I never needed weapons for the main game at all when you could just spam Ultima a bajillion times, do a guaranteed 9999 damage, and win every battle easily.
The final battle went something like this - Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Heal, Ultima, Ultima, Ultima, Ultima.

When you have 12 people, heal is unnecessary.

up until last year, I've beaten ffIII (VI) at least once a year since 1994.
still haven't bought it for gba yet
edit: hero ring also works wonders. what weapons have you got for Shadow? the Stunner is the best thing, because during colloseum it tends to cast stop a lot.

Or for Shadow, the one that stops and one that kills.
And don't ask anyone to name Shadow's weapons, they're all Japanese names in the GBA version. Looks like Stunner = Kagenui.

Colosseum trick worked nicely so far, until Shadow randomly decided to do the following -
Arise (he was still alive)
Sleep
Shell
Teleport
This is all with just one more hit needed to kill the T-Rex.
And he won't throw his Fuma Shurikens.
This AI is shitty.

Oh crap! I just checked the bestiary
Another concern: I feel like I'm going to break my DS control pad with Sabin on my team. I have to press pretty hard to register my commands. Are the control pads pretty hardy and reliable over the years?
and I'm missing #27 - Vector Hound! I went on Gamefaqs and realized that he was supposed to be fought in S. Figaro with Locke but I was in a hurry. Will I get another chance to fight Vector Hound in Vector HQ later in the game?
