Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Oblivion GOTY edition for $9.97 is a steal of epic scale. MGS Portable Ops + for $.97 also looks great, been looking for a new PSP game. Just don't like that the nearest Sears is a bit far away.
 
Just got back from another Sears store. By far the worst Sear's I've been to, in terms of clearance games, but also games in general. I scanned a couple of games and all were coming up fool price, even some that dropped a while back. I also scanned a few accessories, but they were all ringing up fool price. They did have a ton of Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles, but I didn't price them because they were :ps2: and I don't have one.

When I was getting ready to leave I did find Elebits, so I went ahead and grabbed that. It was $9.xx but I've been looking for it for a while and can never seem to find it, so I just gave in :roll:
 
I noticed that is a big issue with Sears. They never have any solid gaming stock, their electronics manager needs to be fired...every electronics manager in the US actually.

Most of the Sear's I've been to, in Ohio as well as Florida, have had pretty good stocks of games. The Sear's I go to in Florida has a case full of games and then the whole bottom of the case is filled with extras, plus the clearance bin. The Sear's I went to in Ohio most often had two cases of games for each system and close to another case for the clearance stuff and the bottom of all the cases were stocked full as well. I never checked prices on stuff there, but I'm pretty sure they had a bunch of discounted games, just not marked.

The Sear's I went to today, didn't have anything in the bottom of the case, except for one PS2 and the sticker hanging up for a PS3, still marked at $399, though I didn't see any in stock.
 
Found Wii Puzzler Collection for $1.97, don't know why this store had it cheaper than the $4.97 from the recent clearance list, but no complaints from me.

Sooo...September drops coming soon? :) Just kidding, kinda. We had a lot of stuff drop to 1.97 and 4.97 last time, but there didn't seem to be much new stuff coming in at 14.97/19.97, hopefully there will be a new "wave" of clearances in the next update.

I did see one of the 360 Karaoke revolution bundles with a microphone for $31.97, so that's a contender for cheapness when/if it drops over the next few months.
 
I went to the Sears inside the Albany Mall in Albany, GA yesterday. They had a lot of games left.
I got Quake Wars and Blacksite Area 51 for $4.97 each.
I then noticed another section of games that was their "clearance" section.
It had Guitar Hero 2 bundle and Battlefield Bad Company.
Guitar Hero 2 rang up $29.99 and Bad Company was still $19.99.
They did have about 10 copies of Blue Dragon for $4.97, but I'm still not sure about the game as I do not like turn based rpgs.
I am kicking myself for not getting Ninja Gaiden 2 for $9.97

It's all done by corp., we have no control over it.

Sears can be a pretty good place to find something when its out of stock everywhere. People around here just go to Sears for the clothes and appliances and don't think to go there for games, so if you need something and its hard to find in your area might want to check Sears they might just have it. Gaming stock is not bad around here, they seem to get most popular new releases, although they don't get every new release which is understandable.

haha thanks for having my back.. but i just realized that the GOTY edition would be coming out w all the dlc ($50 worth) from what ive heard?... so even getting this for $20 now although a decent deal, will not be such a hot deal in a little while... cause in the end it would cost me $70 vs the $60 or less for the GOTY so its all good

im not a huge rpg person anyway but people seem to dig fallout3 so i figured id check it out.. i have enjoyed mass effect for example from what ive played
 
Went to my local Sears on a whim and was bummed to find the Clearance section all organized and full of more PS2 games I wasn't interested in. No cheap games to be found accept 1 Viking. Then walking through the isles I saw a box with random electronics and a stack of games. A sales guy came by and said those weren't for sale cause they were going back to the distributor. I asked him to ask the manager if I could buy them...score!

Found these at a local Sears a few days ago:

Lost Odyssey $2.97
Kane & Lynch (PS3) $4.97
Command & Conquer 3 (X360) $4.97

They also had quite a few Eye of Judgement's for $19.97 each. Everything else was gone from this Sears. This location used to have everything mixed with no price updates, but have since created a Clearance aisle with everything from the electronics department. Too bad it didn't stay hidden....

True, but if you had been successful, you could probably rent the GotY edition with the extra content and just rip the dlc to your hdd while still keeping the reg. edition disc.:D

That's what I plan on doing, if it will work like it did for Oblivion.

