Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

Went to Serramonte's Circuit City. Was looking to get FF4 with the gift card, but it looked like they ran out. In consolation I did pick up Obscure (Wii) for only $13.50. They also have NiGHTS as well, but I didn't get it up since I doubt I'll like it.

There are about two or three of each left. Didn't see any Smooth Moves, although I didn't look for them very hard.

Just got back from my first Garlic Festival. Had some garlic fries, garlic popcorn, garlic jelly, garlic pretzels, and, of course, several flavors of garlic ice cream. Also bought some garlic lollipops but didn't try them yet. I would have loved to just stay there all day and eat crazy stuff, but it was so HOT. :hot: Some of the people I was with were about to pass out.

I probably smell pretty good right now.

OMG! My friend went to the Garlic Festival as well, I'm gonna have to give him a mint or two when I see him pretty soon. :)

How was the garlic ice cream metaly? Garlicy? ;)

Garlic ice cream was surprisingly good, or at least not horrible. It was just sort of sweet and then surprise! Garlic. There was also a garlic almond one which was amazing because I love almond-flavored stuff. Also by that time I had eaten so much garlic that all I could taste was the almond flavor.

A couple photos:

The garlic fries after the top layer of fries had been eaten, revealing the dangerous levels of garlic beneath.

Best tie-dye ever!

That garlic is just...excessive. :bouncy:

But garlic is ever so good...

I was thinking about going to the festival but is there a fee to get in?

What's everyone doing at the moment? I'm awaiting my IDE HDD for my PS2.

That and playing FF4 and some Hot Shots Golf 2 in between. For those playing FF4, isn't kinda cheap that weak enemies like shells and imps are dealing 40+ dmg? Is that their idea of making the game hard?

--Michael

^ I do agree, SE has made the monsters a bit too strong in dealing damage... but, I'm teh biased when it comes to this game... I still like it very much, since it's like, my favoritest game of all time.

BTW, I'm playing it now... I just met Palom and Porom. :)

Yeah, it was $12 just to get in, which surprised me. They said they donate it all to charity, so that's cool.

Finished Assassin's Creed earlier and just started up FFTA2, which is pretty great so far. I'm really impressed by how good the game looks and sounds compared to the GBA version. The DS still manages to surprise me. :)

Garlic is so good...... Had some Garlic fries at a Giants game.
FFTA2 was good when I first played it, then the repetitive missions just got to me and now its in my backlog.

:drool::drool::drool:

Damn, those are good. Been years since I've had them, but I still remember how good they tasted.

Is the Nickel City you're talking about down in South San Jose somewhere? I haven't been there in ages.

As for Power Stone 2, I scored a copy for my Dreamcast for $5 last week. I'll have time to play it...someday.

Can't wait for Soul Calibur IV tomorrow. I'm getting mine at Gamecrazy and I'm hoping I can score a PS3 faceplate in the process.

I didn't order the 360 version. I did order the PS3 one. Is it a decal then? I'm not really sure. I'm really cool with the manager so I'm hoping he can hook me up with both if he could. We'll see.

I used to go to the Nickel City off Camden in San Jose all the time. It kept getting more and more run down and ghetto every time I went, though. The last time I was there it seemed like half the stuff I wanted to play was broken. We had some good times there, though. My friends and I beat Time Crisis 3 co-op for probably a dollar each. :)

I'm so looking forward to getting SCIV today. Hate the fact that its been sitting in the back at gamestop this whole weekend. I COULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING IT.... what does a store have to loose from releasing a game early? They have it why not sell it, they already payed for it dangit.

I remember when gamestop would bend the rules for tuesday releases and sell them monday if they had them in. Now everyone's so anal. :(

And now for something different

Mighty Muggs, any of you collect them? I'm just starting but these loveable pieces of plastic art are awesome.

I got my SCIV PS3 copy at Gamecrazy today. I used some credit that I had and it only came to $1.64.

