For those that want the Altair costume, hit the triangle button at the main menu. Don't waste 30 minutes poking around the Ubisoft site like I did. :whistle2:D

Apparently the code 52585854 from GameFAQS is just a "cheat" to be entered in the Options menu and isn't one time use. Time to return my copy and wait for a price drop.

-_-

I'm glad the pre-order code is unique. It's make me choosing that over the Penny Arcade comic worthwhile.

Hmm... While I'm thinking about it, is anyone annoyed that the soundtrack is on a BD movie disc rather than audio CDs or even MP3 or AAC files?

Could you clarify the Altair costume comment? Press the triangle button at the main menu? What part of the main menu, and does it say anything?
Could you clarify the Altair costume comment? Press the triangle button at the main menu? What part of the main menu, and does it say anything?
Sure.

 1. In the lower left hand corner on the main menu it says " Exclusive Content". Hitting the triangle will launch the web browser.
 2. From there you link your PSN account to your Ubisoft account (or create one).
 3. Finally, after account setup/link up, you click on a link that activates the Altair costume.

It's probably easier to setup a Ubisoft account via your computer if you don't have one already.
All thats different about the LE is that it has a special paper box and inside it is the regular game case with plastic on it and a cardboard insert with a blu-ray. The game case doesnt even have a Not for Resale tag on the back like other bundles. I dont even see why Ubisoft bothered in making a regular edition and a limited one as it doesnt feel as if whats included justified it. At least it was a free upgrade. The US got screwed over bc the EU set looks sooo much better
Regular game case with plastic on it? Do you mean to say that the game case is factory sealed and has the regular UPC barcode at the back?

The game comes sealed, my box was also sealed (Mine was from amazon).

yes there is a factory sealed regular PoP with UPC inside the LE paper box

I'm very upset about that. I was hoping for a real soundtrack.

I thought they all came with the digital comic and code...

Anyone here have a picture of what the LM looks like? I mean the total package, I've seen the artwork at Amazon... or somewhere.

I'm curious. I was really excited when I received my copy from Amazon and noticed the game supports 1080p. However, when I play it shows up in 720p. I'm guessing that means it is native 720p, which makes it a bit deceptive to state otherwise on the box IMO.

Anyone else notice this?

It's probably one of those 'turn off 720p, 1080i to get 1080p games' like a few games do. The fact that it supports 1080p is a step up from Ubisoft.

supporting any resolution does not mean actually running at it. I guarantee you none of the big budget, high end graphics, console games this generation will run at 1080p natively. It simply is impossible for this current crop of systems to do it. The jump up from 720p to 1080p is double the number of pixels that the console has to render, that's something most consumer level PCs couldn't handle today at $500.

Also, that 1080i signal piping through at 1080p isn't full on 1080p, it's probably some upscaling going on done either by the PS3 or your TV. In that case there'll be a loss of quality as the game itself isn't running at that speed. There's also a loss of accurate timing, as there'll be a delay in the signal, not good for timing based games.

I doubt that it does. If they are, they'll be sacrificing visual detail in other areas. Wipeout HD is the only higher end 3d game that I know that runs at 1080p, however, for as flashy as it looks, the technical graphics are pretty simple, they mainly rely on their technofuture aesthetic.

WKC doesn't seem to use too many extra texture effects so it's possible it could run at 1080p. But honestly I'd take 720p with better looking graphics overall, rather than a lot more of ugly looking pixels.

that and the geforce 7 era gfx cards are highly obsolete in the pc world. I don't even thinkk you can find one of those in most pc hardware stores.

Just finished the game this morning. Anyone know if there is an alternate ending? That was kinda
depressing. Of course with a trophy entitled "To be continued..." I suppose we can expect a sequel of sorts? My biggest disappointment is that we found out so little about the hero.

And for beating the game, I unlocked a skin for Elika:
Jade from Beyond Good & Evil
, but I'm still missing the final skin for each character. Future DC maybe?

So I just started playing it today, because Amazon finally realized that I live nowhere near Greensboro, NC or Delaware (idiots). I got 12 trophies in like an hour or so. I died like 6 or 7 times, and yes, I said DIED, because that's what it is, no way around it. I haven't died on corrupted areas, but the Warrior did kill me 4 times (I was trying for the Warrior Special Trophy), although I died twice while jumping, and they were my mistakes.

I feel like speedrunning this game. Because I feel it's so smooth, I kinda just find myself going from point to point without thinking. I like it. Sort of a quiet game if you ask me.

The save system is garbage as it never saves exactly where I'm at. I beat the boss in one area and saved before quitting for the night to come back and have to do it over again, though at least I knew how to beat him right away this time.

