OFFICIAL Retail version of Digital Only games Compilation Thread

This thread will list all the different retail version of digital only games on one disk/code. In other words, it will list retail games that come digital only games or multiple digital only games on one disk, whether or not the digital only games is on disk or code, the price, and whatever other notes are necessary. This is only for non-PC games since the PC gaming scene has had an explosion of digital sales through the popularity of Steam and other services, and so retail versions of digital only games are not as “deal-worthy” as the consoles or, even more rarely, handhelds. In addition, Limited/Collector's Editions that are released with digital only alongside with specific games by code will not be included. This thread is merely for the re-release of a game with its digital only games included.

In addition, I will add when necessary retail version of digital only games of games you can import that are region free for systems like the PS3 and will come with the said games on disk or code but only ones that are import friendly. It will not list most PS3 HD collections/remasteres due to the fact that most of these said games are on disk before digital or digital around the launch of said games.

Definitions
I will define some terms to more clearly explain how the digital only games/multiple games on one disk are delivered in each game.
▪ Pre-loaded: The digital only games/multiple games on one disk is on disk and built into the game. It does not require any additional installation.
▪ Install: The digital only games/multiple games on one disk is on disk and must be installed to the hard drive to use.
▪ Code/Voucher: The DLC is downloaded via a one-time voucher or code. Once it's been used, it cannot be reused by another console/Gamertag, and you lose the digital games so to speak.
If there any mistakes, missing info, or anything else that will help improve this thread, please let me know because I want this to be as accurate as possible. In addition, thank you in advance to everyone who submits info and helps make this thread as best as it can be.

I wish the US would get a physical release of Mario vs. DK Tipping Stars. I really want the case. I can import it from the UK, but it's over 30 bucks.

Great thread! It actually helped me add several retail games to my collection catalog. I always and greatly prefer physical over digital.

The formatting needs a lot of work, though. But still, a very helpful thread. Don't listen to the haters.

1) This thread will never load for those who are on mobile on the run

2) You gotta do something about the format. Having all those spoilers and such for each game and then a huge giant box art picture is madness.

Also, there was a page and a half or so of "suggestion" posts prior to mine. Just figured I'd add to it so that hopefully the thread becomes (more) useful.

Unfortunately, I am not that experienced when it comes to formatting, so I contacted kulaguy, who was best know for his great OFFICIAL GOTY/Complete/Ultimate/DLC Edition Compilation Thread to help me out?

 
Besides Amazon UK/Europe.  What would be a good place to order European PS3 games to import/ship to the U.S.?  Wipeout HD looks tempting, even though I have it as a digital copy.

Didn't know Syberia got released on PS3.  U.S.A. Amazon has a placeholder for it, but I doubt it will ever be released.

I've ordered from zavvi and base.com in the past and have had no issues. I initially got the recommendations from other cags who post on the site.

 
Do you guys think I should do a Thread under the working name, multiple retail PlayStation 3 games on one Blu Ray compilation Thread, similar to the OFFICIAL GOTY/Complete/Ultimate/DLC Edition Compilation Thread and the OFFICIAL Retail version of Digital Only games Compilation Thread?

Examples are Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy/Americas Collection/Fighting Edition/Hyperdimension Neptunia Hypercollection, etc, all combine pre existing PS3 retail games on one Blu Ray disc, this does not apply to DLC expansion collections such as Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition/or Download only game collections such as Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1/HD remaster collections such as God of War Collection.

 
Personally I'd remove the word "official". There is nothing official about message board threads unless sanctioned in some capacity. The use of that word in thread titles drives me a little crazy.

I think people put that in titles to try to stop other threads from being made. It's like saying "Hey, ass holes, just use this one, yeah?"

I'm annoyed that they waited all of this extra time to release the physical version of Old Blood And Zombie Trilogy here in the states. I had already imported them, so now I've sold those to get these when they come out.

 
I think it's worth mentioning that the import Resident Evil (Biohazard) Chronicles HD  and Resident Evil (Biohazard) HD Selection (RE4 + CVX) are censored. You can't make zombie heads pop. =(

Also, Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition for X1/PS4 should be added to the list

Lastly , a question: is Monkey Island Collection region free for the Xbox 360 not just PS3? You put pictures of both versions.

Do you know if the Japanese "Playstation 3 the Best" version has English subtitles?

I don't mind censorship, just would like another option, to take into consideration for a physical PS3 copy of RE4/RE:CV HD.

This is a cool topic thanks.

I'd really love physical copies of ape Escape and monkey Island but I don't wanna pay and arm and a leg to import them. Also, gotta keep my eye out for ha k to the future. The disc version had a platinum.
 
I think that the idea of a retail version of digitial games thread is good in theory, but in in practice, there's a fine line between "was originally released as DLC, now is on disk" and "was originally a digital game, now is on disk" so it ends up just becoming a newer duplicate of the Official GOTY/Complete/Ultimate/DLC Edition thread.

(And another game that was a digital only release in the US but an English disk release in Europe is Arcana Heart 3.  However, the updated version of 3, Love Max, did get a disk release in the US)

Has there been any word on if the $20 version of Brothers for XB1/PS4 will be a physical copy?  I tried asking 505 games a few weeks ago but they didn't respond.

 
Slightly off-topic, but every time I see this thread title I just read "Official RETAIL Version" and think its a spam thread about MSRP "deals".  :)

I'm assuming this canceling does not apply to the Helldivers Super-Earth Ultimate Edition that is expected in mid-August here in the United States.

I'm fairly certain it is a physical copy. I've seen it show up for pre-order at a few stores and the artwork they are putting in looks very much like a box cover instead of the usual "digital art" that shows up for digital listings. Some of those stores also sell the game digitally, and the artwork in place is clearly different. I doubt it will be a code in a box since they already have a channel for selling digitally through retail.

505's press release did not specifically say it was a physical release though, but they're kind of small so I can see them dropping the ball on that little detail.

Might get the physical 3DS version. Kind of surprised there wasn't even a digital Vita version.