I visited another Gamecrazy and I got a Xbox360 Yoda faceplate for free. It was cracked however  but I can super glue it back to normal.

All in all, not a bad day. My friend also got back from the San Diego Comic-Con and hooked me up with a Little Big Planet bag full of goodies. Can't wait to peek what's inside.

--Michael

I just bought my copy of SCIV PS3 too man! The game is awesome. :D
Civickid, expect a PS3 friend request coming your way! That way I can one day challenge you with Raphael!

You're pretty good with Raphael, freaky. I just couldn't pick myself up off the floor during that last match. :cold:

I almost need to re-learn Xianghua because they completely changed her 3+B and 9+K... two of my favorite moves!

I wish I could play while this firmware update crawls along.

Yeah, some of Raphael's moves changed as well... I wasn't expecting the change, to be honest. But I guess I've have to relearn his moves as well. It's been months since I've played any SoulCalibur so I'm a bit rusty... but we'll get better, right? ;)
Good game btw, metaly. Those were some really close matches. :)

Wh-wait...There's a firmware update?

Feel free to add me guys.

Once I get my TV and PS3 from Tracy to over here in Sunnyvale, then I can play my PS3 more.

Heck, I can play my PS3 and Wii more. Did any of you guys get that Blastworks deal from Best Buy yesterday? They were only selling it for $9.99! However, I think today, they re-adjusted the price to $19.99.

--Michael

Palo Alto Fry's had about 3 Wiis in stock as of 6 PM. First time I've seen one in a store. Anyone here looking to get one?

And SC4 is excellent.

btw looks like Sunnyvale and Milpitas Golfland got Tekken 6. Seeing how the arcade game didnt get a US release it would be good idea to check it out

Dam I went to Golfland last Tuesday and it didn't have Tekken 6. Isn't it sort of weird how it has Waterslides and Mini golf?
So, what do you think of SF3 so far, becuase how I am going to get a 360 soon and I love SRPGs.

First of all it doesnt have horrible loading time like the other idea factory psp games. Graphic wise it is probably more like a ps2 game. To be fair it was out 2 years ago in Japan. Just finished the second battle so I cant common too much. The battle system is a bit like stella deus where you uses AP to move. It doesnt have the humor of a NISA RPG, but the story seems to be solid so far. For the price you could get 2 or 3 PS2 SRPG, but this game got so little hype I could see it being hard to find later on.
I see, but I hear SF3 and Operation Darkness were both crap, so what's the point of owning a crap game even if it is rare?
I am not sure where you heard Spectral Force 3 is crap. It is a solid SRPG with good replay value, and most of the complains are about the PS2ish graphics and Atlus charigng $60. It doesnt help that NISA is smart enough to sell Disgaea 3 for $50.

As for OD once you get the system you can download the demo and find out yourself.

Well, yeah I can't really say i am basing this off people's opinions and reviews which you can't trust all the time. Well 62t when you get further into the game tell me how it is.

Leafpanda: I notice you've been blasting through your RPG stuff. Good deal. I'm STILL working on Dragon Quest VIII and now, I've dabbled with a little bit of FFIV for the DS.

On a non-related RPG note, I went down to Gilroy today for a baby shower. After that, I checked out the outlets and nothing really major except for Fire Pro Wresting Returns for the PS2 for only $9.99.

I'm gonna get more games tomorrow to load up on my HD Loader. Man, Dragon Quest VIII is loading so fast...

Well I'm not actually finishing all these games most of them I haven't finished yet because I'm stuck or got bored, but P3 FES has the social links that give you a break and give you a choice whether or not if you want to dungeon crawl.

No, no one said anything... of course not! :^o

...

I know this sounds strange, but did you hear about Final Fantasy VII being released at Best Buy in a week or so?... there's a thread about it in the PS3 forums. ;)

I think I saw that on Kotaku or somewhere. It sounds like it's just a massive screwup by whoever does Best Buy's signage.

Or it could be a stealth launch of an FF7 remake for the PS4!! Run for the hills! :whee:
