its a fun game, for $10 worth it, you will enjoy it more if you have a buddy to play with

Thanks, I grabbed it. I'm hoping this is couch co-op, because I can't see any of my friends spending money on their own copy

I bought green lantern for $30 new months ago i think amazon? I heard it is a really fun super hero game. I know most friends that had it on xbox live played a lot of it when they first got it. I wish i waited for $10 used i only opened it to use the 3d glasses on batman AC.
bought cartel heard it is so bad but for $12 something shipped with tax is backlog price.
Sadly, it ain't even worth it at that price, and I rarely say that about any game. Maybe if you're looking for easy achievements.

I was waiting for Green Lantern to hit the $10! I'm so in. Debating on Call of Juarez.

EDIT: Actually, Call of Juarez is worth 1,000 points on Goozex so I can play it and easily flip it there. Boom.

I think goozex is going to die a slow death sadly

I think you are right. It took over 2 months to get an older game (Sherlock Holmes vs Jack The Ripper). Also it seems like games retain higher point values for far to long.

I got Green Lantern for $10 yesterday as well, it's a pretty cool game. I'm a big GL fan though so I might be biased ahah but it's well worth $10.

sorry, nothing new this week...i'm sure with all the AAA titles coming out recently though everyone is okay with a little break from most stores...especially with black friday coming up soon...so hopefully FamVid will be up on that also...see ya next week

I got Green Lantern also. Pretty good game for $10. Great game to play coop with my nephew whom could care less about achievements. Mine came with the 3d glasses sealed and a coupon for 6flags that expired oct2, but no manual. Also got Transformers ROTF. Kinda disappointed with the condition of that one. Came in an old black playstation case with no manual and is a bit scratched up.

if you are upset with the condition of the second game, make sure to contact the ecommerce site...the games are sent out by stores...who sometimes forget that they must ship out a scratch free disc with original box and box-art. They will take care of it for you.

Just snagged a copy of Socom 4 for $10 i played the beta it was alright meh worth 10$ installing massive updates now.... (ugh ps3 system and game updates are so annoyingly large and do nearly nothing.
All stores carry games. Whether they have the specific game you are wanting, you would be best to call to see if its for sale used.
Honestly, mine has so few games for sale I don't even bother looking any more. I love Family Video, though, it's the only video store my town has left, because they freakin' dominated Hollywood, Blockbuster and Movie Gallery.

yah, they didn't do much for black friday. Sorry there was no update last week, but in fact there was nothing new to report, so it slipped my mind. This week there is only one update and it is B&M only. For those who are still looking for some PS2 games (perhaps for the random rare JRPG or for kids) all the .99 cent rentals are now going to be selling for $2.95 which is a drop from $4.95. If you are in store anyway might be a good chance to check things out, but I wouldn't hold my breath on finding anything too crazy....doesn't hurt to try though right?
So do I just take one of them up and say "I'd like to buy this."?
if it has a sticker that states it's for sale yes. In the case of PS2 games I mentioned about...any 99 cent game should have a 2.95 for sale sticker on it, if it doesnt you could still ask them to sell it though...similar for other games...if there is no sale sticker...read my FAQs so you will have an idea of how many of that particular title "should" be for sale in case the store is having problems pricing things correctly

Hey, just a little tip, guys. If you see games that are marked R1G1 and have more than one copy out, but AREN'T marked as being for sale, just take them up to the counter and ask. Managed to snag SSFIV and Nier for $10 each today that way. It's actually a bit odd, since my store didn't have multiple copies of either one the last time I was there, but they did this time. Very weird.

alright, B&M prices are active now, some decent updates today I think. Hopefully online will match and will cross my fingers for more next week also

lets hope this trend keeps up ^^^ and thanks everyone for having the thread reach 200,000 views...not much compared to others I know...but still cool for me (^_^)

My Family Video store has been boxing up copies of games on the "list" for coporate before anyone can buy them. Seems like fewer and fewer are actually for sale in store. However, if a store has enough copies and you know it is a title on the list - ask them if they will sell it. It has worked for me. I just called my local FV and they are holding a copy of Red Faction: Armageddon for me.

The one near me always has the games out for sale. Got socom 4 there and also saw lego pirates recently. Debating picking up killzone 3 and returning my mayhem move sharpshooter bundle...still undecided on that.

Homefront is $10 for the Xbox, but there is no listing for the PS3. Is it $10 also?

My store has three copies on PS3 but there are no tags on any of them. I thought I saw it listed earlier this year for $29.99.

alright, to answer some questions above:
1. Sometimes when opening a new store corporate asks some stores to box up some games to send to help supply those stores...it's weird if they are doing it weekly that doesn't seem correct, but I'm glad they are holding the game for you anyway.

2. You should only return your Mayham bundle if you didn't buy it at best buy or the recent $99 drop it had, and then head over to best buy and pick it up...I wish I was in the states and could pick that up myself..that's a steal!

3. If your family video is telling you it's 29.95 they are wrong...you can walk into the store and tell them to check out their latest price drops and it will clearly show that it is 9.95 now. If they are unwilling to do that...you could ask to speak with their manager or something and mention another company employee told you it to be true. I hope you don't have to go through the trouble, but if so....better than making the trip for nothing.

4. I believe homefront was one of the titles that the company has pronounced as "sold out". When this happens I remove it from the list and they ask all stores to remove the sale stickers from the cases. This is when the national inventory is getting low. They like to keep a few extra in case of new stores opening or damaged products.

5. Don't worry about the condition...as you will see from previous people that post. The games always come shiny and without problems. From the few that have had problems...the e-commerce site takes care of you quickly and will send you out a replacement and not force you to pay return shipping on the other disc. Another option is if you have a local store you can exchange the product out there.

Killzone 3 for $10?! I had this a while ago, but sold it. I've regretted getting rid of it ever since. I'm down with $10.
