Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!

Are you guys wary of what you spend your points on? For example, I won't spend 1,000 on Rage knowing that those same 1,000 can get something else that is worth much more. Another example is that I don't want to request Prince of Persia Trilogy for 1,000 points when I can get it at Wal-Mart for $20.

More or less. There are plenty of games that I won't spend 500 points on. Fallout 3 GOTY, though, would definitely be worth the 500 due to all of the content.

I just got matched again. I'm very pleased.

Remember those people who would troll this thread saying "Oh, Goozex is soooo dead"? Heh. They're probably quietly slinking back onto the site trying to trade some games.

Every now and then an image won't load but otherwise the site has worked pretty well for me.

Now I need more points since Mortal Kombat (PS3) and Lego Star Wars brought me down to 450 points whereas most of my requests are close to 1000 points each. I love Goozex but hate how I'm first in line to offer a game for months/years but no one wants them.

My strategy has been to trade away high-point games in return for multiple cheaper titles. It takes the sting out of postage since I'm not sending as many games, and the condition of the older games I get from Goozex users almost always exceeds what I'd be able to find at Gamestop or other used-game stores.

Prince of Persia is an example of a decent flip. I was hoping Goozex would have an end-of-year sale on trade tokens, then I'd seriously consider jumping back in.

The Goozex trading fluctuate a lot. Sometimes I get a lot games or none in a month.

I generally add a bunch of games(even the high point games) to my request list to stop this. Heck, I've gotten several rare games in the process. You'll never get a chance unless you add it to request list. I also rotate my points frequently by dumping a few of Goozex games to Amazon or Ebay. I always keep my Goozex points balance under 5000 with low trade tokens just in case the website goes belly under. I never value Goozex points that much. The demand far exceed the supply. The points aren't even close to their 1:1 to US dollar. It is far less.
The points aren't even close to their 1:1 to US dollar. It is far less.
When has it ever equaled that? The ratio I usually hear is 100 points = $5, and that hasn't held for a while either.

That's how much they cost if you were to buy them directly through Goozex. Who in their right mind would do that, I don't know.
When has it ever equaled that? The ratio I usually hear is 100 points = $5, and that hasn't held for a while either.
The same way people calculate Xbox 360/PS3/Wii points you divide it. People generally do this when there are alternative ways to get points(such as sales, deals or promotions), so they can get the best bang for their dollar. It's not hard to find a 1000 point game for $30 or less. And when you factor the high demand with low supply, older games get overvalue compared to market value from most retailers.

Heck, I picked up a few 700 point games to trade out during the recent slew of BB $4.99 sales - F.E.A.R. 3, Green Lantern, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, a couple others - and I've gotten my fair share of new games shipped by sellers direct from Amazon, one priced at $9.99 on Amazon for Goozex 900 points, someone sent me Rage when it hit $19.11, another sent me a new copy of Dance Central 2 - ALL good! So long as I'm spending very little money and gettin' the goods!

Let's hope demand stays up. And with some new folks coming in, we'll keep seeing an influx of newer or even more obscure titles. Once Upon a Monster and JASF finally matched, after months of waiting.

I recently sent out about 20 PS3 games.. mostly ones that have been out for at least over a year or so since I've come to realize that I don't have time/attention span to play anything short of AAA. Such as no point into holding on to both Dantes Inferno or Tomb Raider when I have copies of GoW3 and Uncharted I have yet to finish. Kids probably dump a lot of games after Xmas too.

Only prob is now I'm sitting on 9k points and despite requesting games first thing in the morning when I wake up on their release date, I'm still high up on the list for almost everything I'm interested in. But then again I guess points can only drop in the meantime... something happened in December where they started changing how quickly points fluctuate which seems like it will help.

When they hit 1500K trades, I figured they were dying.. but now they're at 2800 trades. Guess people are trading all the unwanted games they received fro Christmas.

I keep getting matched but none of the sellers confirm and the offer expires.

