Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-playstation-camera-for-playstation-4-black/8245153.p?skuId=8245153

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

From what I’ve read, the one GameStop sells for $35 (and amazon) I forget the name but can charge two ds4 two move controllers and rest the headset, also a USB port in back to charge wireless headphones etc. is the best “reviewed” stand.
I guess many of the others have issues and everyone ends up getting this one, at least according to most reviews.

Edit: Collective Minds PSVR Showcase Rapid AC PS4 VR Charge & Display Stand

On amazon and GameStop.
Thanks! Is it this one: https://www.gamestop.com/ps4/accessories/playstation-vr-showcase-rapid-ac-charge-display-stand/134664

That's what I was already eyeing.

EDIT: yup. looks like you were editing, right as I was responding to ask. Thanks again!!

I've been looking at that one also.. but it has sold out on Amazon, but still available at Frys. Reviews are saying that the unit is over charging controllers which is ruining them.. Not sure I believe that is possible since I'm pretty sure the controller handles when it cuts charging off.

Also, if you wear glasses, the lenses on both v1 and v2 of the headset are prone to scratching. There is a solution being sold to resolve this on eBay. I ordered a set and will report back on how well they work out. I won't be opening my headset til christmas though since it's a gift from my wife and kids for Christmas.

Is Starblood Arena worth $8? Just ordered a PSVR and looking to pick up some games so any other recommendations would be welcome :)
I read up on it and it sounds like the multiplayer is pretty dead, but it has a 30-40 hour long campaign with collectable content. It looks a lot like a vr Descent, and people who played it really seem to like it, so I'm sure I'll get my $8 from it.

I got Eve Valkyrie for $15 from Target, seems it and Starblood Arena are similar games and made mostly for online multiplayers. Wonder if I should just get Starblood Arena or should keep Eve Valkyrie. Any comment from who have played both of them?

I saw that also on the overcharging/whatever. One guy responded later that he had the wrong cable plugged into the base instead of the one that came with it, and thats what did it..

I just decided to get that one after watching a review on youtube and all the higher praise given over some of the others.

I'm pretty sure overcharging or not is not controlled by the cable.

I've played both a bit and the tl;dr is that Eve has had and will likely get more support but Starblood is a more accessible easy to play game.

Eve Valkyrie got a major patch and was made to support non VR along with a price drop. I don't play much but not long after the patch I hopped into multiplayer and found game half full (they fill open slots with AI bots). The game is crossplay with PC and supporting 2D may continue to help it even though it's a kinda basic arcade shooter. They also revamped and built out the upgrade tree though I don't think it added much. Finally while Starblood just added bots in its biggest post launch patch Eve has added maps and modes regularly.

Starblood is a decent style 8 degree shooter with an effective cartoon style in the vein of Ratchet and Clank. While Eve Valkyrie has 5-6 training missions that sort of serve as a campaign with scripted in mission sequences Starblood only features a barebones bot driven tournament system that I found extremely bland. At launch the game was pretty empty and you needed to be part of a PSVR community to coordinate matches. With the patch supporting bots recently released it may be easier to get online since you don't wait forever for a lobby to fill. Starblood is imo much easier to play because even though you have to keep your head on a swivel with a lot more space to hide and get attacked from Eve is much faster and like a traditional arcade space shooter.

I believe Eve Valkyrie is done, as far as the possibility of further development is concerned. CCP announced that a while back when they released the expansion a few months ago.

I looked into PSVR stands a lot last week after ordering the standalone headset, and I very quickly narrowed it down to the "official" one from PowerA (https://www.amazon.com/Charge-Display-Station-PlayStation-VR-4/dp/B01LB4KGOS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1511880659&sr=8-4&keywords=psvr+stand) and the Collective Minds one (https://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-Showcase-Rapid-Charge-Display/dp/B01LYGCK1M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511880659&sr=8-3&keywords=psvr+stand) being discussed in this thread.

I was very close to ordering the Collective Minds stand, as it was cheaper than the PowerA stand, I liked how it could also hold up my headphones, and the fact that it charges more controllers than the PowerA one, but I ended up ordering the PowerA stand, as the NUMEROUS reviews on Amazon saying that the Collective Minds stand was frying peoples' controllers scared me off.  I got the PowerA stand set up a couple of nights ago, and I think it looks really nice.

Just my $.02.

I bought these from ebay earlier this year and they work well for what they are.  They prevent your glasses from coming in contact with the VR lenses.  They are made of a rigid plastic.  I suppose they could scratch your glasses as the glasses are contacting these protectors.

Thanks. The PowerA stand looks nice. I wish it could charge two DS4 controllers though.

EDIT: quick question, I see in one of the picture, that the "ball" part of the move controller glowing while charging. Is that true? Does that happen with all move controller chargers? If so, I'll have to think about where to place it - I don't want that in my line of sight while watching a movie or something.

Picked up job simulator at gamestop. I had a $5 cert so got it for $15 sealed. Looks like the physical version is becoming hard to find.

Only had mine a few days. The move controller balls do not light up while charging. However, the lightbar on the front of the controller does glow yellow while charging.

So does anyone with Don't Knock Twice know if they patched in locomotion yet, like they said they were going to, or is it still just teleportation?

I haven't got my Skyrim bundle from B&H yet (should be tomorrow, will update), but if they've only changed the usb port, there should still be 2 metal contacts at the bottom, that's for charging on stand. A proper Move Controller (and Navigator) charging stand should use those 2 contacts, not the USB port.

My $8 charging stand for 4 controllers back from PS3 days still working, I was surprised how much they ask for now.

