Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Is Sears Grand a outlet store for Sears? I went there after work and they had Fear for the PS3, but it was $39.99. :wall:They had a couple other games, but the all scanned at regular price. :headache:

Sears Grand are the "deluxe" versions of the stores. Most in my area were K-Marts that got completely remodeled.
 
I'm not sure where they all of a sudden came from, but two of these all of a sudden showed up out of no where:

Same thing with the Sears Grand by me, it used to be a dead dirty Kmart and they switched now its clean and has fairly decent employee's.

I just love the look on the old lady cashier's faces when you take a game up to them that has a $39.99 or more Price tag and it Rings up for $4.97 or less...

They almost look hesitant and they then proceed to talk about how great of a deal it was with everything being do expensive now ;)

My store actually has no glass cabinets. Everything is one the shelves, if its a bigger ticket game its in those personal protectors (little plastic shell thing). i mean everything sits out consoles included, its kinda weird
 
Some sears i have gone to have newer games in a glass cabinet, in which the bargain games have been out in the open and some other sears have had newer games in personal protectors, in which case the sears with personal protectors, i have not found a single deal on a game for some reason, only the stores with glass cabinets, just random luck i guess.

They were about $53 at my Sears on Tuesday.
 
I find clearance games in the locked cabinet all the time, but you have to know the titles ahead of time and either be willing to ask for scan or print a barcode (either that or just guess randomly and print barcodes for games they have in stock to check the price) and scan it ahead of time then go to the electronics ask for the games that are on sale and watch in amazement as the cashier has no clue why the games are so cheap!

Most sears stores here have the clearance games in a separate bin however a lot don't even bother updating the prices which is why you find the games in the locked cabinet.

I went to a third-world sears tonight. I've never seen anything like it. Even the systems were just sitting out in the open on the shelf. There were no glass cases for anything. The games were on racks completely disorganized. They weren't even categorized by system. It was awful.
 
My Sears got rid of the glass case. Everything is on shelving units, organized and tagged correctly. Needless to say, I don't find as many good deals there as I used to. I miss the days of everything not organized, titles in front of one another in the case so you really had to look to find stuff and outdated price tags. Luckily another store 15 minutes away doesn't update the price tags so I can still find good stuff there (recently picked up SSX On Tour for XBox for $0.97 and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam on Wii for $4.97)
 
Did a full-out happy dance in my Sears today...had the girl check the last copy of Excite Truck (Wii) and it scanned for $9.99. So glad I didn't pay an overinflated used price for it yesterday...

weird being that the sears i work in still has the glass case. i belive the glass case is needed.

you wont believe how many low lifes that get their hands on a game thats on one of those clearance bins will open the case and steal the disc and toss the disc case behind the tvs.

it may be annoying for those just looking for the price, but its certainly a nessisasty.. to many dirt bags trying to steal games.. and its easy nuff already to steal being that theres no security alarms in the store.

you just have 2 lazy lp people that sit in a room watching 30 something tubes that are the serveral cameras in the store.
 
I must have spent an hour looking through the titles at my local Sears (Auburn, MA). It's so disorganized there they have three rows of PS2 games behind glass and a lot of titles outside it. I actually took the original posting of the clearance titles with me to help me look. Of the ones that they would sell me, I found PS3 MLB 07 and 2K7 (4.97), PS2 Arthur (1.97), DS Mini RC Rally (6.97), and Wii Robinsons (4.97). They did have GC XMen Legend 1, PS2 Sonic Mega Collection, and PS2 Batman Begins that they wouldn't sell to me, so that was annoying. Their GBA SMB Jr. was still 9.97 as well. They really need to figure out what they are doing in that section of the store!

They might have gotten rid of the case because electronics is now "boxed in" with glass walls and the only way in and out of the section is through the metal detector (or whatever it is called). I was told they had to seperate electronics like that due to theft so it does seem strange that they would get rid of the glass case overall.
 
