I should have the game soon, probably not on release, but before the end of the month, I have to get in on this before people are too good at it and I suck :p.
Went from not caring at all, to wanting this badly when I read it has a full single player experience.
I didn't even realize it had a single player game... BONUS!

I reccomend visiting the links I put up in the OP to get some good info.

It's been said that it will take as much time to beat as the original Metroid Prime, so I'm happy even though I have yet to play any of the other primes.

Played a new demo of it today at a Target retail kiosk.. lots of chatter in the beginning (endless text!), followed by a pretty cool cinema.. then remember that sound at the beginning of the first Metroid? It does that, then zooms around Samus, and flies into the back of her head and you take control from there. Was pretty cool. I'll pick it up one day, never been a big fan of Metroid games.

/edit: No 'bounty' in the title

Do you have to get other people's friends code to play mulitplayer or is that just to be able to use VoIP?

I know there isn't bounty in title, but added it to make thread sound better.

and the friend code is only for voice chat. other than that, online is immediatly available for play with anyone.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I can't afford this and Tetris. Stop talking about it!
Time for you to head to ebay! Or at least sell some body parts...

I wonder what I could sell for $35... a few smaller toes?

I wish I could get this on release, but it looks like I'll be getting it a few days after. Hopefully I don't get kicked around too much on WiFi.

Both arms.

can't wait to pick up this and Tetris...this even moreso. I love me some metroid. online deatmatches should be interesting.

I'm actually looking forward to playing CAGs quite a bit. I want ot see how well I stack up... actually, I'm going to fire up the demo version I have just to get myself into the flow of things.

You only need 3 fingers on each hand to play DS (thumbs obviously then pointer fingers for trigger buttons and an extra finger to hold the DS). So you can sell your pinky and ring finger on both hands :).

Anyone know of any deals on Metroid Prime?
To start this off: is it just me or does Weavel look too much like Fulgore from Killer Instinct?

Yes, but with a bigger bra size
rumble cart? explain
It came packaged with Metroid Prime Pinball.

Anyways, March 20 will be a money-dumping day for me and my wife. Two copies of Tetris (His and Hers) and then a copy of Hunters for me. Although, I'm trying to get her interested in Metroid enough to pick that game up as well.

I look forward to playing against the CAGs. Haven't picked a hunter yet though... It will difficult for me not to play as Samus.
don't forget that the rumble cart from Metroid Pinball is compatable... if I like ti enough, I'll pikc up the rumble cart.
Oooo....I didn't know that, but it makes perfect sense. I wish they'd supported the rumble cart in MKDS (my only complaint with that game). It's neat the way it's used in Partners in Time, though I wouldn't call it a rumble pak so much as a buzz and whirr pak. ;)

So based solely on visuals and descriptions, which of the new bounty hunters do you guys like the most?

Noxus and Spire seem pretty cool. I like their backstories.

not based off story, but off what I've seen how they play, I like Weavel and Sylux so far... though most of them have good story. I;m just curiose to try Weavel's body split ability. It's unique but very risky since when your legs take damage, your far away torso also takes damage... but I expect it's a great way to set up traps.

seems a contest is going down for this game:

the link to the site to enter: http://www.muchmusic.com/promo/nintendo06_metroidprime/

though, I think you have to live in canada to enter, so good luck to those who enter...

also, here's some lobby videos (note they are really crappy... so crappy even the guy filming it points it out):

also, here's a better video of the G4 (please kill these people... the damn channel is a turd mostly) preview:
 my thoughts exactly. pretty good preview though!
yeah, the footage was pretty nice, but I feel like the hosts think their cool when they point out you fight a wooden rod... I hope hosts are flamable.

that's x-play for you. they always try too hard to be quirky and clever. we're lucky though--usually the previews and reviews are strangely interrupted by dumb skits that take place at an office...

don't think I'm faking it, but this is an official Nintendo pic of Samus:

I heard she plays a mean bass

plsu, I'm putting in a space in my sig for Metroid Friend Code to get me ready...

also, maybe there will be a non suit version of Samus... I'm guessing there will be a playable character that Nintendo hasn't even mentioned yet that's unlockable.

Samus without her suit? Be careful, or you're going to end up like this poor bastard: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87886

don't forget than when the game is released for everyone to post up their friend codes here.

oh and about samus looking hot... she's not my type, but she is not bad.

every band wishes for a chick bassist like that. Kim gordon eat your heart out! (jk)
Nintendo Power gave MP:H an 8. That is a sign for worry.
Nah, I've noticed its more a sign of them getting more realistic with reviews. So its probably equivalent to a 9.5 a few months ago.

hmmm this game may be better than I was thinking... great!

pulling off a great FPS is not easy, so I'm surprised Nintendo could pull it off... then again, the developers of this game are huge hardcore metroid freaks, so it makes sense.

Sonic Riders also got an 8.

Well I don't care what the reviews say (except that they say something) because I reserved this game and it has boss battles on top of bouts with other hunters. And 26 arenas.

I have no interest in the online play.

The single player better be top notch because that is why I am getting it.

from the looks of it, the single player is going to rock. Everyone is really thinking the multiplayer will be the main focus, but I only see it as a added replay value.