BTW, I've seen some stand for PS3 Move on clearance in Target before BF.
Received the Skyrim bundle today. The micro-usb move controller has the exact same metal contacts at the bottom, so any old PS3 Move using metal contacts should work.

The new headset cable is much thinner and without the hanging audio cable and volume control, the new headset definitely take away some weight and more comfortable and convenient to move. If I have to pay $30 more for the new headset alone, I probably would still do so.

While I really like the new cable design, it's obvious they're trying to cut cost even on packaging.

Opening the old PSVR packaging is like opening a gift, 3 boxes of cables nicely aligned with picture of cables on top. The new packaging has just 1 box on top of the headset for the processing box and cables.

The old processing box has a sliding HDMI cable cover which even though not essential, you can see they put effort in the design.

The new processing box is a plain black box. I notice the bottom has the controller button shaped feet (not sure about the old box) , but they're hard plastic not rubber.

I found out Doom VFR has smooth movement with the AIM gun so I preordered it last night. Can't wait to play it. I really wasn't feeling the teleport movement.

Though it sounds and works strange for player, the teleport movement is to solve most people's nausea problem.

And the nice thing of using Move controllers is you can shoot at one direction while aiming to teleport to the other.

I *do* feel the movement in Farpoint.. but not enough to make me sick. I do understand the issue with those that do. My mom being one.. rush of blood, the first roller coaster drop on the first stage... she quit right there lol. Funny, but also not.

**

Since I see nobody talking about Arizona sunshine.. am I to assume it’s that bad?

Oh I understand why it's there, but i play Rigs & Farpoint just fine. No motion sickness.

Fwiw, the more I play skyrim, the more I love it! IMHO, skyrim vr and the headset alone justify a psvr purchase.

(And this is from someone who already did 200+ hours running 150 mods, figuring its a been there, done that deal.)

Speaking of motion sickness, I experienced my first bout of it playing Eve Valkyrie last night. Happened like as soon as I got free control of my ship and I have up about 15 minutes later. Does that not bode well for stuff like Farpoint and Doom (as I'm excited to check them out)? Was thinking it might be more extreme for Eve since your moving 360 degrees versus walking around.

Seeing that Doom pic made me happy. Can't wait for that game, it's my most anticipated since Farpoint. Super excited.

As far as Arizona Sunshine, I'm on the fence as well. When it first came out I heard the aiming was really bad, the game was super wobbly and it was impossible to hold still to take a shot, not to mention the detection was screwed up. But then I heard they patched it a month or two later, and I haven't really seen any impressions from anyone since the patch. If the aiming is fixed, I'll buy it.

I've played about 90 minutes of the story mode with the Aim controller and had no issues. Lining up long shots is one of the most fun parts so far.

I wonder if they really will based on the comments from people earlier. I've never heard of this site before that deal popped up for two hours.

so... I get an email today saying my Doom VFR order will now be delayed till next week. From Amazon... I completely spaced it that I bought from Amazon and not BB (same $24 though)

Ticked me off, so I fired up the complaint line to Amazon to have them explain what pre-order means to them.... And just got a $15 credit for their screw up.

so I'm getting Doom VFR (late) for about $9.  :D/

Guess i'll drop more time into Farpoint now. (Still my #1 game on the PSVR so far, once i actually get Doom... maybe #2)

Could someone point me in the right direction to the better VR games? I'm getting the Skryim VR bundle soon as a not so much surprise gift, and I know recently a bunch were on sale digitally or from target clearance. I much prefer physical games and truthfully don't ever download games. Very rarely and only if it's an absolute digital only game.

I highly recommend you download both demo discs and try those games out.
But from my experience here are the games i recommend that you can get physically:
Batman Arkham VR
Resident Evil 7 VR
Farpoint and the Aim controller bundle is a must
PS VR Worlds
Job Simulator
Until Dawn Rush of Blood.
There are more for sure but those are what I've been able to play so far.
Unfortunately most PS VR games are digital only because many of them are coming from smaller studios

anyone pick up vr kart? I got it in the mail today and planing on playing it tomorrow. I know its mostly going to be a more simple mario kart type game but i been geeking to play it. The graphic style should be a perfect fit for the psvr and i would love to see more racing games use it,

PS VR Worlds. its great for the price and i very much loved the London Heist.

Farpoint and the Aim controller bundle. i love the aim controller

Batman Arkham VR it make me smile every time i play it

Drive Club VR for the prices i seen on it i think its worth it if you like racing games and its a must buy for now if you have a force feedback wheel.

Wasnt Driveclub VR getting bad reviews? along with GT Sport... VR aspect anyway.

Agree with everything else you said though. I'm seeing more Farpoint/Doom VR shooters being made with Aim controller support, and i'll be buying most of them  :twoguns:

For $7.99 after GCU, I might forgive how poor the graphics DriveClub VR is and the game itself is fine.

I haven't played the original non-VR version, but heard it has stunning graphics and I might prefer that if it's at the same price.

(Using CronusMax with my old G25, the force feedback seems kinda weird compared to GT6 on PS3, have yet to try the wheel on GT Sport)

Driveclub was made to take advantage of the ps4 power. then they converted it to psvr using the same hardware.

I think they did a damn good job for what they had to work with. When cars are like 4 car length ahead of you they do look outdated to kinda silly but the closer they are around you they look pretty good. I think most the bashing on the game comes from people who expect to much from such a low power vr system. i would rather have this then be stuck only doing time trails or 1 on 1 races to improve graphics.
