Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!
I can only hope that they don't accept his receipt for postage he purchased as proof of him sending it.
Paypal won't accept receipts as proof of shipment, so I would hope that Goozex would not either. I'm not exactly sure where they stand on that, though.

This is why people should go the extra mile and buy the delivery confirmation!
i dont see where people say BUYING Postage off paypal is cheaper.... Yes its 18 cents for DC but your using your INK what will cost you in the long run (unless your using your work/school printer) BUT if your using your own printer it will cost more in the long run i would think

This is why i like goozex in a way

Quit being a dumbass.

People have what they call a "Laser Printer"... it's like $50 bucks, and prints full pages of TONER for like .01 or .02.

With a big bottle of toner off of ebay for $3 bucks, you can print 30,000 pages.. just pay for paper. Go to Office Depot and get their paper for a .25 when they have a sale/rebate.

You're printing a whole shipping label instead of waiting in line that saves time. It's utimately cheaper to do it yourself.

Quit being a dumbass.

Yeah, I use the laser printer at work, but yeah. You can buy a laser printer and the savings over the long term of printing cheaper labels would pay for your printer after a while (free laser printer and convenience!)

That guy sounds like a tool. Why is he making fun of you for the game you wanted, when it's COMING FROM HIM? He had to have bought it himself too, right, unless he stole it.

So, the post man put the key to unlock the package box in someone else's mailbox. So I'm lucky that I didn't get the package swiped. So I got the package. I explain this to him and close the dispute and he says, "So, that guy isn't a tool huh?" or something to that effect. So he's a CAG (or got paranoid and searched for my user name to see if I was talking about him, but I somehow doubt that hypothesis) since it certaintly seems like he's referencing the above post.

Even if you got the game, the guy's still a tool. Like I said, why would you make fun of someone for buying a game from you? I'd love to know who it is...probably some lurker.

Wow, that's awesome! I didn't think anyone would trade that on Goozex for 1200 space bucks, but I see there have been four since April.

Yea I don't know why anyone would. Although the seller seems a little sketchy. He accepted the trade and within 20min confirmed it was shipped (I assume to get the points right away). He entered in just a "." as the tracking number.

After looking into his profile, he's only been a member since April 17th, has sent out 6 games that aren't worth too many points, and has received 48.

He must just have purchased a lot of points, but he could also be just accepting trades and leaving it in limbo for the time out period and spending the points before he get's in trouble with it. That's the pessimist in me talking though.

too bad it was Handhelds there is around 40 games i wouldnt mind picking up if trades were free..

I got an NES game, but it won't play in my NES. Mine is weird in that it won't play games if you push it down (it also had its pins replaced). With this game, the light blinks. Sometimes when it's up, there's just a gray screen on the TV. The game itself is in great shape and even came with a jacket.

Should I leave negative feedback since it won't play? It seems unfair since it may vary between NESes.

have you sought the advice of the Goozex forums? I'm sure a few of the mods and regs there would have a much better answer, but the only thing I can think of would be give positive because you are feeling generous, or give negative because it won't work

this is one of the reasons why people never anticipated Goozex adding vintage games, and why I'm hesitant of getting NES games myself

So I'm trying to get back into Goozex after only using it twice since i signed up in 07. Got a couple questions for the vets.

How does the on hold option work?

Let's say I just got Red Dead Redemption (which I did :) ) at a retail store. Can I put it up for offer right away, but have it on hold, and when I'm done with it I'll be near the top of the list?

Also, I have a game I'd like to trade right now and it says I'd be doing an instant trade with someone for that game. Can I, as the seller, see who I'm shipping it too before I commit? I tried doing that but it said I had to commit to trading it so I backed out. I wish I had the option of seeing who i want to trade to beforehand.

And I'm guessing you need to get on exactly at midnight the day a game is released to get in the front of the line to request, right?

I'll answer your question about the holds. When you put your game on hold you are basically holding your place in line so when you take it off hold you will get right back in line. It's basically what you said. With a new release like Red Dead you'll definitely be at the top if you put it on hold now.

I've never really understood the instant trade thing but I never worry about who I send my stuff out to.

