Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

cant call since theyre clueless about checking to see if they have them in stock. just have to go there and find out yourself. there only way to find out if they have it in stock is to get the sku # and have them check it on their system (not the upc).
 
Well, I finally made it to a Sears today... I thought I hit the jackpot as they had a few of the cheap 360 games. Problem was they were all $7.97 instead of the $4 everyone else is seeing (and that is with a scan at the register).

I did pick up Arcade Unplugged for $5.97 and MGS 3 Subsistence for $17.97.

But Eragon and PD0 were $7.97.
 
Yeah, Sears games aren't always the same at each store. For example, Elite Beat Agents was ringing up at one Sears for $5.97 and $7.97 at another one I went to.
 
Stopped at my Sears on Saturday, found two Intec brand wireless Gamecube controllers with rechargeable battery packs for $7.97 (marked $19.97). Haven't tried them out yet, but as long as they're half-decent, I'll be ecstatic.

I stopped by a local sears in my area and got the following quotes:

Eragon: $39.99
Pimp my Ride (360): $39.99
XBL arcade: $41.97


needless to say I put the games back in the bargain bin in infinite disappointment. -_-

that intec wireless controller might be good for flipping on ebay. sell it before super smash brothers brawl comes out.. both controllers might be worth around $40-$50

funny...my sears never had a video games section and i stopped in this past weekend to get a new car battery and...VOILA!...games! after reading this thread, i'm totally running there to get some games scanned. A lot of games were in glass cases and i assumed the prices were as marked...i'll let you know what i find
 
got excited when i saw 2 logitech harmony (520?) remotes. while not labeled, they were in a spot labeled $25. they rung up $50 each, so I passed.

Super Swing Golf (Wii) was $20. bought, but ended up returning.

didn't see much else that i could consider a steal

Thanks for the tip Phear, I'll have to visit the other Sears near me. One CAG supposedly found a ton of stuff at a Sears- I'm just hoping for a copy of Tetris DS.
 
for some reason while i was searching for a dreamcast logo the Jet Set Radio logo showed up for some random reason. so i decided to do a temporary update until i find a better snake picture.

i thought there was this list of games close to the register while i was at sears on saturday. i had to be nosy and glanced at it only to find that it was some sort of guide how the dvds were supposed to be presented. i didnt get to look at the second page. after i left i wished i should have, maybe that was the list that were all waiting for.
 
yo. found 20G harddrives for 41.xx. is that a good price? Just still seems a lot for me. didn't pick up. Green bay Sears if anyone near is interested.

$50 is still a great price for them considering they sell for $75 easy on eBay.

Actually at one in Alexandria VA it rang up $11.97? WTF oh well passed on that and Picked up Baten Katos for $2.97? maybe. These prices vary big time in all sears in my area but have found most are within $1-$2 of whats reported here. Probably just haven't dropped yet. I noticed some tags will even say the month of the clearance, like DEC, NOV, etc. (on the Pink Clearance tags)
 
found 2 Kaemos for 5.97 today, going back tomorrow to grab one more shadow of the colossus - its gonna be better when I start working there and get a discount to add to this.

Debating on picking up another 20gb hard drive. If I get Rock Band, I suppose I'll need it for all the dlc. I still have 6 gb left on my current hard drive that came with my console, though. I usually delete any demos and other game saves after I play them, just to free up the space, so I don't know if it would be worth it to spend another $40-50 on a second hard drive.

im not much of an ebayer and i agree with shieryda on the use of my hard drive. i might just grab on to one for the meantime though and see if the price drops in the few weeks or not.

Went back this afternoon and they still had that copy of Tetris DS sitting in the case. Picked that up as well as two copies of Persona 3. All three items were retail price so as a CAG it was a tough purchase but well worth it considering how hard those games are to find. Also I was mistaken in my earlier post. I found the Tetris DS at K-Mart not Sears (although they are basically the same thing). Got Persona 3 and Tetris DS at K-Mart and a second Persona 3 at the Sears in the mall across the street.
 
Went to Sears last night in No. Attleboro MA. Picked up DOA4 for $8 because they were having a 50% off clearance items sale. I also picked up an official PSP car charger for $1, a third party PSP battery/charger for $7.50 and an official PSP accessory pouch with screen cleaners for $1.50. If anyone is in the area, they had another copy of DOA4, official PSP AC adapter for $5, as well as some other misc. PSP and DS accessories. Go check it out!
 
