Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!

Goozex sided with me on my trade, "+5 feedback is the appropriate selection here. We made the adjustment, and are finalizing the dispute. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Buyer: Please understand that falsification of feedback can lead to a disablement of your account. In the future, we recommend you select the feedback that most accurately represents the transaction to avoid complications." Hopefully I can get some good stuff out of this 1000 points.

at the same time though, maybe he was buying it strictly for collectors purposes, which is the only reason I can see spending the amount he did on it, and in which case I can see why he'd be upset. but then again, if he wanted to collect then why cartridge only? (or is it just as collectible in that state? I'm not too aware of the rare games).

in the future (and maybe you did do this, but didn't see you say anything about it) I'd recommend PMing the user the exact condition, "label is slightly torn in the upper right corner", or something along those lines. then if they agree to it you'll have no problems.

but it's good you came out on top, the guy is obv. in the wrong

Yeah it was my first trade. In the future to make things go smother I will take you advice. I wish there was a spot to upload a picture to on Goozex.

Hey guys have a question!

Right now I'm waiting for Mass Effect.

My "Position" is 26, but there are 4 "Active" requests right now. Every once in a while it gets bumped around to 5 and 6. I don't understand; when will I get it? When my position hits 0 or when there are no Active requests??

You're probably moving down because people who had it On Hold activated it. I never really paid close attention so I can't give you a definite answer.

I'd say it depends on the buyer. I personally wouldn't as long as it includes the case, artwork, and manual. Some collectors may be picky about it. Even if you were left a negative though, you could probably dispute it and win since I dont think a sticker that's easily removable would be grounds for a negative.

In any case, why not just remove the sticker yourself before sending it out?

I tried but I was in my car waiting to go into the post office and the stupid thing would NOT come off... I ended up probably making it worse than it was.... But, I didn't end up sending it in that case because I was concerned (which is why I'm asking). I swapped the case with Blur and sent him a new case and used the one that had sticker residue and white stickiness on it for Blur and traded it in at Gamestop.

Thanks for the advice! :p

Quick question, if I request a game, without points I go into restricted right? When I get points, is my status updated to active automatically and do I jump in front of anyone else that's still listed as restricted?

Yeah, that's what it did to me and I ended up getting matched for a few games immediately, one of which I was able to get the seller to back out of, the other was shipped right away.

So try to make sure whatever active requests you have, you really want. Cus if you get tied up and can't cancel them right away the person will just ship it and you're stuck with it.
I'm in the same boat as Jay. I dumped all my points and tokens about a month ago, picking up random games to change to cash on Ebay. There just hasn't been anything on Goozex that I want (well, that's available at least) in what seems like ages.
I have 2800 points and in the same boat. There is next to know Blu-rays being listed, even common DVDs take forever and they never low point prices on old games (1000 points for Bayonetta? Still?!).

Traded off Heavy Rain just because I don't think I'll ever bother going back to play through it a second time, plus Goozex was offering 1000 points for it. Kind of regretting it now though since the only game I want is MLB The Show 10, which I'm 143rd in line for. Ugh.

Ah don't worry about it man, in the long run it's worth it I think.

I never wanted to replay Indigo Prophecy anyways, no matter how compelling the first run was.

Too many games out there right now to warrant second play-throughs.:D Anytime you can get a full 1000 points for a game you've already played, I say dump that shit.

Baffles me how long the wait for Red Dead Redemption is right now.

I guess, especially with Heavy Rain. Not really a reason to play through it again unless you really want the trophies. I just wish the wait for MLB 10 wasn't so ridiculously long.

You could always try for disc/case only, if you don't want the whole package. I don't know many people that don't want a complete game, though.

I really hope July is Xbox 360 month (free trades). I could activate several games then.

That will never happen.

Just letting you know.

Oh man there are 2 active requests for Mass Effect, so I'm assuming I'm #3??

I REALLY hope no one who has it on hold activates it, it's already up to 300 points (when I started requesting it it was only 200).

Gahh I wish I understood Goozex more :|
Whatchu talkin' bout?!
I think he's just saying that they will most likely never do any kind of 360 month trading promotion (whether it be free trades , extra points , whatever) simply because 360 games are the most traded games on the site already. Don't need to give people extra incentive to trade them.