The whole release day thing is a mess. I think they put the games live at 1am (not positive) but from what I've heard the whole site crashes and it's nearly impossible to get a really good spot. I've never personally tried it.

Mistymayhem got the on hold stuff right... Last night they "released" the new games to be requested at 12:30AM CST... It really just depends on when you're on..

I got #2 for Green Day Rock Band (PS3) and #5 for Tiger Woods 11 (PS3) and #9 for MGS:peace Walker... It's just luck to be in the right place at the right time me thinks....

Hey I'm doing my first trade (first time sending a game) and I noticed it said that at the moment I can only get my points once it hits the post office if I have a certain amount of feedback; so what is this magic number??

Once your feedback score is higher than 20 you get your points as soon as you confirm shipped. You get 10 points for a perfect trade, 5 points a positive but less than perfect trade and 0 for neutral or negative trade.

Ah thank you but I don't understand the bolded part (sorry for my incompetence). You do mean Goozex points right; for a perfect trade you get 10 goozex points?? I'm so sorry if it's clear as crystal and I just didn't get it, but I've never heard of this.

No not goozex points feedback points. For every trade you complete you get feedback points from the person you sent it to. 10 for a "perfect" trade (what they wanted in great condition) 5 for a good trade (what they wanted but had some issues) 0 for neutral (some kind of problem with the game) negative points for negative feedback (varies on severity of the issue).

So basically until you send out at least 2 games (assuming you get 10 feedback points for each) then you'll start getting your points once the game/movie has been confirmed shipped.

Correction, it is -10 for neutral, -20 for negative and -250 for bootleg games.

--- edit ---
It should be feedback score not points, so it causes less confusion. :)

That's true , I forgot that they changed around the scores for neutrals and negatives a few months back. Neutrals were made -10 to make it more of an actual punishment. Bootlegs used to I think only be like -100-150 score before , not that it really matters since in many cases if the person is sending out bootlegs their account will be suspended/banned anyway.

I unfortunately found that one out first hand when someone subjected me to feedback abuse and accused me of sending him a pirated PS1 game. My trading ability was totally screwed up for a week or two while Goozex sorted things out. In the end my account was returned to good standing and the other person was banned.

Oh man, that sucks. I don't know what I would do if my account was temporarily banned like that. Especially during the ps3 month. Glad it was sorted out for you.

Ah thank you, well I pretty much got 10 points or at least I hope I DO get the 10 points; game was sent out in flawless condition :p
Again, thanks, and I'm going to start using Goozex much more I reckon. I signed up a while ago with the Gamefly promo to get 200 points and 1 trade token and I got Ninja Gaiden 2.

Yea if you sent out the games in good condition, everything that came with it originally(if that's what they requested) and packed them up decent, shouldn't be any reason not to get full 10 points.

I got an update on the PS3/June newsletter:

"Trade in any PS3 game in June, and get an extra 50 points from Goozex. Any PS3 game is eligible."

From the Goozex forums:

Starting on Monday, Goozex will be adding a bonus 50 points to every PS3 trade that are matched in June. That means if your trade was matched on June 1 - 30, an extra 50 points will go to the seller!
It's a tip from Goozex for trading during PS3 Month.
To get the 50 point tip, all matches made in June must result in a positive feedback. Any trades that have already started and finished in June will be retroactively given the tip!
Happy PS3 Month!

Wow that's really nice. By the end of the month I'm going to have a large surplus of points earned through trades rather than purchased. That may be a first. Maybe this also means my chances of winning an Amazon giftcard or being one of the top 10 trades of the month aren't so bad after all.

Already traded in 3D Dot Game Heroes (also eligible for 1st month trade bonus) and Dante's Inferno , will be trading in Split/Second next week after I finish getting the last few trophies over the weekend (also eligible for 1st month bonus). Plan to trade in Heavy Rain , Darksiders and Bioshock 2 as well before the month is over once I've beaten/gotten the rest of the trophies for them all.

Just got "game in the mail" and "shipment confirmation" e-mails within 1 minute of each other. But no confirmation/tracking number.