Also, the items were not ringing up as 50% off. I had to have the associate ring them up manually and get a managers approval (which was not difficult because the guy could have cared less). If there is a hassle with the 50%, the sign for the clearance sale is in the back of the gaming section at the very end of one of the game racks. Just point it out to them and there shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps!
 
Wow has anyone else found this 50% off sale or is this just happening at the one store? I don't remember seeing this sign at the store closest to me here in KC.

Different stores do it at different times. I encountered one store that did the extra 50% off several months ago. When I went back to that store a few weeks ago, they were no longer doing it (but still had plenty of clearance games to sell). My experience with the promotion is it always involves a manager override, so it will always be YMMV.
 
Went to two different Sears. One was closing and had a 30% off sale. However, there weren't any good games to buy and all the accessories/cards were already gone. The other Sears had everything ringing up as normal (ex. 3-month starter as 29.99) and I couldn't find anything else good. It sucks to have bad luck when searching for YMMV deals XD
 
I visited a couple Sears today and it seems like either corporate is telling them to clean out their back rooms, or some got some more older games in stock.

Of note, both of them had a few copies of Tetris DS ($29.99).

I dunno - it kinda seems like some locations have lazy or understaffed employees that don't get everything out for people to buy. If you happen to be heading out to Sears, I would take this number with you:

Tetris DS - 58 93640

That is the Sears number for the game which is the only way you can ask them to see if they have it in stock. Ask them to enter that number and check how many they have in stock. But be realistic and don't expect them to have it in stock.
 
LOL flount, that sounds like my local Kmart, where they supposedly had a bunch of games on a cart in the back. I SO wish they would've hired me for the Christmas season there, since I have a feeling it's like a goldmine of out of system older games back there, unless some other CAG came through and got them all.

At one the new electronics manager is organizing them. He was gung ho about shaping up that store when he started a few months ago. He started properly marking everything and organized everything neatly so you could see all of the games, but a month later he got this glazed look in his eyes and Halo 3 was dumped into the bottom of the case under copies of Open Season the day it came out. I guess they already got to the poor bastard. . .At the other store, there's a very helpful guy who goes on about the stuff in the back. There's lots of old stuff and the new stuff sometimes takes weeks to be brought onto the sales floor. As for the Sears here, employees always say there's no gaming stuff in the back. Yeah, those four Gameboy Players and Gamecube bundles that appeared came in on a truck. . .
 
Yeah, these Sears and Kmart guys can be a pain. I've asked them on so many occasions to look in the back room and had them laugh at me. I've had 2 Kmarts and 3 Sears near me pull a crapload of games outta nowhere recently which is why I recommend having an employee put the Tetris DS number in their system. At least at one of the stores I went to recently they admitted they just let many shipments sit around in the back forever until they got some management on their case.

I'm pretty sure these Tetris DS games have been showing up because of employees not getting the job done. The same thing happened in the past with Mario DDR (which I was never lucky on finding).
 
Even if you worked at Kmart you would have little time to be scouring the back room for goodies, I worked at Kmart and was stuck on register the whole time and I don't think I ever had to go into the back room once. It would probably take you a while to work up to something like electronics where you would have some freedom, and then its probably not worth it (you don't want to work at Kmart unless you really have to). Even if you are working a department, you can still be placed on register at random intervals because they call your name or number or whatever when they need more people on the registers or whenever there's more than a few people in line. If they called you when you were in the back room digging you would be in trouble for not coming when called and would have to explain yourself.

They don't have a person that works full time electronics either (you can't just stand behind the counter and look busy, they will have you doing something else, trust me), ever wonder why there is never anyone at the electronics counter, thats why. You would probably be allowed into the back as an employee of electronics however I would imagine that back room is monitored closely and your register and counter would be as well, remember retail stores have more cameras on employees than they do on customers. So if you went to get a customer an item out of the back (which is probably the only time you will be going back there) and were gone too long because you were digging for goodies you would probably get in trouble or fired.

Even if the back room is a gold mine most of the stuff probably isn't in the system anymore, and you can't just make up prices and give yourself items, Kmart REALLY frowns upon any price changes done by employees even if its 20 cents off for a customer.

From what I hear if there is stuff in the back room it gets sent to stores that are closing to be sold at those stores under the scammy liquidator, which means it is likely marked its original sale price and the percents off are taken by the liquidator, which for electronics could result in some grossly overpriced items.
