Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

I emailed him about that bundle, and he basically said along the lines of 'first come, first serve'. Heh, I dunno if I want to wake up early on a Saturday to take a chance on that deal, though I hope some CAG scores it, and not some hoarder! :D

I second that.
How far is it from Oakland freaky?

It's not too far from where I am, because I'm relatively next to the freeway, and going there would only take me 20-40 minutes depending on traffic. But... it's so early! I noe wanna wayke up! :bomb:

For people going to the Kojima signing at Metreon

Anyone willing to get an insert signed for me? I'm willing to pay/trade for it!

someone in the trading forum is offering their signed copy of mgs4

Got my signed MGS4 ^_^

And I got to shake Kojima's hand. :whee:
How was the line/crowd?
wondering the same thing too. I almost left at 1:00 but I figured there was probably a ton of people there already.

Where were you in line? I was in the first 20 people, got there way earlier than I needed to. I thought there would of been more people waiting the night before.

It wasn't bad at all, I must say. It didn't get bad until a few hours before the signing. At around 11am there were roughly 170-180 people waiting in line(I went down the line and counted).

I didn't like the set up they had inside though. It was horrible if you wanted to take pictures because of the light contrast behind them. Also, the employee's were inconsistent in what they said about getting stuff signed. For the longest time(before we went in the store) they said we could only either get a gun metal PS3 signed or an MGS4 insert they provided. They couldn't be more confusing when we went inside though. Basically, I ended up getting an insert signed instead of the LE i brought, but later saw people walking out with other stuff signed.

By 1pm the line was pretty damn long. It went down the entire street and wrapped around the block.

Did everyone in that line get something signed? I'm curious since the signing was listed to only be 2 hours right?

I'd definately have to say that 2 hours for any "Signing" gig is lame... Even though I was at the 75% point of the line when it ended, I'm pretty sure another 3-1/2, 4 hours would've taken care of the line. I wonder why Sony or Konami only had 2 hours alotted... Oh well... Brought some stuff... My PS3 MGS 80G Box, an unopened MGS3:Subsistence, the "sagas", Policenauts, MGS: Ghost Babel(GBC), and the PSP back plate of MGPO.

BTW, Meryl looked hot.

Got my LE and my MGS Transparent Acetate Solid Snake card signed!!!

I also shook their hands, but then I had to wash them afterwards because the tables at Metreon were dirty T_T
Nice!
Thanks!

That Meryl wasn't hot...but wasn't ugly either. Did an excellent job on the costume too!

You need to get out of the first area before it starts picking up. You really need to get a feel for things before you get into it. I remember the first time playing it on PS1, me and my friend didn't know what the hell was going on.

So yesterday was one really humid day. Hot dry wind does not feel good. I was at 24 hour fitness from 10PM to midnight last night. The pool was packed and sorta gross looking haha. Gorgeous night though and the moon was insanely bright. Caught a couple hours of sleep to open up the health club I work at around 4:45 and its already hot right now.

You need to stick with Metal Gear games for a couple hours just to get the hang of it, especially MGS3. They're great once you get over the learning curve, though. MGS3 is probably my favorite PS2 game.

My weather widget is saying high of 87 today, compared to its prediction of 97 from last night. I really want to believe it. :hot:

MGS3 has a really steep learning curve, especially compared with MGS2, which I found pretty simple to just pick up and play.

My weather widget (which involves looking outside) says it'll be low 80's and perfect. Oh, but that's because I'm up at Tahoe and Tahoe's amazing :)

You suck. :p

It hasn't snowed for a while now, right?
I wanna go to Tahoe... I've actually never been there.
Really? I went twice...and I found it boring :/
But then again, it was only to the Casino's. I find Reno more interesting, but that's just me.
Is everyone in the Bay Area big on Yelp? I don't post there myself, but I admit I will often look there when I know I'm going somewhere. Theres a lot of funny stuff on there.

Saturday night I'm suposed to be going here http://www.yelp.com/biz/slide-san-francisco Some of the reviews were hilarious.
That place sounds like it sucks :/ Make sure to take an even amount of girls/guys.

Slide sounds like fun, especially when your in a drunken rage.

That reminds me, I noticed the Mattress Discounters in Menlo Park has a huge sign in the window saying "we deliver to Lake Tahoe." WTF? Seemed like a random thing to advertise.

Yelp is usually pretty good. I'm considering registering there just because I got totally burned (not literally) at this local sandwich place and I wanted to call them on it. They will feel my Internet fury!

I've actually been on Yelp to look for other Chinese Food joints, because the one nearest me is absolutely absymal... cold chow mein, you get the idea.

If you're in San Leandro area, have you guys ever been to Asia Delight Chinese Fast Food... I think they have the best Chinese Food in the area (along with Jasmine's), though their food is a bit greasy... but frankly, what Chinese Food isn't? ;)

EDIT: I was actually looking on Yelp just now, and I had noticed my local Taco Truck on there! A frickin' Taco Truck!

I guess Amazon is a good deal... Their 80gb iPods are on sale for $237.00 (MSRP is $249), and they ship free... and no taxes. That's if you're buying new.
There are merchants that are selling 'like new' iPods for $200, though you should check their online ratings before buying from them.
What about B & M?
I don't know of any B&M deals for iPods, sorry. :whistle2:#
There may be coupons, but they'll probably exclude iPods... :'(

I'd also go with Amazon because of the no tax/shipping, but personally I'd avoid a refurb because who knows what condition it's in. You want to get one with a brand new battery if you can. Mine's three years old and it only plays for 3-4 hours between charges.

I'm also just wary because an Amazon merchant sold me a knockoff phone battery recently. :bomb:

Edit: It's pretty rare to see B&M deals on iPods outside of big sales like Black Friday. Fry's might give you a free case or something, though, and you definitely want a case so it doesn't get scratched up instantly.

That sucks man... did you ever tried to get a refund? :whistle2:(

The battery should actually be getting back to them any day now. Hopefully the refund shows up soon. Then I'm ratting them out.
What was the black friday ipod sale?
They were cheaper? :D I dunno. I just meant it's pretty rare that stores offer them than for less than MSRP.

Me and my cousin went 2 years ago and when he bought a Nano at BB for regular price, they gave him a gift card (it was either $25 or $50). I forgot what last years' deals were.

The heat is too much! :hot:

It doesn't help that I'm moving to a new location and the lifting and sorting with this heat does NOT mix.

I was gonna ask what games you guys are playing at the moment?

I'm still working on Dragon Quest VIII and enjoying the time I can put into it. I got other stuff but this is currently occupying my time.

What about you guys? :D

I'm going to try a no alerts/kills run of MGS4 (on Solid Normal because I'm not crazy) and try some MGO. I just picked up Arkanoid DS today so that'll be my portable game for a while. I needed a break from FF3 because I got stuck.

Just finished MGS4 yesterday. Going to finish DBZ: Burst Limit (just started Cell saga) and Tales of Innocence (just got Ricardo to join)