I almost never go to Sears. I've checked a few for these clearance deals, but generally come out empty, but I happened to be in the Mall this weekend and my wife wanted to go to a store (that turned out to be closed down) next to Sears, so I was able to take a quick look. I had seen 2 of the Logitech remotes at this store a few months ago, but they still rang up at $99.99 at that point, even though the store farther south had had them at $32.97 (but, of course, had none left). I didn't see them in the remote aisle this time, so I figured I was out of luck, as usual, but then I found them in a glass case. I asked for a price check, and they were $19.97!!! At that price, I couldn't resist getting one for the bedroom and one for the den. I see that the OP still lists $32.97, so, as unlikely as it is that any other Sears still have these, you may want to check. I just wish I had printed out a $5 coupon.

well i cant gurantee anything because i dont go to any other sears stores being that theres no reason, but its probably something sent out like get rid of clearance.

there are 2 metal carts in the center of the deparement and on the side in the corner that have the clearence.

btw i noticed vitiful joe 1 and 2 poped outa nowhere with new price tags that are taped over the old ones.

so i picked it off and scanned it and apparently it doesnt have a price, so they gave it a price tag of $11.99, and when u scan it into the register it says gc rpg.

Went to my local sears today to try to pick up naruto for the 360 and the guy looked @ the coupon for a quick sec to read the fine print and denied me it because it said exclusion for home electronics.

Anyway, had my son in his stroller and my daughter (4) was with me as well. My wife had taken our newborn to the restroom to feed her so I was in the electronics for a while. There were no clerks around. No one to say "May I help you?" I was looking through the two big bins of games that say $19.99 and under. I would estimate 90% of the games did not have a price tag or if they did it was over the $19.99 mark. So, with no one in sight, I grabbed a handful of games (aprox. 6) and hiked over to the children's section to scan them. The price checker is in front of a checkout station and the girl that was assigned there was on the phone through this entire thing. Anyway, I did this about three or four times without finding anything that was at that "CAG" price. My wife comes out and she and my niece (11, yeah it was a big family outing) take the kids downstairs. In the last run I had noticed that The Show(PSP) was $2 so I decided to purchase it. I went to the clerk in childrens who was still on the phone. I then continued around the section and found a clerk in electronics and purchased the game. I then went to the escalator and went downstairs to find my family waiting for me outside the store in the mall. As soon as I get out of the store I hear "SIR, SIR!" and see a huffing guy dripping in sweat. He tells me he is with merchandise protection or some shit like that and asks me to go in the store with him. I agree and the dude gives me the third degree about where I got the bag that my game was in. I said I just bought the game and he said that nobody seen me buy the game. I gave it to him and he looked at the receipt and explained that several employees saw me carrying a big stack of games and that suddenly I had a sears bag and nobody seen me pay for anything. I told him that there was no one around, no price on the games, and I wanted to see how much they were. I returned the games to the bin. I was embarrassed I guess. I can just imagine this dude sprinting through the store to catch me in the 2 dollar game heist. I don't know why I didn't tell him off or ask to see a manager or something. He half-assed his apology and I left. I was in a bad mood the rest of the day. ARRGH!

Legally, they can't do jack shit to you unless they see you pick up a game, and from there until you leave the store, never take their eyes off you, and see you not put the game down anywhere. They also can't legally check your receipt or anything because when you buy the game it becomes your property.

well if u didnt no i work in sears, lol. i personally think the store is a piece of shit. loss prevention should not have stopped you because its illegal i believe to stop a shopper if there isnt any proof.

just because sears employees saw u isnt proof. he needed to use one of those 30 cameras to see you. i could easily call lp and tell them something but they would need to have proof before stopping u.

send a letter to corperate and tell them ur story. hopelly u got the loss preventions guys name so u can report the jerk off. as for its not the employess fault but the managment. the other day i was the only one in grand central(dishwashers, stoves, eletronics) for 2 hours. but i only know how to sell eletronics so i had to tell the people in the other department srry but theres no one to help.

seriouly, its not right when these people just came to sears to buy a dishwasher and they couldnt because no one was there to help them. but it was only 1 couple being that it was a saturday night and there wasnt any customers. i wonder why?

