You probably won't get fragged that much since the whole community has to get used to the controls and gameplay together. Now in a year, if you haven't played in awhile, you'll be made mince meat out of.

Yup, I'm planning on going to Best Buy tomorrow to get a Gamers Gift card and then heading back on Tuesday to get my copy. Hopefully they have enough in stock.

I can't find any BBY's around Atlanta that carry the 2006 GGC. I thought they stopped carrying them?
 
I hope not, they're available online. Maybe I need to order one online but then i'll have to wait til that is mailed to me. aaaahhhh. Says estimated delivery date 3/24-3/31

hmm I was lookin at them and they look like the crappy ones they have up front "for gamers" when they are no different than the other ones. I guess you really have nothing to lose but a lil time for your purchase
 
I just read the thread on the Request a video game deal forum and they said the coupon isn't on it.

I guess I'll just use the 10% off coupon and call it a day. Then just use my gift card on something else.

Went by Circuit City to pick up Chibi Robo for $35. They had neither Tetris DS nor MP: Hunters.
 
Will be calling most Walmarts in my area later today, already tried a few, but they said they are still getting their stocks in, so I'm guessing that means I should try later and maybe it'll be stocked by then.
 
I checked the local EB store, Gamespot and Best Buy and it wasn't at any of those locations. I saw Tetris DS at Best Buy.

The guy at Best Buy said they'd be on shelves there tomorrow though.

I also found the gift cards with $5 off coupon so I picked up one of those today.
 
I need to pick up a new power supply for my computer tomorrow. I'm going to try and pick up MP:H while I'm in Best Buy. Can't wait.
 
Man it seems like Nintendo isn't shipping ANY MP:H's out until today, because usually I can always find a copy of a newly released game on the actual release date, but not today...well tomorrow I will try again.
 
Relentless, any idea where all the reviews are at for this? Suprised I haven't seen any more. Are the reviewers all having too much fun playing the game instead of writing their review?

I don't know... it may be something that Nintendo had organized. It's possibly a scheme to some sort of publisizing, btu who knows. Maybe due to the recent press invite, Nintendo didn't really think the press needed early review copies of the game... I'm guessing most people will have the game before the reviews go up...

Well, we know IGN got their review copy on friday or saturday because on saturday they put an early impressions of the final build.

Looks like I'll have mine before reviews but I usually like to see what reviewers say first to be safe. I highly doubt Metroid Prime Hunters will turn out bad though.

I suspect a lot of reviewers have been loathe to post a review without first having the opportunity to take the much-ballyhooed multiplayer deathmatch through its paces. That's nearly impossible to do (unless, perchance, all of those reviewers with advance copies somehow managed to find each other) until the wifi system gets populated with eager folks like ourselves. Hence, the moratorium.
 
Something is keeping me from getting this immediately, probably the fact that it's an FPS on the DS. Metroid or not, that's going to be strange territory. I find it hard to believe a Metroid game wouldn't be outstanding though...hope this isn't where the "first time for everything" cliche is invoked.

Tetris will keep me more than occupied in the meantime.
 
son of a...I stopped by my EB games today where I pre-ordered it and the guy said no copys came in yet... >_<

he said to check back tommorow, but I'm calling later today to make sure... gahh... I wasted $4 on bus money to see if they had it since it was almsot guaranteed... damn.

Well, just learned how to morph into a ball and use scanner. pretty good graphics. I'd definitely say N64 quality in that regard. The controls are awesome IMO.
 
BTW, no one is doing multiplayer on wifi yet or at least I couldn't find any players when I tried. When you get it, we should trade friend codes so we can get some matches going

I went over to Best Buy to see if they had it but it was nowhere in sight. Hopefully it will come in tomorrow, although their website states it ships on 3/30...
 
when I went, they had them stacked on the ground and a guy was making room to put it on the shelf. Mine didn't actually make it to the store shelves lol. I had good timing.

Make sure you ask, especially at Best Buy. I've never seen them put a game out on the shelves on street date, but they usually have it somewhere in the building. Meteos and Mario Kart DS I had to have them get out of the back. Such was the case today. No Tetris or MP: Hunters on the shelves, but they had them up at customer service. They also had a bunch of GGC's up there, too.

Now I just have to wait until tonight to play them. :( I'll pass along my friend info as soon as I get it.

The point of pre-ordering continues to elude me. On release day, it seems like the folks who preordered are the ones who end up getting screwed, either by paying too much or the game not arriving when promised. And they pay early for this privilege.

Can't you just pick it up somewhere else, then return the copy you preordered when it finally shows up?
 
I usually don't preorder because you don't know which store will have the deals. I preordered Fable and got that a day earlier than everyone else and preordered Jade Empire because they lied and said that was the only way to get a limited edition.