That's been happening to me a ton lately.

You don't seem to understand.

One article prompted this surge. Once these new users figure out there is nothing to get with all these points they got (and have to buy tokens), they will quickly redeem and leave.

It'll slink back to normality around February. But at least some people will get to blow through some of their points at the expense of new, dumb members. Trust me, you guys got very lucky. All these new games will finally be available and you can finally cash out. Sadly, new members will sift through the catalog, realize nothing is available, and leave.

I'd love to be able to trade games for games. But it's impossible when a new game comes up, you 'want it' and your 100+ in line. Whats the point?

Movies are even worse. There are only 7 Blu-ray/DVD Combo's available. why would I add anything to their system when my choice is Jonas Bros or Alvin and the Chipmunks? 8 3DS Games. Only 38 normal Blu-rays. It's all a joke.

grrrrrrrrrrr leave feedback quicker please

games got to 3 people on thursday and no feedback yet 0_o

i need to get more insta points, the most trades are going on now, i am #1 for lots of games now :(

Even if it's true that it's only a temporary surge - and why wouldn't it be? it's the holidays - I'll take it. I never keep more than 5000 points handy, which sounds like a lot, but when most of my queued games are 1000 points each, that's not very much.

Still waiting for shipping confirmation on Arkham City, which was supposed to go out the 30th. He's got 97 trades under his belt, though, so it's probably just the holiday. Two going out, with one being a NCAA Football 2005 for the GC(!). How else was I going to get rid of that, I wonder?

Wow. I just added a few 3DS games I got for $5 from Best Buy and had people pick them almost instantly. Didn't even mean to add them (guess I did somehow). Now I have to decide if I go through with the trade (1100 points) or cancel them.

Went through and nothing I want is available. I'm pretty much 30+ on the wait list. Yeah...

Wait, no Instant points anymore? I have over 500 feedback and they points don't post until I get feedback? Screw that.

My account says this:
Open slots: 25 requests / unlimited offers
25 active requests at a time / unlimited active offers at a time
You earn points as soon as you confirm shipping your items to other members: max credit 1,000 points

And I confirmed shipment (with tracking #...it's a CAG so I feel bad not shipping it) and no points.

Took me a day or two to receive the instant points last time.

Has to be Goozex labels.

You get instant points when you print Goozex labels. Goozex used to give out instant points with confirm shipping until someone abuse the system.

Anyway, I used a instant points via by Goozex label a few minutes ago. My account was short on points again. People are definitely shipping more games on Goozex. It's no where as crazy as last time. I requested so many games that cost 1000 points and they all came at once. I have to keep refilling my account by sending several games from my personal collection or beat the games I received really fast. Luckily, those niche games I own hold pretty good value.

Which, as I can only assume, costs more money than say Paypal shipping (or even the post office)....right?

I think there's a small fee for using the goozex label. I never use them myself, since I just use paypal labels.

It does cost more, but not much. $.50-.60 maybe? I found Goozex labels to be about the same cost as going to the USPS, but not as cheap as flat out PayPal shipping.

I keep seeing people talking about a surge of trades... are you guys getting newer games? I'm at 5 or less for over 100 items and have only received 3 things over the past month. I was also matched for another item and the match expired today, making that 6 expired trades over the last month.

I have ~4000 points now, down from 12000 about 6 months ago. But most of those items were things I didn't want and their point values were significantly higher than actual values.

I have had an increase of older games that I wanted to try out, these are between 200 and 350 points. I have never bothered to request a 1000 point game just because of how slow I am at playing games. Backlog.

Received: White Knight Chronicles (no one was sending out part 2), Battlefield Bad Company 2 (I forgot to check if there was a single player campaign), and Tenchu Z

Pending (in transit?): Army of Two: 40th Day, Culdcept Saga (been waiting on this for a long time now), Prince of Persia (readding it to my collection).

Waiting for confirmation: Kane & Lynch 2, Star Wars Unleashed 2, Lost Planet 2, Overlord 2.

