Yeah, looking at sprites from the old NES games that barely had characters bigger than 15x15 or 20x20 makes it a lot easier to come up with a decent puzzle.
Great news!
Today I was able to connect and it looks like the EU region is having a picross event. They are having a contest where you upload your best homemade puzzle. Then, starting the 31st of Aug until Sept 7, You will be able to DL the best ones submitted.
I will be more then happy to pass everything I can DL from the event on to you guys through my upload section. I'm sure Hootie and the others who bought he EU version can as well.
I uploaded my gundam one. You are only allowed to upload one per event, and I thought it was better then my Alex. Would be really cool if it got picked as decent enough to be included in the "best puzzles" selection.
I hope the U.S. version has something similar in the coming months. This will really keep the game feeling new and lengthen the lifespan of it considerably if they have lots of these events.
Ah, so if you have the EU version of the game you get whatever puzzle packs NOE have up, Japan version and US version work the same. Why didn't they just let everyone see all of the puzzles and put a little flag to name them in English or Japanese or whatever? Bleh. You'd think they could at least be bothered to take the already completed packs and simply name the puzzles in English then slap them up for us in the states.
And yeah I hope the US does something like that too. Sounds pretty cool to me. I'd obviously love to check out anything cool you get from the contest.