I'm not waiting 2-3 days for the new drops in September, like I did last month. Need to get there on 9/1, because I think my store got hit hard during this month's drop (either that, or they didn't have shit to begin with).

thanks for the tip! if i do come across a cheap copy ill consider that... otherwise i got enough of unopened games to hold off until i can find the goty for $5 at sears haha.. hey who knows it could happeenn
 
Oblivion GOTY rang up for 24.xx at my Sears :(

I was able to score Folklore, Bioshock, Haze, Condemned 2, and Stranglehold though so I guess I made out like a bandit.

Too bad someone had already bought the last copy of Heavenly Sword.

Picked up Eye of Judgement for $19.97 (marked $29.97). Everything else in NW Ohio was picked over or gone.

Sorry if this a dumb question, I found a 120 gb xbox 360 hard drive at my Sears but it was in the glass case and it was hanging under a label of $149.99, is that how you guys find them and get them at $50 or $80 or whatever, or are they usually marked at the clearance price?

Edit: Does anyone know the UPC for the 120 gb hard drive? I can't find it.

Ask the salesperson to take it out of the case and scan it. Or get the UPC and use the self-scanner.
 
Alright I found the UPC, now it says in the first post to use UPC A, the UPCdatabase site doesn't work and on the other one all I see are: UPC / EAN, UPC / EAN short height, UPC-E, UPC-E short height, EAN-8, EAN-8 short height, and text generator. So which do I use?
 
I'm getting pretty excited to head over to Sear's again in September. I went on August 10 to Sear's and they had basically every thing that was on clearance. I didn't find anything like Bioshock, but Folklore, Eye of Judgement, $2 DS games, etc. were all there. A few stragglers are still left, like the $15 360 chargers and a couple of the less popular $5 PS3 games, I think a few 360 games for $5 and a couple of PSP games were left over when I went this week.

Now, I just need to figure out when to go in September. It will be a little difficult to get there on the 1st, but I'm questioning if my store was behind doing the markdowns and that was why they had so much of the stuff still there, or if the people in my area were just a little behind getting to it. When I went back a couple days later, most of it was gone.

I believe I've read in the posts that the most common day for Sear's to markdown is on Monday. So, does that mean I shouldn't expect the deals to start until the second week of September since the 1st is on Tuesday, or will they get the new prices and choose to update them whenever?

I'd love to be able to get there and see all the price drops again because they had a lot of great deals. I left most of them thinking they wouldn't be games I would like and when I decided they were worth a try for the price, they were gone, so I'm hoping to have better luck in September :D

do the discounts only show up when they ring them up on the register?
i've been to a couple of sears and come up empty on discounts when i asked for price checks, but i never actually had them ring me up on the register.

have them scan it and while they do that watch the price monitor or the monitor they're looking at. i usually go to the ones where its setup much like an office desk and no counters so i can see the price clearly. if the game is reported on clearance its most likely on clearance though the price may vary. in rare occasions there are regional markdowns and clearance if the game comes up as full price (end with .99).

Maybe the employees who were doing the markdowns grabbed everything you were looking at? But if it was all stuff that was properly marked, maybe some normal shmoes came in and grabbed everything?

What I've found you have to do is grab those items you really, really want or might want when they drop lower. Then, you just go in once the prices are supposed to have dropped and return/rebuy.

Mind you, sometimes they won't let you immediately rebuy after returning the games, but most times around here they simply put them back in the case/clearance bin.

All the stuff was marked correctly. I have only found one game there that was on clearance that they didn't have marked. I still check things I'm most interested in, but only one time something rang up for less, since it is all the way across the store to the scanner and all the employees stare at me like I'm going to rob them it is kind of nice to have things correctly marked (except when I can't get there right away after markdowns of course :D ) So, I'm assuming it was just every day people that came across them and grabbed them all. Of course, I've learned from my mistake now and will grab anything I'm questioning and then return if I don't want it.

I've not done a return rebuy yet, I will only do that on something I really, really want, mostly because returning to the Sear's (and most stores) here is kind of a nightmare.

I will probably just go on the 7th to see if they have the prices updated. That way if they are late I should be okay. They still have quite a few games left for $5 and $10 when I went today, so I should be able to grab a few things if they do get it done this Monday, just not be able to get every thing that is dropped.