So I am quite happy with the spike in trading at least for the older stuff. :)

Doesn't Goozex have some kind of procedue for people who continually get matched but don't send?

I've gotten Mafia II CE matched with the same guy for the 3rd time now, the first two times they expired.

I'm pretty sure the offer gets put on hold if left to expire twice.

If it happens repeatedly with the same person, somebody's screwing with you.

Yeah, it's strange when it keeps happening with the same person - though I did have it happen twice with the same person and they confirmed the 2nd time the offer was pending. For you, could be the guy didn't see his email that there was a trade available, he's screwing with you, or, in my particular case, he didn't HAVE the game yet (it was en route from Amazon).

Some "newer" things are being traded, thankfully...wiped out my points, which is OK I guess. Just got Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster and Arkham City, Battlefield 3 and Halo Anniversary matched and are supposedly shipping in the next couple days, and an obscure one, JASF, also matched.

Am sifting through my Blu Ray collection to trade out a few things that have pretty good value. 500 points for Casino Royale and 400 for Last Samurai work, no? Though 200 for Princess Bride will NOT have me trading it out.

Traded a new copy of Warhammer 40K Space Marine for 1000, sent Priority, hes had it 2 days and no feedback. I have no points either.

I always send feedback immediately, but I always get feedback 2-3 days after they get it. I like to send a friendly message asking them if they got the game. Just a quick reminder.

Speaking of games with DLC, I love getting older games in pristine condition. I just got Gears of War 2 and it is in absolute mint condition and even included an unused code for the Flashback map pack! I couldn't help but leave a tip, especially considering it was only 150 points.

A while ago, I got GTA IV for 360. I have it on PS3, but have been wanting to replay it and figured I might as well go for achievements along the way. I swear the game was bought brand new and just opened and sent to me. It even had the map. I love little things like that.

Getting Yoshi's Island DS coming. Forgot I had that on my list. been there for over a year. Not something I really wanted that badly, but the trade's already been shipped so I can't cancel it.
Ya i did that yesterday, a kind note saying can you please leave feedback.
Heck the game is brand new with the DLC.
Disagree with sending a note so soon. Might backfire. I tend to wait a few extra days if someone "reminds" me about feedback right after I get the game. I know I'm not the only one who does this.

By the way, if its been more than a few days, I'm usually not bothered by the note, depending on how its written, but if the game just came in the mail, that day or the day before, its annoying.

Unless it's a dick note, that's a dick move. I completely agree it's annoying, but if I've gotten the game and tested it, there's no good reason to sit on giving feedback. That said, I don't think I've ever sent a feedback reminder, and probably won't ever. If it's a new-ish user, I might communicate with them to relax about it, or I might get them their points as soon as possible to encourage them and enhance their Goozex experience. The bigger the pool of users, the better off everyone is.

I sent the game on Monday and it got there Wednesday and i sent a note Friday.

Its funny cause the day after I get games I get a email to leave feedback which I usaully do. But I guess I should hold off and wait a bit. But lately it seems most of the time I ship super fast and stuff is in Like New condition and sometimes new and I have to wait like 1-2 weeks for feedback.

But its all good. I shall listen and wait.

I know what you mean. It's strange though how some newer games I've received were in such bad shape... I got a Twilight Princess and Lost Odyssey that looked like they were sent through a power sander. Then again, I got Gears of War CE in near mint condition from Goozex (only the outer sleeve was scuffed up) and Mass Effect 2 CE in near mint condition though, so I can't complain too much.

But what I love even more is getting really old games in great shape. When they first started allowing trades of classic games I hesitated requesting them because I figured they'd be in shit condition. The first one I got was Link's Awakening, it was a Player's Choice version but in mint shape (even with the factory shrinkwrap slit open carefully to be able to remove/play the game). To this day, it's probably the single best thing I got from Goozex. After that though, everything's been crap...
