Moss is actually a pretty good VR game, Skyrim VR is a game with infinite hours of playability but I can 100% guarantee you I am never going to finish playing it in VR, neat for sure, but even being able to handle VR it's not something I want to invest 100 hrs of playtime into for a single title

New VR owner here and this is my thoughts on Resident Evil. Might be to long for me in VR

RE7 is so good and so scary, you need to definitely play through it.

One thing about RE7 too is that at the beginning walking outside and stuff with the muddy textures did bother me as well with motion sickness a little bit.  I think it had to do with the crappy textures and just being outside.  Once you get inside though, the confined spaces made it a bit easier to deal with for me.  And eventually I got to the point where I could play for an hour+ and be fine.  I did use segmented turning too, that helps big time.

Got the Skyrim bundle yesterday. I also have Worlds and Tetris Effect. I have played Ocean Descent, London Heist, Danger Ball and Scavengers Odyssey. Odyssey made me sick so I had to stop playing after only like 4 min. I'm a little bummed the visuals are low-res on all the games and it kind of has like a screen door effect but overall I was impressed.
What are some tips and tricks? Which apps are must have? Any cool movie or VR apps? Like any apps where I can watch movies or Netflix etc in a theater? Any cool demos to download?

I replied to your other post about recommendations here: https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/369106-psn-holiday-flash-sale-ends-1226-11-am-et8-am-pt/page-3#entry14109102

You'll get used to the low-res quality, but some games definitely feel crisper than others (like Astro Bot). Make sure your eye-to-eye measurement (interpupillary distance) is set correctly to make sure you get the best focus (I had to play with it for a bit). The two PlayStation VR Demo discs are must-haves, as well as The Playroom VR and Rec Room (all free). The only movie app I use is Littlstar, but there's a bunch more to check out on PSN (Hulu and YouTube also have VR modes). Have fun.

Oh I awesome dude thanks. I will download the other demo disc from PSN and Rec Room. Do the demos have a rating next to them? I know they are E-M but it would be nice to know before I let my niece or nephew play them so my sister doesn't flip out haha.

The Playroom VR is definitely "E" for everyone will love it. :) The only ones to worry about on the demo discs are the Resident Evil 7 "Kitchen" teaser, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and The Persistence (all for violence).

I have noticed demos for Moss and other games that are on the disc I have are also on the PlayStation store. Are they different? It looks like the demo is 4 gigs on the store so there's no way it's the same short demo on the disc right?

Spent about 8 hours transferring ALL my PS4 games from the internal 2TB hard drive to a new 4TB external, but just now went and looked up the setup schematics (not opening VR until Christmas morning) and it looks like VR uses ALL THREE USB PORTS? How am I supposed to hook up an external drive to play games while playing VR?

Do I have to transfer all the VR apps and games back over to the internal drive now?

Am I missing something? How does everyone else have this set up?

Psvr definitely only uses one USB port. It’s got a little box that has to be plugged in both to a power outlet and to the PS4 via usb. That box also plugs in to the PS4s hdmi port and you will go hdmi out from the box to the tv. Then the headset has dual hdmi that plug in to the box

I'm pretty sure it only uses 2 USB ports because I have a slim PS4 and have one port open for my microusb cable to charge the controller. You can probably hook up a cheap USB hub for some extra ports as well.

Theres only 1 usb needed, its the cord in the front, the cord in the back is the hdmi cable. The camera has a dedicated slot.

What were you playing? Try something easier like AstroBot or Moss.

You have to get your vr legs, wont help anything and might make it take longer if you pish yourself. Take it to the point you are starting to feel uncomfortable then stop, 10 min, 20 min or whatever then give it a couple hour break. Might take a week or so. A fan blowing in your face will help, using the tv for adio helped me at first and not using headset.

Signed in to make sure my QVC Borderlands bundle was still on track to arrive Dec 26. Found out they cancelled my order and never bothered letting me know. Crap! Ah well.

Got my QVC bundle and it had two codes, so double check when you get it.  Best deal of the year on this one.

Update- PS VR newbie.  Played Creed and Doom for first time with my sons 19 and 13 and we were just cracking up and sweating with Creed, wow this thing is cool.  Wish there was a way to hook two up, other than two PS4s, but a possibility.

I played the Astro Bot demo. Awesome!!!  One question though, do I always have to see my controller?  Got kind of annoying.  I see haven't played all of the demos on the first or second disc yet and haven't even booted up Rec room or playground.  Been playing Tetris Effect mostly.  I need to check everything out. So much to do!

Yes you do always see it, and you'll quickly see why - because it turns into a tool for many levels. It also is what "stores" the little guys too so you will see them jump in there and stuff.

Astro Bot is back down to $19.99 on Amazon if you plan to pick it up

Physical only :( I was hoping that the digital version was back to $20 too. I still have my gamestop copy sealed in case the digital drops again before the return period expires.

It always amazes me how completely opposite people are. I only buy physical, never digital. There are VR games I'd love to play such as Superhot, yet can't.

I have owned Farpoint for awhile and my son has played it but it has been in my backlog. I just played it for an hour and I really enjoyed it but I am tired and have a slight headache.

I am mostly physical, but if a huge deal on digital is out there... ill go digital. And i have traded in my physical copy for digital at times also.
New? You bet i want physical. But an older game thats $5 digital on sale and $40 physical.... no brainer.

Farpoint is a great game, but the movement can get to you at times. The more you play VR games the less it will effect you. Only two games have ever had me a little wobbly, farpoint due to the constant moving and Creed due to the same really.
Both were standing games, and required me to do a lot more movement than others. Creed was moving myself, Farpoint was in game movement.
Neither were bad.. just noticable.

I typically prefer physical but will buy whichever is cheaper. That said, for PSVR games, I prefer digital much more for easy switching w/o taking off the headset. For whatever reason, I seem to bounce around between games with PSVR much more than I do with non-VR games where I tend to play one game until completion before starting the next.

I own about 6-7 VR games. For some reason I always hesitate to play them, dragging my feet. I have to move furniture, get out the PC chair from my office on the other side of the house, sit in a specific position for the camera... honestly it's tedious.

Well that's lame. I don't mind seeing it when I find the hidden robots but I found myself putting the dual shock as close to my body as possible to minimize seeing the controller. I'm not sure I would want to play the full game like that. Very odd decision. I haven't read any reviews on the game yet so maybe it's a gripe for many others as well.

I don't notice except when I look down when following the rescued robots or when I am using the controller for a rope/water hose/other function. I hold the controller near my waist when sitting.

I would play a few levels just to see if you can start ignoring it. Astrobot is great fun and it would be a shame to miss out on it

Yeah I dunno. Astro Bot is one of the 2 games I've platinum'd and not once did I think the controller got in the way of anything.

It's not an odd decision at all because as mentioned, it is a tool that is used in many of the levels with attachments.

Late last month, I put the headset on my friend, and popped in this game. He couldn't stop grinning, and absolutely loved seeing the controller there. He made sure his wife got him a headset and this game for Christmas. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, but it's the first time I've heard someone complain about it. I don't think you'll find a review mentioning the controller feeling like an obstacle to the game at all. I hope you can get past it, as it's a fantastic game that shouldn't be missed.