I've only been to 3 different Sears to look for games and they all had Endless Ocean, One of them had 3. Any one see all the copies that NorAm has put on Ebay? Three separate auctions with 10 or more copies available, last time I checked. Alot of them NEW...rewrapped trade ins from Amazon, I gotta think. They've really driven the price for those "NEW" copies down.
 
Picked up Bioshock for PS3 for 9.97. the employee there knew I was a CAG, and was shocked he missed that one himself. He called like all other Sears in the area for it another copy haha. Also found Rockband 1 SE for 59.97. Id like it, but its still too much..do you guys think its a good enough deal to pick it up?

I think it's still a bit expensive compared to Kmart's $17 and Target's $3x.xx. (Although that was quite a long while ago) I would wait for the next drop or two since more of these huge music game bundles will be released and take up space, the older ones will most likely further plummet in price.

I don't think Sep. is going to be all that great for Sears drops; there seem to be very few games in the 14.97/9.97 range that are ready to drop to $5...I mean, PS3 Fantastic Four and Brothers in Arms, eesh. Hopefully there will be a fresh clearance wave starting, with new $24.97 and $19.97 games.

What's weird is that I never found any of these games at my Sear's prior to them dropping to $5 for the PS3 and 360 games and $2 for the DS games. I'm not sure if they had them in the back all the times I was there or not. They seem to either have games at or close to full price, or around the $5 to $10 range (for PS3 and 360) nothing much in between.

This was my first experience with the Sear's price drops, I wasn't really aware of how they handled them, so it was exciting to see and actually find most of the games at the low price, which isn't very common for me. I was hoping to get the same experience again, but actually get the games this time :roll:

If I don't find anything, I won't be too upset (it won't be the first time) and I won't make a special trip over there just to find cheap games, but, if I do find some good deals it will be means for :bouncy: At the very least they may drop the Eye of Judgement kit. They only had one since the beginning of August and it is still there, but I'm pretty sure one of the full price cameras has disappeared (they are locked in, so I'm thinking that it wasn't stolen) I normally don't buy these camera things, but if it is cheap enough I may get one, I think some trophies require it and if I get all but a handful of trophies because I don't have the "Eye" I wouldn't be a happy gamer, since I tend to be a completionist, I would probably be one of the crazy people to buy it at full price :roll: But then, I will probably never get all the trophies in a game anyway, so I don't have to worry too much :D

Someone bought the only copy of Heavyly Sword I've been sniping for awhile =( Found Oblivion GOTY but still $25, vision cam still 19.97.

Didn't know they were selling re-wrapped games. That's shady. I've only bought one game from them (Tetris DS) and it didn't appear to be rewrapped.
 
they suddenly took interest when they found out about its value. they paid everyone $26.xx to trade those games in but they are selling them not only on ebay but on amazon as well. they magically found 80+ new copies of the game? i dont think so. stay away from NorAm guys. they are bad news.

I found New Zealand Story for the DS for 1.97 but it was in the case and again, there were 2 associates that looked like they most definitely didn't want to help me and were talking to other customers, so I didn't even buy it. Probably a crap game anyways. I am not sure why they would lock up a 1.97 game when there were plenty of other games out there for $20 or more.

Clothes were really, really cheap with the extra 40% they are running, at least for womens clothing. I got a pair of jeans for $2.99. Nice ones too. Most womens clothing items on the clearance racks were 9.99 or less. Is Sears clothing running gargantuan lately or is it just me? I had to size down 2 full sizes just to get a pair of jeans that fit which I found a bit strange.

Actually, I have this game and find it to be a lot of fun. I bought it from Kmart for $10 last December or so and it is great. It is kind of like an older style arcade game, with a little bit more modern look to it. It isn't overly challenging and it isn't too long either, but for $2 it is a steal. If it is there next time you go back, I highly recommend getting it, if that type game interests you. I thought it would be terrible as well, but for $10 thought it would be worth a try and I was very surprised how much fun I actually had with it.

Yeah my backlog is massive plus all the things I picked up during yard sales this summer so I am not too worried about it. I probably should have gotten it but if I go back and its still there I will pick it up.
