Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Checked out the local sears by the office, no new drops as of yet. Viking was still 14.97, Comdemned 2 and Quake Wars were still 9.97. Still on June price tags. Probably rare that any of the price drops will occur before this Friday, but with my local sears so close it was worth a shot.

Also, thanks for all the help on clearance pricing riccaboni! If there is anything anyone on the board can do to help you out getting us some clearance prices, let us know! I'm not really sure what your methods are for checking new clearances (do you actually have a list, or are you just scanning the games you have in the case/on the sales floor), but we could probably put together a UPC sheet for you to check during your down time. Of course, I wouldn't ask this of you if it would further put your job in jeopardy, so let us know!

FYI, Kane and Lynch is currently $5 at TRU, if that's cheap enough for you.

Civ Rev - 360 ($10)

Will most likely return if they don't drop within 30 days.

I took a copy over to the self-scanning machine on Monday, and it still came up at $14.97 then. So I think it really depends on whether the individual store has processed the drops yet or not.

Is the game even worth $5 when it drops to that? I've seen some pretty bad reviews.

I checked Viking and K&L:DM @ my local Sears, Viking :ps3:: $15 and K&L:DM:ps3:: $9.97 (and yes I price-checked/scanned).

How's K&L:DM if I play it more on a single-player note? I would bite on it at ~$2-5. Is co-op also online?
 
No online Co-Op.

Gameplay is pretty crappy, but the story, settings, and 2 protagonists make it worth a play through.

I got it for $7-$8 @ TRU and didn't regret it.

I can't believe how picky people are. For $5, even if you are just a little bit interested, buy it! I have been surprised lately how much I've liked games that have been considered "bad". Maybe I'm just easy to please.

Also, they must've sold enough copies to make a profit because I heard a sequel is coming out.

Reviews for it were pretty crappy but I personally liked the game. Single Player is good and cover system takes a bit to get used to but once you do the game is pretty darn fun. Both Kane and Lynch are very cool characters for a video game. Hopefully one of the next games will concentrate on Lynch's psychological. The game is best when played with another person in local co-op mode. Online is pretty fun too but I don't know how the online community will be now since it is not a very new and popular game. Very much worth it for $5 but since I already beat it in a rental it would have to be lower for me to add it to my collection. Sorry for such a long wall of writing :)

Eh, honestly, I've got too big of a backlog (and I'm running out of storage space) to make it worth blowing even $5 on a crap game. I've gotten some great games for $5, and I'd even take an ok one if it offers something different that the other games in my collection don't, but a crap game isn't worth the money, time, or space.

And I agree, I've got some games that have been considered "bad" which I think are great -- which is why I'm bothering to ask rather than just skipping it entirely. But some "bad" games really are bad!
 
Do you have to ask a sears associate if its on sale. Or is it posted on the actual game. I just went and only saw 2 games that had a posted "sale" price. I didn't see Warhawk bundle which is what i was hoping to find.

Viking is pretty good fun IMHO, I got a disc only copy for $6.99 from Blockbuster a while ago. Decent hack n slash type gameplay, very bloody, you can chop enemies in half if that does it for you.

The prices on the games are often wrong, you have to get the actual game scanned, even if the employees try to argue with you that the price is correct, they are usually wrong. Warhawk went on clearance a while ago and will probably be impossible to find unless you find a sears with nearly zero traffic.

Hey, "Zoo Keeper" for the DS was $2, and I still passed. I've been bitten before, and while it only bites $5 hard, I still *hate* when it happens. Oh, and for the record? Buy "Gunpey" for the PSP at your own peril, so matter *what* the price is. It's just cursed-of-God bad. Really.
 
Went to my local Sears and either a hoarder or Sears employee noticed the drops because they were wiped clean of EVERY game clearnaced. They only had some accessories left (bad ones too).
 
Nothing at my local Sears. They didn't do any price drops yet. Everything still had JUN stickers on them, and they are usually on the ball.

Um, they had it on CLEARANCE a year ago? Isn't it still sold like EVERYWHERE? Haha, was this like at one store, or was it like a certain model or something? Cause there are DEFINITELY many of those at my Sears....