More likely chance of them doing it for any other system.

Ding!

Plus, he posted the same thing on the Goozex forums and enough people explained why it won't happen.

My bet is for either Wii or BluRays...

Thanks, guys. I didn't get e-mail responses to the Goozex forum, so I wasn't sure if anyone was listening. I guess their logic makes sense, it just seems a bit unfair. Oh well.

I have some cases that came from movie gallery and the front of the artwork is same as retail but the rest isn't, but the games have thier manuals and everything, what do I list them as since they dont' have the original case slip?

Disc + Manual is what I'd list it at

Did anyone get the point change e-mail today? I activated 2 games which just came out today (both were at 900 points each). I just checked my queue, and they both jumped up to 950! What the fuck?!:bomb:

Is the fake account scam rate on new games pretty high? Had gone getting 20 games while only running across a fake account once (Though probably only 6 of those games were newer releases.) Past 4 days I've been matched up with fake accounts for PoP: The Forgotten Sands twice and War for Cybertron once.

Waiting game ensues 'til they put me back in queue. Pretty disappointing!

Purchase any one of the select gift cards listed below and you'll be automatically entered. That's it! Get 50% off points and everyone will save on games and movies. And maybe you'll win the sweet new Xbox 360 Slim too!
We'll randomly select and notify a winner on July 6, 2010.
The eligible gift cards are the following:
 • Gift card: 2000 Goozex points + 5 trade tokens $ 52.50 50% off!
 • Gift card: 3500 Goozex points + 10 trade tokens $ 92.50 50% off!
 • Gift card: 5000 Goozex points + 20 trade tokens $ 135.00 50% off!
 • Gift card: 2000 Goozex points $ 50.00 50% off!
 • Gift card: 50 trade tokens $ 33.00 33% off!
 • Gift card: 1000 Goozex points + 5 trade tokens $ 41.25 25% off!

Have a sale on trade tokens alone.. And I'm in. I just have no need for points + tokens to inflate the price. Half price on tokens has seriously been the best sale yet. I picked up 100 when they did that.. over a year ago. Sigh.

Other than that, my Goozex account is just sitting dormant. I don't think I've logged in.. In over a month, apparently. Just not much cooking.

I had finally gotten Mass Effect on Goozex, and the game finally came today.

I was so surprised to see it was brand new and sealed!! That totally made my day ;)

I didn't even have to THINK about tipping him, hell if I could I'd give him 100 points!!

Very nice of you Pretzle. I sent out 3 new and sealed games a few months ago and only one got tipped. On one that didn't get tipped, the guy even said "Wow wasn't expecting a brand new game!"

Not to sound crass, but I cannot stand people who send out games expecting to get tipped. It's there as an option, not as a requirement. If I expected a tip every time I sent out a sealed game, I'd be spending a lot of time yelling at people because I didn't get what I felt I was entitled to.

Tipping is something a lot of people do for sealed games, but you cant expect it. Sometimes people dont have extra points, dont know about it, whatever. If you get tipped for a sealed game, good on that buyer, but it's not required/to be expected.

I know i won't always tip for a new/sealed game. I figure you most likely got a good deal on it to begin with and you're already coming out ahead

also, jaysapathy-you might want to log in every once in a while, so your acct doesn't get suspended and you lose your place in the queue for all your requests/offers

If you want to get a tip on a sealed game, just make sure the buyer you get matched with has a history of tipping. If not, pass them on to the next seller.

I've been getting tipped so infrequently these days that I've found myself opening a lot of sealed games just to get the DLC/registration cards out of the case (not required by Goozex for full package trades). The benefits of the included DLC usually outweighs a tip anyways since I can almost always sell that kind of stuff online for $8+ (or in the case of registration cards, use them to get free stuff). If people were more reliable about tipping I'd keep those games sealed, as it stands, though, out of the 75 or so sealed items I've sent on Goozex I've only received about 15 tips.

I make sure to always tip sealed games, though. That should really go without saying, as the disparity in value versus a used and new product is usually well over the $2.50 that 50 point tip costs you.

Passing up buyers should not be practiced unless they have plenty of negative feedback. It's abusing the system. Also "TIPS AREN'T REQUIRED!" Never expect a tip....ever....

I don't always tip for sealed games. How is a sealed one better than a mint copy? Hell I've gotten sealed movies that have fingerprints, scratches, and damaged cases.

It usually depends on how I feel when opening it, and how much points I think it's worth. I have received sealed games with my reaction being "Oh great it's sealed, I should probably tip" (sarcasm)

I probably would tip if a game came with an unused dlc code that wasn't required for the trade though.

Alright guys I've traded a few games on Goozex before but when do I need to get in line for a game? Because it seems like the lines get gigantic and by the time you get a good spot the game will be cheaper on eBay anyways :( I want to use the service but I'd love a tip and tricks for how to get the games you want

Request the day it's released, as early in the day as you can when it's first listed. Otherwise if it's an older release, get in line and wait it out.

New releases are added at 12 midnight CST on release date, so the closer to that time that you add, the better spot. But beware of server slowdown on release night. If it's a big name game, the server will be extra slow. You probably won't do great the first few tries, it takes some getting used to. But even if you get top 100, that's better than waking up the next day and getting 400+.

As for the cheaper on ebay/goozex deal, I try not to worry about that. I use Goozex so I don't have to spend money, so even if I can get a game like FF13 on Amazon/Ebay for around $30, if I really want it, I'll get it at 1000 goozex points because that money I'm saving(and a wife I'm making happy). If I'm way back in line at the end, I'll keep it on hold until it drops in points. Still waiting to get Assassin's Creed 2 because it keeps dropping.

I got 2 GBA games with their boxes (Drill Dozer and Castlevania: HoD). I didn't tip and I regret not doing so. I was in line for a lot of games and didn't want to be down 100 points since it was during their free trade period.

I think I've sent 1 or 2 sealed games. I don't really care if I'm tipped or not on those.

With a sealed game, mint condition is guaranteed. From my experiences on Goozex (I've received 400+ games), receiving a mint condition item is a very rare occurrence. I understand that tipping isn't required, but if there is any case where a tip is appropriate it should be when you receive a new item instead of a used one. There is a reason that places like Gamestop charge more for new games.

The situations you describe where sealed movies have fingerprints/scratches/etc. are probably all due to resealing. Companies like NorAm and Pieceofmindmedia both reseal movies and sell them as new. Most sealed video games that will be going through Goozex are legit, brand new games.

Because Goozez, as a whole, is unbalanced. Good luck ever getting a new game in it's first few months. It's gotten so bad they now sell points which puts you at more of a disadvantage since those points will be used to buy games/movies, and not putting more stuff out for trade. I need to dump by 2800 points fast as I don't see this site lasting a whole lot longer.

You don't even request newer releases based off your feedback so why talk. You mainly receive movies, which aren't doing very well on the site at the moment, since the site consists mostly of gamers.

Also these are used games sent from gamers who probably want to play the games first before getting rid of them, so sure it's going to take some time to get those games. If you want it now then buy it. Even with that, trading of newer releases does move quite well, there's just a lot of demand.

They've been selling points for quite awhile which most users don't purchase. There are no signs of goozex "going bad" as the site has improved, gotten more members, and making more money over time. More than 6K trades going on now, not bad imo.

If you want to leave the site after less than a year being a member, that's fine, just know that you're wrong.

agreed.
I almost wonder if it would be more beneficial to take away the "Long Wait" that shows up if you are over 100 and actually put the number. You could go from 402 to 255 and not realize it because it says "Long Wait" either way, but that's a significant jump.

I request new games all the time - I'm just in the line of 100+ other people to get stuff. By the time it hits reasonable number I can just buy the game fr $20-30 rather then spending 1000 points on a stale title.

But I will be leaving as soon as I use up my points. These sales make it very obvious Goozex is hurting for funds and by selling 2000 points for $50 (so $25 for a 'new' release), just shows not as many people are really using the site as they should. They will soon have no product and people with tons of points not willing to spend the (plus $1 per trade) on a shitty game.

Being 'wrong' is hardly the issue. If you did the math, you would see how they are really not much of a deal unless you are lucky enough to get a new release fairly soon. Some people are likely thrilled to get 3 year old games...I'm not.