Same sort of thing happened to me at my Sears store several months ago. Since they never like to keep the price tags up to date I started taking stacks of games over to the Lawn and Garden section where the lone scanner is on the floor and checked prices. Like you I hardly found anything with CAG friendly pricing. At the other end of the store I saw some dude with the clipboard watching me like a hawk. I put everything right back in the bins where I found them as soon as I was done.
 
Meh, sounds like the guy was doing his job to me. The store has a right to protect their merchandise and question anyone they suspect might be stealing. What you did by carrying a bunch of games over to another section obviously threw up some red flags. As long as they didn't get physical with you, I don't see any issue with it.

When I worked at a grocery store (17 years ago) some of the guys from the meat department would actually chase suspects out of the store and into the parking lot where they would sometimes tackle them or rough them up a bit. IMO that was way out of bounds and I wouldn't be surprised if the store got sued at least once or twice.

Ha ha that reminds me of when I used to be a bagger at a Pick N' Save store when I was 17 and those security guards would lay into someone stealing and at one time it looked like a safety laying a hit when A guy tried running but they said it was fine seeing he was running (resisting) lol

I know, it just seems that they might have sent an employee over to the video game section if they had their cameras on me and felt I was suspicious. I would have gladly asked someone to ring up a few games prices. Honestly, though what was I supposed to do? Again, no one was there, no prices on the items, I took a few games at a time to scan them in front of employee who was on the phone. I brought the games back and did this a few times. Found a game that I wanted to purchase and searched for a way to check out and after being ignored by phone girl I noticed a guy in electronics, asked if I could purchase an item there, paid and went on my way. If they had a problem with me scanning games why didn't they confront me then instead of waiting until I purchased an item and walked out the store and embarrassing me by chasing me and yelling for me in a mall. Oh well.

Back on topic, are there any good 360 games on clearance. I've found MLB 2K7 for $5, but that is all. I've gotten some decent deals on Wii games and thought I'd ask about the 360. A closer sears to me than the mall one has some PS3 games that I ignore not having the system. If anyone is looking for a specific game (Sorry, Genji is out) please pm me.

Not like that they don't. As someone who worked assets protection for another major retail store chain, that was a SEVERE no no what went down.

If I was the OP, I would definitely escalate this up to corporate and get that #@$!stick fired. I mean, go all out too about harassment and mental anguish and all that. Abuse of alleged power by security guards makes me so mad, especially when you have EXPLICIT procedures you have to follow and agree to.

Absolutely wrong! As posted already they have to see you with the merchandise for 100% of the time you have it. If they see you take something and put it in your jacket they can't do a thing if they take their eyes off of you. Even though they know you have it. Screwed up the way it is but I am sure store policies are set to avoid legal issues. Unfortunately this makes it easier for the real thieves. I would have shown my reciept and then told the guy to fuck off and ripped him a second and third asshole. All the while explaining the law to him!
 
That story has "free $50 gift card" written all over it. Seriously complain to corporate and they'll probably send you something.

Back on topic, adding to the YMMV confusion on some of the clearance prices...The pink controller rings up at the listed clearance price in my area (NJ) but all of the games points cards, etc. rang up full price at two different Sears stores.

After reading this I went to Sears and was pretty excited to see 3 of these in the clearance bin - but they were tagged and scanned $18.97 :cry:. It sucks because the other game prices are right on (e.g., Genji, Dark Kingdom, Moto GP 07, MLB 07, etc all $4.97).

We ended up getting some cheap kids clothes using the $5 off coupon so it wasn't a complete loss though ;).

I might hit up the other one today...

The stickers were marked for July. Those three has been marked $7.97 or higher for awhile.
 
Went to sear in Jordan Landing Utah today and susprisingly they had put out a new game section still uncomplete but they had alot of stuff i've never seen there before. Picked up a copy of Genji for my PS3 there are still around 3 copies left there. Didn't see any of those 1600 ms card or xbox live cards. but one of the other sears has it in glass case but there is a price tag in the hanger say 24.99 should i just risk it and ask them to check it out for me? It's the old type of 1600 card not the new style.