To me, that is 'turn-based' and is utter crap in the same breath, which is why I used the copy I bought from a further Sears for the Fight Night Round 4 deal from GS.

And judging from the other little remarks, I guess I'm not liked by some for doing exactly what my custom user title says, huh? Oh well, no big loss for me.

That's right, I picked up some crazy deals at the Sears Grand in West Bend, WI. I scored two Xbox 360 HDD w/ data transfer kit for $49 each! Also picked up a TivoHD or $98....crazy clearance

Not disparaging it (or you) at all. I was more going to the point of "dirt cheap isn't necessarily a good reason to buy a game". Cheap doesn't equate to "worth it" any more than expensive does. Quality doesn't always mean a high or low price. When you get a crappy game, though, even when it's dirt cheap, it still bites.

Granted, I haven't spent a lot of time playing it, and it has been a little while now (not that it's bad -- it just kinda got pushed aside because I got a few games that I wanted to play more and I haven't gotten back to it), but I don't remember the game ever "taking over". In fact, I found the combat in it to be one of the most interesting uses of the Sixaxis motion control that I've seen (and one of the very few times where I've not felt that the limitations of it hamper the game). There are a few menus for assigning abilities to buttons on the controller, but they don't perform the actual tasks.

Are you sure you're not thinking of something else entirely?

It could be, since I didn't actually play it myself. However, I still feel that the SixAxis motion control is a gimmick at best and I definitely like games that have the option to turn OFF those portions of the game(like Heavenly Sword, for example).

It's fine if you have a haul, but tons of other people are looking for some of these games. How about offering them up for trade/sale here for a REASONABLE price before flipping them?

I admit when I first joined CAG, I hoarded the ever living shit out of guides and routinely went out of my way to find some, but after figuring out they're worth bupkiss due to the market being flooded just after a drop, I almost completely stopped.

Not to mention that a reasonable price here would probably be more than you'd get in trade, but less than people would pay buying that used copy at Gamestop. Offering them up here means that everybody wins (well, except Gamestop, and they don't deserve it anyway).

And you know there are some people that just want something and that stores has it so they go there.. If I want something I usually will go to Gamestop simply because of the variety in games that you dont find in larger retail stores.... An no im not the fucktard who will pay $18.99 for a used title if its $19.99 new...

It's just all the chatter which clutters up every thread anything EB/GS is annoying simply because people are getting to damn anal... Im sorry but I usually will go B&M before I go online because usually I want something and its because I want to play it so I will go to EB/GS to get it because they have it and if im saving a buck or two online in usually making it up in shipping then its shipping time and hoping it gets to me intact..

People have 100% control B&M shopping especially at EbGs because the product is there and if your buying used you can find a complete copy and even ask to see the disc...

I dont know to me they are not any worse then any other retailer out there and people have the choice to where they want to shop so if they shop at EB/GS that does not make them any less of a person because the made the choice people are not taken hostage and dragged in there...

I dont know over time it just seems like this is alot of bandwagon bashing and its so funny to see people bash the hell out of EB/GS yet be first in line for deals or to find and exploit some loop hole in the Trade System...

The mini rant is kind of justified, in that you enjoy the convenience and while it is true that you can check discs in store and have it right then and there, what happens if that store's stock is total shit and you can't find a single good copy?

How many more GS stores do you go to before you say enough is enough and go online to buy?

I'll admit that I've exploited some deals from GS(tiered trade deal that coincided with the HWV last gen $4 sale, FNR4 trade deal), but compared to the normal game clearances they're few and far between.

I don't need to play the latest and greatest and I can afford to be picky and bide my time since I have a backlog as it stands, but for those who can't wait that's fine too. Those of us who CAN wait will just get the better deals 90% of the time, but without the early buyers there would be no used/cheap games TO buy.

So thanks, from all of us.

360 Blacksite Area 51 4.97

Was stickered 14.97 May, but may have been 9.97 in June. Anyway, I played a little bit of it on PS3 and it's worth $5.