That has never happened to me. I almost always take a break right after fighting a boss.

BTW guys, don't run from the farthest left zone (while purified) on the map to the next one up (while corrupted) or else your Compass will no longer work. Just saying.

Okay guys, I have completed the fine, fine game. I beat it in a little over 9 hours. And let me just say that
HOLY CRAP! That was without a doubt one of the most emotional endings to a video game I've ever seen. I seriously had trouble comprehending it. It was so sad, yet so...tough.
I would give this game...a 9/10. It might be my GOTY right now because that ending...wow...just...wow.

then you've seen it. Its that LE paper box with the regular edition inside and a plain white cardboard insert with bonus disc. Its nothing impressive

The autosave isnt something worth counting on but the manual save lets you save anywhere anytime. I found it to be pretty good

The manual save can be a bit wonky at times as well though. There have been times when I save after getting the first few seeds after defeating an enemy and I have to go back and get them again. I've never had to defeat an enemy again after saving though.

It was the manual save. I know that because it was 30 minutes after the game's last autosave.

The compass is a bit wonky at times for me, as I'll use it after doing a long platforming sequence to make sure I'm going the right way. It'll tell me I went the wrong way, but I'll end up in the same place when I follow it perfectly, which seems to happen when I take a slightly different route to the same place.

I agree that the compass is a bit wonky for me as well. I went in a circle before I was like...no, screw you beam of light, I'm going home.

It was GameStop exclusive, and it wasn't unique. At least not on the 360 version.

Neither was the PS3 version - in fact it was the same code for both versions.

Argh...I hate this Combo Specialist Trophy. It's so glitchy. Why couldn't Ubisoft put in some sort of scoreboard telling me I've done which combos already?

I really liked the ending. It had a very Shadow of the Colossus feel. Also it's nice to have an ending that isn't all happy. Not to mention a hero who doesn't always make the "noble" choice.

This game is only worth renting IMO. I had it for 5 days and finished it with 44/51 trophies with not much real effort.

It gets pretty repetitive after awhile and some of the controls annoyed me... mainly the turning of cranks (which are used in every puzzle).

Oh and if you want to unlock the Precious Time trophy: (this isn't really a spoiler but you can only do it at the end of the game)
After beating the final boss and you are holding the girl in your arms just wait 1 min to get this trophy.

I really liked the ending, but I guess that's because I did a lot of the conversations, even though I only beat it in about 9 hours.

I didn't really care much for the game... It was repetive and the fight mechanics were just terrible at times. Stunning visuals though, I've never seen lighting effects make me actually go "wow". As for the ending,
i didn't have a major problem with it... it just made the game seem pointless
to me.

How are the trophies? Can you get a majority of them just by playing the game or do you have to hunt them out?

There are only really 4 tough Trophies to get in the entire game: The 2 Bronze Runner Trophies (The Silver ones can easily be done in half the time they want), Combo Specialist, and Be Gentle With Her.

1001 Light Seeds isn't tough at all since unlike most collectibles they give you a semi-vague direction as to where they are.

I'm going to probably try and get all the light seeds. The only ones I probably won't be able to get is the die less than a hundred times and a handful of others. If I'm chasing after all the light seeds and stuff, will I still be able to beat the game in under 12 hours?

No, it's not possible, well...not probable. My suggestion is right before going to the final area, make a save, go beat the game, get that Speed Demon Trophy, reload the save, get the remaining Light Seeds.

Just got the game.
I hate trophies/achievements for doing nothing.

Other than that, really liking it, but of course only just started.

Wow, I just bought the game. It's beautiful to watch, but very annoying to play. Now I understand what everybody meant when the game plays itself. It seems everything is key to the x button. I'm very disappointed, but it seems like it has a good story and I do enjoy the graphics so I'll stick through it, but the gameplay is not doing me any favors by being so simple.

No shit dude. In the first hour I it seemed like a trophy would pop up every 5 minutes.

I agree, but after so many challenging games lately this is actually fitting the bill for something calm that doesn't require my full attention.

I just started this game this morning and after about four hours I'm nearly halfway done, and that's with chatting Elika's head off.

I'm really digging the art style and audio in the game, but the platforming/jumping is a little bit tricky sometimes. It definitely is one of those games that hooks you though, as I want to get back into it as soon as I can.

As of now I would only recommend a rental as there's not much else to go back for. I snagged this for free during Gamestop's B2G1 deal last week and I'm glad I didn't pay $60 for it brand new.

Well, I just finished the game. Throughly enjoyable experience for the most part.

Is it me though, does the game kinda finish like it started :whistle2:s
