I've put over 10 hours on this game since it's release and I thought I'd open a discussion here for this game. If you have questions, I might be able to help. Or if you just want to brag about scores, this is the place to do it.

I'll get this started...which clubs have you purchased with your tickets? I just got my first "D" ticket and I'm thinking of getting the risky clubs...has anyone purchased them yet?

It's a great game! I bought the GBC version when it came out and loved that one. But Advance Tour is much better. So many options, modes, tweaking, and that goofy yet fun RPG aspect is still there.

I've only put an hour or two into it. But it seems the Marion course is pretty easy to get under par right from the start. Its not really a bad thing, and I know how this golf game works and such so it puts me ahead of the beginners they programmed the game for at first.

Definitely a great buy.

I'm thinking about getting this soon - how does it stack up to HSG3 gameplay-wise (for those who have played both)? Thanks!

So far I got the straight clubs with my "A" ticket and with my "B" ticket I got the sweet clubs. I'm not too far into yet I think I'm at level 12 right now.

I did have one question though. When I got my swing analyzed the guys said my trajectory was too low but when I level up and put my cursor on that option it the curser only moves towards lower. Is there anyway to get it back to the middle or higher or is it better to have it lower?

With my Ella character when she levels up it goes towards higher so that was kind of confusing for me.

But yea overall great buy so far.

Just a thought with the swing analyisis, if you go there, go with your clubs set to normal. Different clubs will effect the flight of the ball and make the results slightly swayed from your acutal stats. Take for instance my character with the "C" ticket power clubs...when I use those my ball gets a lot of air under it, even though my stats show that I should have normal height. And if I'm using those clubs when I get my swing checked out they will say "your ball is too high, the wind effects your shot, yadda, yadda..."
Hey how does the RPG system work? and also, does anyone know of any places that has this for less than retail:)
You gain experience for playing tournaments, and then use those experience points to level up in a couple of different categories. Drive distance, height, draw/fade, control and spin. As you level one stat, the others might start to fall if you don't keep up with them.

As for price, $5 off with the GGC is the only good deal.

Here's a tip for all ya, at least on Marion course...
I noticed that putting it really easy compared to an AW Approach shot, if theres not a lot of rough, you can make an overpowered putt and get it in that hole pretty easily. At least on the Marion course, since the putting surface is flat enough to make it a direct shot. Just make sure you add yards worth overpower to the shot and adjust that more for rough.

I was playing this today at court coz I had jury duty!

(the case got called off tho so now I can be home!)

I learned how to use the hitting the ball at a different impact point thingy...

it's good for hitting the ball around trees.

so I'm still in Dunes course, I bet Links course will screw u up with trees

I've never played it so I can't comment but I think a "perfect" game is a -22 (birdies on all holes except eagles on the par 5s). I know it is possible to get a lower score if you get lucky and chip one in from a great distance or hole in one on a par 3 but to do that 5 times is simply amazing. Or maybe it's possible to reach the greens in one shot on a par 4 and my theory goes out the window... either way, nice job.

I just got a -28 on the marion course, i also beat all the memorial scores for singles/ doubles and my character has a 317 normal drive. I love this game.

I can drive just about every par 4 on that course. In fact the real trick is to not go over the green. And I did record one hole in one in that -27.

i also just got the game and had a couple questions.

1. are the play panels necessary to be hit?
2. do the birdie badges do anything in this game like they did in toadstool tour?
3. in the singles and doubles match play screens, does it matter that some stars are blue? do u get anything for getting all gold stars?
4. has anyone gotten the connectivity to work? i keep getting an error.

Awesome game, only a few problems like your doubles partner intentionally AIMING at sand traps, water, and trees. The AI seems like it is still in a beta stage.
13 hours for me.

Oh, by the way, a little info about the main characters.

Neil has a low trajectory draw shot.
Ella has a high trajectory straight shot.

So when you are choosing your character in the beginning you are not just picking a sprite, you are choosing a style of play.

And #3 above, blue stars mean data recorded, gold stars mean data not recorded (it tells you this in small print at the bottom of the screen).

No, the manual is NOT a spanish novel about a guy named Manual, it a a booklet that tells you about the game.