Hopefully, this ones goes down okay...

This just happened to me several times in the past month on 1200 point items; immediately confirmed shipped. Everytime it turned out to be a scam and someone wasting my time.

Periodically check the username of the person and see if the account gets disabled so you can file a complaint if it does. In any case though, I would send them an e-mail inquiring if they mailed it out already.

Dude says it hasn't shipped yet, but he's giving it to his dad to take to work, where he'll ship it out via FedEx. He "assured" me that I'll get the game "soon". The guy has no negative feedback, so we'll see what happens.

I feel that Goozex should start verifying tracking information after a seller has "confirmed" the shipping. Only when the tracking has been verified should a seller get his points. This immediate credit of a seller's account really has me nervous.

I fucking hate people that click "confirm shipped" immediately after the transaction goes through. Every time that has happened to me, it winds up taking me 3-4 weeks to receive the game since the seller is a lazy bastard.

It seems that recently every single time I receive a game the trader never provides a tracking number. When I first started on goozex a few years ago almost every transaction provided one. I have no idea why people don't buck up the 80 cents for DC (or even weirder to get the DC and then never provide the number). It protects both sides in the transaction.

On the immediate confirmation after accepting the trade, I'd suggest you keep checking if the user has been disabled every day. If they have you will not be informed. You have to click on their name to see if they are still active. I'd say that most of the time that has happened to me it has ended up resulting in a negative. It is good that he got back to you, but if he doesn't update with the tracking info in the next couple days I'd guess you aren't getting the game. If they stop responding to your messages or start making excuses about why they haven't shipped the game yet then I would just move forward with the negative as soon as you can so you can get back into the queue quickly. I had this happen 3 or 4 times in a row with UFC right when it came out.

So I am working on my first trade on goozex. I traded out a copy of worms Armageddon to some guy. When he received it he left me negative feedback that it wasn't the right game and is stating since there was damage to the label this game is in an unacceptable condition.

Per goozex's Faq I can trade any game that is playable, which i tested this game and it played fine. I sent the game out to him the day after the trade was active on goozex and he got it probably less than 5 days after requesting it. In our back and forth he seems unwilling to reach a resolution. My question is what happens if this reaches the end of the 7 days do I just loose the game and the points. It really feels like he is holding all the cards. He has my game and control of the points. He has also not followed goozexs own terms since he marked it that he didn't get the game he asked for when he actually did. Has this ever happened to anyone else? any suggestions on how to proceed?

edited to correct some of my lame grammar

^If you haven't done so yet, dispute the feedback. The buyer can't leave a negative when it's the correct game and it works. He's trying to screw you and goozex by getting his points back and keeping the game (which can only be done by leaving negative feedback).

Worst case is neutral feedback, though you should get at least a +5 for it. Sending that pic to goozex couldn't hurt.

How long does it usually take to go through the dispute process?

Some guy said I gave him an unplayable game and escalated it to Goozex. Goozex asked him to send the game. It's been nearly 20 days since he said he mailed it. What's taking so long.

Goozex will require the guy on the other end to send the game to them for verification. They will test it out and find out that it works fine and mail it back to him. Your negative will get overturned by Goozex and changed to a positive.

The appropriate feedback for this was a positive but "condition was not as good as I expected".
Why do they not have a sega saturn section?
I know I really need some Goozex points and I've been looking to dump my Panzer Dragoon Saga and Guardian Heroes

I second this, I would absolutely love to pick up a few more Saturn games off of Goozex, but I can just imagine the utter crap condition all of the cases I would get would be.

I'm sad to say I've lost interest in Goozex lately. None of the old school stuff I want gets listed in the condition I want.. Craigslist and ebay have been good to me, and I'm getting them for about goozex prices. If the old school section was more active (or had Saturn/etc areas) I'd be right on the mark about it, but I don't think any of that would be listed either. Kind of a shame, really..

I'm in the same boat as Jay. I dumped all my points and tokens about a month ago, picking up random games to change to cash on Ebay. There just hasn't been anything on Goozex that I want (well, that's available at least) in what seems like ages.
