Official Metroid Prime Hunters - Bounty Thread

ok - it might have been covered here in this thread - but all of a sudden the thread exploded and there's a ton of posts here now...

Anyway - planning on getting this (probably as a bday gift saturday) was wondering if there are any left-handed players out there - and how it plays left handed?

lol. no offense to myself, but it's a huge pain to add everyone's codes to the start of the thread. Thanks for starting a new code thread.

So far late last night I got all the characters (yes, through 1 player mode) so if you see me online and need a few characters, just let me join a game and if I loose, you get em. Just tell me the ones you need before the match.

I'm finding depending on what modes you play and how many people take part, characters are stronger or weaker. Weavel is a beast in nodes and games consisting of 3 or 4 people. Sylux is amazing for 1 on 1 since his health drain is insane. I still need to figure out trace's mode strengths, but he's pretty good overall.

Samus is the least special, but very user friendly since she can charge her missiles, thus making them homing...

I didn't know you could unlock hunters that way...Of course, I've yet to beat anyone, so I wouldn't...

Is there anything else that can be unlocked for multiplayer? For instance, if you up your missile capacity in single player, does that translate to multiplayer?

I was hoping that's true, but I have no idea if the missile thing works... it might but who knows.

I'm going to be on in one minute so look out for me.

lol sorry I probably missed you. I didn't see anyone on so I just started playing 1 player mode and it's a long ass level... Just got ocolanth #5.

I just got the game. Pretty sweet so far but it is a little akward to jump without the thumbstrap. Double tapping seems weird for me.

Had a nice couple of 1 on 1 battles with PrimeCUNTR. I can't believe how seamless the VOIP is. No lag whatsoever.

I saw Kreegs but had trouble starting/joining a game. I'm still waiting around in the lobby if anyone wants to hop on. I'll try to keep it on most of the evening if I'm not playing single player or something else. May give multiplayer Tetris a try.

I reccomend the stylus since it pretty much removes alot of the tapping problems. Plus it can make use of more screen than the strap. The double tapping is almost second nature via stylus.

I'll keep checking the friend wifi, but will probably be primarily filling up my rival list with the regular wifi.

That's a good suggestion. I find the thumbstrap very restricting and sometimes you have to tap something 3 or more times just for it to register (probably due to my big thumb and it contacting the screen in a different spot then I wanted to tap).

How do you reach the R button (boost) when you're using stylus? (I guess I never really need to use it much though so maybe it won't be a problem).

I finally beat level 2. That took me a while. I have beaten 2 hunters, have 35 missile capacity and 2 energy shield upgrades. Hopefully I haven't missed any of the upgrades. I guess I can go back and get them if needed.

they were probably getting hate maile for the low score. maybe a PSP fan at Gamespot reviewer and purposefully scored it low.
What the...

Gamespot put up an 8.6 review, but they've since taken it down.

Rescore?
I was hoping for another 9. Please be a rescore.

Got the game today and just tried a couple quick games online. Pretty cool so far. I added most of the codes in the thread. Heres mine-

I'd guess that Gamespot 8.6 score is probably right and there was just a problem with the review unrelated to the score. Would be nice if I were wrong...just looks like this isn't going to be the unbelieveable must-buy game people thought it would be.

Doesn't matter, I'm still getting it tomorrow probably.

I swear it's the must buy game if it is for Multiplayer. Single isn't bad but it's pretty good and could be a bit better and more involving (these rival hunters don't even talk, they just shoot you).

Multi on the other hand is a lot fun. Even if you can't play a random match of anything else but Battle (Deathmatch) you can add someone as a rival if they accept, and then set a game for you and your rivals to play. I don't think the controls could get any better without sacrificing so much of the game's features. Back trying to up my rank!

Sylux is kinda cheap. His lighting coil's health stealing works too well since the ammo on that weapon takes forever to deplete. Like one round lasts like 3 secs. That's too much! But it is the shortest ranged weapon in the game so, if you get trapped in a corner and just don't turn into your alt form and book it then that's your fault I guess. It's funny watching people try to use Weavel. Like awww you think I'd fall for that? I haven't found any faults in any of the hunters yet! They all kick butt for different reasons.

I haven't picked this game up yet, but may later this week.

I'm curious as to what people think of the single-player game? I have no wifi or friends with DSs, so I'd pretty much be confined to the single player, but I loved the GC Prime games. I hear there's only 2 bosses that keep getting recycled? Is this true, or is there at least a third final end boss? And how are the puzzles? According to IGN the single-player ruels, but gamespot says it's nice, but a little shallow compared to the other primes. So is it worth $30+ just for the single player?
I'll be on in the next 15 min, since I need a break from playing it all day. Plus I had an awsome time chit chatting with you last night
Yeah it was pretty awesome. Nintendo finally got it right with the voice chat :applause:

Anyways, ok, I'm going to finish some stuff quick and I'll be back in a few minutes to play a game, I can't play too long because I have to be up in the morning, but the game is so addicting...

yeah, right now I got a lobby open, so anyone is welcome
just got ocolanth #6 and damn its hard.. i have all but 1 power up now...

personally i love weavel, but u might know that already if u check nintendowifi.com...
Yeah. I think we're going to have to make a rule that you can't be Weavel in nodes. That was an out and out slaughter. ;) But thanks for helping me unlock all of those guys. And your between match commentary was spot on. :)

Sorry I dropped out on you guys last night. When we went to start that last match, my screen faded to black and then didn't do anything. I waited 2 mins before giving up and shutting it off. Realized I was pretty tired, so I just went to bed.

I'll be back to recieve more thorough beatings this weekend, possibly tonight. I'm actually going to drive over to a McDonald's on my lunchbreak and see if their wifi works sitting in my car in the parking lot.

I'm going to figure out a way to deal with weavel just like how I figured out how to make Rolento and Touch It think about heading up to the sniper top on that alinos arena. I froze both of them at once but at the same time I got sniped mid-air.

One small thing I don't like about the single player adventure is that you have to use the radar on your bottom screen. I don't really use the radar much at all and would find the 3D map much more useful. Wish I had the option to swap 'em out.

But how would you rotate and zoom said 3D map-radar combo while playing the game at the same time?
But how would you rotate and zoom said 3D map-radar combo while playing the game at the same time?
I didn't say it'd be practical. I just said I wanted it. ;)

It could work if it was auto-rotated on the fly. Or maybe if you needed to adjust it, you could hold down the right shoulder button (a button that isn't used in the stylus control configuration) and then use the d-pad to rotate it. Dunno. They could have implemented it if they wanted to.

It had a map in the demo I believe. I would have loved if they kept the map instead. One of my favorite benefits from having two screens in games likes this is not having to pause to get the map all the time.

yeah, that was a pretty damn good fight, but mostly everyone was tryong to secure the Sniper area... though it looked pretty damn cool when I shot you mid-air... I was expecting to miss

anyone know where to unlock the Sniper/Trace red shot in 1p mode? I'm stuck since I'm having the hardest time finding it...

well, I'm finally at the last boss of the game but I hav no idea how to beat him... I'll figure it out eventually I guess... I also hope that anything I didn't scan I can go back and scan, cuz if not, that would suck ass...

I'll be on later once I beat this boss, but who knows when that will be. I play alot of late night games, so if you need a late game look me up.

well, I just beat the game, but it says I'm about 70% done with the game... it seems I have to scan everything before getting a real ending or something (im missing two slots in the movies section). It's really cool to since I now have an icon indicating I beat the game on my hunters license (if you want to see it, just log in a look me up!).

how long is the game?
how long is the game?
well, the game says it took me a little over 8 hours to complete even though it felt longer.

I'm still wondering what those "????" in the sound options menu are? probably unlockable sound bytes or soundtracks.

also... i'm going up in ranks so I'm happy... #143 so far overall... not bad (i'm guessing) :)
