OFFICIAL GOTY/Complete/Ultimate/DLC Edition Compilation Thread - Now Wikified!

This thread will list all the different GOTY, Complete, Ultimate edition and whatever else they call it for video games. In other words, it will list games that come with their DLC, whether or not the DLC is on disk, the price, and whatever other notes are necessary. This is only for non-PC games since the PC gaming scene has had an explosion of digital sales through the popularity of Steam and other services, and so retail versions of PC GOTY editions are not as “deal-worthy” as the consoles or, even more rarely, handhelds.
Note that this will ONLY include games that come with paid DLC. GOTY games that don't have any DLC or come with free DLC, like Call of Duty 4 or Left 4 Dead for example, will not be listed because the vanilla version works just as well. Although, if enough people request, I can add those in. This thread will mostly be for people like me who want their digital content on disk. In addition, Limited/Collector's Editions that are released with DLC alongside the normal version of the game will not be included. This thread is merely for the re-release of a game with its DLC included.

In addition, I will add when necessary Complete Editions of games you can import that are region free and will come with the DLC on disk. Also, please don't argue whether or not a game “deserves” a GOTY edition. To many gamers, a GOTY edition is merely synonymous with “game + dlc” edition.

Definitions
I will define some terms to more clearly explain how the DLC is delivered in each game.

  • Pre-loaded: The DLC is on disk and built into the game. It does not require any additional installation.
  • Install: The DLC is on disk and must be installed to the hard drive to use.
  • Code/Voucher: The DLC is downloaded via a one-time voucher or code. Once it's been used, it cannot be reused by another console/Gamertag, and the game itself becomes "vanilla," so to speak.
  • Vanilla: A version of the game that does not have any DLC, usually the original release.

oh so diablo 3 eternal collection dont have a patch you say.. according to this guy there is a 10gb patch, and its only the vanilla diablo3 game disc in the box, and all the new eternal stuff is a download... or is the na and eu versions different???

Interesting. I had the digital version installed before I popped in the disc. I dunno if that would have mattered, since it forced me to delete it before it would install the disc version. I can try again on my second PS4, I don't think I have it installed at all on that one.

My apologies if there is a patch. The second I popped it in I did a check for update and launched it to the main menu to check. Didn't mean for any confusion =( I love when the games come pre patched.

Edit - Just tried again on my second PS4. I made sure Diablo was't installed (it had been and I deleted it) before I popped in the disc. It started to install from the disc. I checked in downloads, and saw nothing. I tried to start the game while it was still installing to the hdd from the disc and it said "Copying application.. Version 1.26 x.xxxgb/7.954 gb (xx seconds left)". Then it launched to the main screen. And I see the Necro on the list in game. I also have everything unchecked under Automatic Downloads under my system settings, so it shouldn't start updating until I try to launch a game or check for update.. =\ But I tried deleting and installing one more time disconnected from the internet. As it is installing offline, it is still saying "Copying application.. Version 1.26". I started it again offline,and see the Necro on the list. I can't image it is from my digital copy since I never bought the nerco dlc.

I tried to thoroughly check this time and list the steps I took for you guys to see, but if it is an error on my part, once again I really apologize. Hope this helps, let me know if you guys see a place i might of goofed =(

Edit 2 - Forgot to mention I have a NA version of the game.

If you could try again, deleting all local content (except for your saves) that'd be great

 
No idea, but I wonder if it's possible that a scenario could exist where it finds the update online quicker than on the disc and decides to go that route?  If it sees the download is in progress maybe it doesn't try to copy the update from the disc?  Sounds sketchy (my theory, not Midori Monkey's report), but maybe?

it sure was a bit confusing... anyway we only try to help each other here to figure this out... you have the na version, the same version as the guy i posted a video from right?.. delete everything you have of the old diablo3(not your the save files) then turn off the internet so it cant connect. it will start to install from disc, this can take a while so let it do its job... after its done then go to the game information and see what version number you have of the game. then connect online and see if there is a update coming..

i forgodsake hope there aint two na or eu version of the game out there, one missing everything and one with everything on the disc...

Yea, that's exactly what I did =\ I went offline, deleted Diablo 3 from my library, and then installed from disc. I then launched the game while offline still, and saw the Nerco as a playable character. Even tried deleting/installing offline one more time with my external hdd unplugged, and got the same result - playable Necro (version 1.26)

Yep, I have the NA version of the game.

so no download of a patch whats so ever when you did go online and you still got version 1.26. that is very strange, do you know anyone else that have the eternal edition so you can check with them and see if they did get an update or not??...

I do not understand that at all. I buy a current CD (supposedly with all extensions) and must first download 10.5GB, because only the version - Reaper of Souls - is on the CD? The reviewer from NA Amazon is the same guy that did the Youtube video.  He was using the PAL version.  He retracted his Amazon review and apologized in the comments of his video for the misinformation.  The NA version has on dlc and current patch (1.26) on disc.  The PAL version requires a 10gb patch.

Anyone hear anything about if all the content is on the XCOM 2 Collection disc for PS4/Xbox? It just came out but unable to find anything about it.

I can confirm that Hitman: Definitive Edition has LESS content on the disc than the previous disc release (Hitman: The Complete First Season). It is a later version of the game and has PS4 Pro support and 3 extra targets on existing levels. But the entire sixth level (Hokkaido) requires a download. Hokkaido is included on the previous disc release so the so-called Definitive Edition is definity a downgrade.

I was suckered into buying FFXV's royal edition so I will surely double-dip on this infinitely superior GOTY edition. Things are looking up for a third game or a re-release of the first one!

 
Getting reports here in Canada that Middle Earth Shadows of War Definitive Edition has started shipping with 2 discs instead of 1 disc with DLC voucher? Trying to confirm myself before I splurge on the EU copy.

EDIT: Yup 2-disc version re-released in North America. Has a special "2 disk" spine logo. But apparently still need to download an 18GB update!!!
